I downloaded and uninstalled in less than 5 minutes. Everything I tapped was blocked straight away with "Sign up for premium" pop-ups. How can I even get to learn the app and assess if it's worth a subscription if I can't even check anything out when I search a trail? Stop being so greedy. At least don't make the premium restricted options THE ONLY THING SHOWING IN THE SCREEN.

DO NOT PAY FOR ALLTRAILS. The free version will show you where to find trails. Now that they sold out to a private equity firm to upsale to peak, the changes have made trail making IMPOSSIBLE. I get routed to other countries and states on a regular basis. Scout the customer service AI is incapable of helping. Nothing but frustration. Get Gaia or OnX Back Country. I contacted All Trails and they communicated...or their AI did that they have ZERO intent or plans on fixing these issues.

Would've gladly paid 2.99/mo for a few months but they are greedy and want you to pay the entire year. Yeah, no, I ain't hiking the entire year.

SCAM! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE 1-WEEK FREE TRAIL. There is no way to cancel the subscription. Good luck trying to contact anyone of substance to cancel your subscription. Their chat function is useless. It will not get you to where you can cancel. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it is.

constant popup to promote subscription is annoying
extreme low quality when I follow a link someone sends me it asks me if I want to open the app which is garbage because I already have the app downloaded and paid for but I click yes and then it just opens the app it doesn't open to where the link led I have to then type in or copy and paste the name of the place that was sent to me it's always been such a difficult app to use even though it is very inexpensive I still think it's very overpriced
I hiked 8 miles and recorded it in the app. I got back to my car, selected "finish activity" several times (because the app kept prompting me to select it over and over) and boom. It's like the activity never happened. Restarted my phone multiple times, force quit the app multiple times, signed out and signed back in, connected to wifi, put my phone in airplane mode for a while, refreshed the app repeatedly. luckily I screencapped my stats so I at least know what I did but yeesh.

Used to be great, but now extremely buggy. Have to force close and restrict permissions, or it drains battery and pulls location even when not in use
greedy money suckers want $45 more a year just to view the route I made on the desktop website versíon. Now I have to go through the unsubscribe hell, and find a new app for a hike tomorrow.
Am I the only one having an issue of wait for app or close app I can't even get a chance to view the app because it just keeps doing it the foreclosing stuff

In practice it is barely usable in its free state, and is flat out annoying to use on the website, throwing you across the page and demanding you sign in or pay for premium to get anything useful out of it. As it stands your best bet is using this app to get ideas on where to hike and getting literally all of your information elsewhere.
I paid for Plus for offline access to the app, but even with Plus, the app is mostly broken when offline. After I download the trails in an area and drop off the Internet, the experience is: (1) no search, (2) constantly trying to load... something. possibly pictures? I just see a "loading" indicator, (3) Lots of missing maps that weren't downloaded by default. It's clear that the developers aren't testing the main paid use case, at all.
Used to be excellent. some time around October 2025 started rapidly draining the phone battery when in use, which did not happen previously. I am actively looking for a replacement and will not be renewing my subscription.
Both myself (Android) and a spouse (iPhone) find AllTrails very lacking, even after a paid subscription. Off to try others, hope to not be back. The UX never seems to do what I would expect. Almost always in offline mode. Find a destination point on a map, it shows you the trails that go by that point, but cycling through the routes to compare and contrast is hard, less interested in photos and help me get to things like distance/time easier when trying to.... ** Developer response not relevant
Good for finding new trails but truly horrible for saving your hikes. Doesn't record all the walk
While looking for info, alltrails got me signed in for a 7 day trial while looking at it. I wasn't given the option to pay monthly, so no I don't want to pay ahead the $total and not be signed up.
