it used to be good but it's been accumulating bugs at an absurd rate. it's now chewing through my battery in the background when I'm not using it. this app is owned by one of the most wealthy companies in the world, and it's quality is absolutely unacceptable. not to mention the insane contracts they make authors sign, preventing print out publishing of their books. get Libby instead and support your local library. this app is a waste of time and money. let it die.

really loved how the app worked but no way in hell am I gonna pay for a subscription and still have to pay for the books I want after that. the library has the same stuff for free.
I have using Audible daily for a few years. it has been a good balance in that time of a few books as a part of the membership then credits needed to finish a series, sometimes even a whole series of books being a part of the membership. in the last year this APP has turned into trash. 1 book included in the membership (I was paying over $20 per month) or a complete series read by Virtual Voice, Virtual voice is garbage. guess they want extra money for Data centers.
easy to tell that greedy corporate execs had their sausage fingers all over the new membership pricing model + credit use policies. News flash: the influx of negative reviews indicates that consumers are acutely aware of you absolutely bending them over to further line your pockets. I'm also disappointed to see such an increase in AI-narrated content. NO ONE is asking for this garbage, & in fact, we're actively PUSHING BACK AGAINST IT. do better, stop opting for the cheap shortcuts, Amazon 🐖
Bookmarks are a serious problem. It practically requires two hands to add a note (it didn't before) and half the time I add one, the book will jump back to prior chapters, rather than picking up at the bookmark I just added. I would love to sit in on a design meeting ro see how these folks decide what they think is a good idea.
it won't let me cancel
App is OK, but starts playing when connecting to car. Fix this.
Absolutely CAN'T listen if you're offline or have no data. Open without data/wifi, you're lucky if it starts where you left off. Can't even correct where it picks up at. Also how hard is it to just back out to the menu? Multiple times I press back and it just closes the app. What's the point in charging so much if I cant listen offline AFTER DOWNLOADING THE BOOK? Why charge for subscriptions or 20/30+ for an audio book if it's not reliabe?

crashes, pauses, hiccups, restarts (sometimes), deletes downloaded titles from phone randomly but usually one I'm listening to. prices go up, quality goes down, customer service is a joke and if it goes against their script it must be operator error. because the pilots of a crashed plane are never at fault. Have a Day
don't throw away your money. get unlimited books through libby.

Do not recommend... from over a decade of use I am now leaving: Update: Audible is pushing to have you not buy your books. After years of using the app I find the ability to not buy more credits while seeing a significant increase in the cost to buy strong enough reasons to look for a new platform like libro.fm old: When you are busy or reading. This app can help you reach that book a month, week or if your crazy enough a day. The Channels(kinda like pod casts) are great as well
cant buy gift cards off of app, that's dumb, and on top of that you don't keep your credits you paid for if you cancel, and I put a 3 month freeze on my account and they kept taking my monthly payment anyway, kinda a scummy tactic in my opinion.
too MUCH EXPDNSIVE!!! only in english!!! found very cheap app with all languages 60% cheaper...
not worth it
I cannot understand why my app is not working when I have credits and all my listening history reflected correctly under my online profile. My app is not reflecting my profile correctly at all and I don't want to read a bunch of articles to get help to fix it.

Fails a lot. Also, some policies like only being able to cancel the membership on web is dumb. Abusive practices for the consumer, just like Amazon.
