The ADT app is non-descriptive nor easy to use. ADT represtatives are highly rude and unprofessional. I'm looking forward to the day my contact expires and will never use ADT again.
worst co. we have dealt with. cust serv consists of transferring you from one person to another. absolutely nothing gets handled. we have problems now but know from experience to not bother calling them again. we are biting the bullet and investing in new eq. with another co.
They claim they take all these extra precautions to prevent against hackers and it took them no time to access my account, cancel my wife's access and take her code and account title to have full access to everything. Total waste of money that I'm now expected to pay for the next 3 yrs.

Not only did I have a shooting outside my home, my cams did not capture the event as they should for police and I was promised by a representative that even when WIFI is cut off, the cameras will still record. But conveniently, they stop working during that crucial moment due to my WIFI being down, and if I want to hard reset my cameras onto my new WIFI, all my recordings will be deleted. Why am I paying nearly a hundred a month for false security? Oh, and got logged out of my own system. Fun.

I hate it!!!! app is horrible and buggy. always buffers and TAKES FOREVER TO OPEN LIVE
adt is broken. three weeks and adt refuses to send tech to check cameras that dont record at night.
Not helpful at all. Need to put in test mode to change batteries. No way to do that
app always malfunction doesn't allow viewing, most functions doesn't work.
have had ADT for several years. garbage app, garbage products, and non-existent customer service. we waited until our contract was up and cancelled. NOW they are keen to offer customer service and 20+ offers to lower the price (after raising the price multiple times). save your money and get a home security company that doesn't steal your money.
slow does not capture everything on camera takes them 30 mins if you go to them with a problem only get a certain amount of camera clips a month our cars where broken into could barley see them on the camera bc of how bad of quality it is only records when it is triggered they don't tell u that u have to pay 1300 if you cancel it they said we whould pay 50 a month bam out of the blue we now pay almost 70 really poor service I whould not recommend it the panel works fine for us but cameras suck
All the time this app blows out user/password combo, and about every time i leave the house and it has to be relogged into, always while I am driving and have something to do. Fix it please!!!
When I need customer support it just takes me to a website where none of the buttons I need work.

I wouldn't recommend this to a dog! terrible customer service and all around bad experience! DONT DO IT!
The app itself is nice. But the customer service to back it up is trash. After spending forever trying to get my "system out of service" fixed, I call to cancel and I spend the entire time getting "offers" and then the rep abruptly hangs up after giving me "the script" about how my system will not work after canceling without any direction on if the service is actually canceled, when it is effective, or anything else. Just "bye", click. Exactly why I am switching to a system I have control over.
I got an adt installed and at first it operated great, but I had my internet service do an upgrade and had to have technical support, then I dropped phone and got a new phone, nothing but problems, I'm retired, I can't afford 150 dollars for techs

2026 and I can't find my account info or pay an invoice through the app.... try to log in the website... good luck getting your password reset sent to your email, I've been waiting over an hour and sent a few requests
05/14/2026 UPDATE - Still one of the most frustrating security apps I’ve used. The ADT Control app continues to crash, and clearing cache, uninstalling, and reinstalling hasn’t fixed the issue. Trying to access recording settings often results in a blank white screen, and the browser redirects you back to the app. I'm about ready to cancel. 11/20/2025 Works when it wants to! The app loads when it wants, keeps freezing, not responding, and still shows armed when disarmed at the panel.
Automation is shockingly bad. Why can't I automate scenes? Why are some things scheduled and some things rules? I literally can't automate something as simple as "Lock my front door at this time". Edit: After 3 months, this is even worse than I imagined. Holy God this is the most idiotic system known to man. Automation is terrible, customer support is non-existent. I had to silence ALL the notifications because it was constantly going off over nothing.
The old home page had one click to several features that I haven't been able to access with my allegedly upgraded system. For instance, an outside motion detector trigged interior light and sound.
this system works when it wants too, cant wait till our contract is up so we can get rid of it!!! Will not recommend adt to anyone!!! an our bill went up $5 more which is not right!!!
I would give it less than a star if it was possible. The entire experience with this app and ADT has been terrible.
I hate it. when trying to adjust the doorbell chime it's in the oddest place. Seems it would be somewhere simple like settings, but no. Plus, the MAJORITY of time there's a lag when trying to view the camera when alerted.
tge absolute worst customer service EVERRRRRRR & im a long time customer the ADT OOP...is realllllllll dumb l, slow & extremely unprofessional...I give them 0 🌟
I've been a loyal customer for approximately 12 years. My device panel recently stopped working and ADT wants to charge me $167 to send someone to service it. Thankfully, I no longer have a contract with them, so I'm cancelling as soon as I figure out how to do that because the app is not giving me the option to manage my own account 😡
the fact that I can't bypass a sensor in the app and then set the alarm is ridiculous. for people trying to arm it quietly because people are sleeping and dont wanna hear a sensor go off its not very convient
It's too difficult to turn the "rules" off and on. It's hard to tell if they're on or not.

it is super delayed and when I call them. they say its my internet connection. but my our security apps are prompt with notifications. I don't recommend. Also be careful with there third party distributors safestreet. not good service at all.
Not user friendly, it forces you to call to cancel. And they are too damn nosey, my military status shouldn't matter just cancel your horrible service.
Horrible experience. Continuous "sensor tamper" alarms with no resolution.

I changed my password and the next day the app didn't recognize my password. I deleted the My ADT app. I called a tech. The tech said to install ADT Control. I tried. The Play Store message said it was already installed on my phone. Not the case. I had already deleted the My ADT app and restarted my phone to try to install the ADT Control app. I kept getting the message that it was installed.The app truly truly sucks. I guess I'll have to call ADT going forward for any new issues with my system.

entire system is total garbage. cant wait until my contract is up to throw my 2k plus of equipment in the garbage. this app quit processing when my door is locked/unlocked. now it always says unlocked, unless I use the app to lock it. so I go to u lock and I have to relock to unlock. total garbage! oh, and i dont get alerts, or a phone call when my alarm goes off.

I would love if they would allow me to return their equipment and leave me alone. They trap you in a contract. PLEASE find another company.
The app does not provide a way to register, and neither does the my ADT website. When I click Open, I'm asked for my user name and password. Problem is, there is no way to create one.
Its a terrible app. does not update properly.

ADT sucks!! Having issues with my security and can't get these folks on the phone. The app help is no help. Been calling for days holding for hours. No one answers. Customer service sucks!! Looking into another security system. Can't stop the beeping because of wifi failure notice that won't stop. I am constantly rebooting during thecl day & it beeping keeps me up at night. Help! 6/24/22 Now my camera is not working even though new wifi router & info input stopped the issue with wifi connection
