It is harder to book a hotel using this app than it was using the link plug-in on the regular Amex app. There is no map view to check your booking location and the neighborhood filter is insufficient for that purpose. Also the number of options I can book compared to the previously mentioned travel link seems to be much smaller. I will change my review if the app gets better but for now it is a downgrade to anything else.
Depending on what device used, the price increases or decreases. Why are you taking advantage of people?
unusable. tried to book flight and can't pick dates, it's locked on first half of month with no way to scroll or change dates.
American Express Platinum is supposed to be a travel card. The FHR and Hotel Collection $300 is useless. I live in between Atlantic City and Philadelphia. There are 3 hotels to choose from in Philadelphia and ZERO in Atlantic City. The hotels and flights on the app run between 20 and 30 percent higher than booking from other sites. I asked for a price match or travel voucher since the $300 is not usable. AMEX said too bad! WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A TRAVEL CREDIT CARD WHEN YOU CANT USE IT?
first time trying it and it won't load anything, wonderful experience... :(. I have all these AmEx points that will all go to waste because I can't use them here. they are so full of promises and their app won't work. who designed this halfbaked app? why would they bot include the ability to see the hotel search results on the map like the old site?
It's 2026: a travel app should be able to show hotel options in map view. Also, it would be nice to filter by hotel brand but not a deal breaker.

Horrible UI, rental car options won't even load at all. It wont allow use membership points on the app. A total waste of time as a loyal amex card customer.

You are the epitome of what is wrong with Corporate America! You charge Platinum Card holders for the privilege of holding your card and then you put out junk apps like this! When choosing dates for a flight you can't even move the calendar to choose the return date. It's an app made by a beginner programmer! Shame on you!
says my account is locked when it try to login. no problem logging in on computer.
Not good, no map view, not even distance from the location. Constant log outs and asking for a new code over and over. Can't book the night of if it's after 8pm for me. You need your plans set. Would trash it, if not for my card benefits.
Literally rubbish. Logs itself out constantly, within moments. Sends continuous reauthentication codes even on recognized devices. This app is totally useless and no better than the abhorrent website. Uninstalled. Amex should be embarrassed and the lowly executive who green lit this app should be replaced by someone with a clue.
Cannot finish a booking without the app timing out or glitching out.
You need to know what travel plans you need to make. This is not the app to find a hotel or compare flights. The timeout function will cut you off after 5 mins and then you have to start from square one.
Does not work, won't even open or let me sign on. Says come back later. Has been saying the same thing for weeks now.
Hotel search function is missing map view and distance from city. These are available on the web but not on the app.
why isn't the app available on Pixel 10 Pro Fold. I have a new device that's now 6 months old and yet this app is not available.

Ridiculous timeout and Lacks filters - This app, like the Amex account app, times out in five minutes and loses all state making you start searches at ground zero. It also lacks filters for hotel brand or name. Pretty much a carbon copy of the website that is just as bad. Drops session state when booking flights. I need to switch to Chase Sapphire.
One of the most pathetically ranked companies in the world. Absolutely terrible customer service. Their employees are seemingly trained to be intentionally rude and combative. find anyone else to use.
Nice app, but still no way to check lounge availability.
It makes you login to launch the app, then again to try and do anything. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but it's really no good. It somehow does travel worse than the normal AmEx app.

car rental issue (national car rental): driver info cannot be retained. You need to enter it every time for a new book. it says can't load driver info.
No map view already makes this app a 3/5 max. I do like minimalist vibe tho.
Prices are sometimes competitive, but not regularly. Interface is very frustrating when searching for hotels, single biggest gripe on this app. Want to search for a hotel in a specific area? Good luck. When searching for "Newark Airport" in the location box, the search returns over 800 results, with the top listings in Manhattan and Brooklyn. No map and no way to filter by location (other than an arbitrary list of neighborhoods, not including the airport). Absolutely infuriating system.

While shopping for flights, the app still times out after a short amount of time causing you to have to restart the process all over again. This was common in the AMEX app as well so I was hoping this new travel app would correct the issue but it hasn't.
I was hoping the entire point of this separate app was to be able to explore travel without a silly 5 minute automatic log out that the core banking app has... but no, same ridiculous time out. Already logged me out once midway booking a trip... get your stuff together Amex, this is literally the only reason (yet a big one) why I'm thinking of moving everything to Chase or Citi. if it wasn't for the time out issue, the rest of the app is lovely... which is why it's not 1 star
