I was happy with the passing security so I upgraded to a 2nd gen doorbell cam and after two months it stopped working. Trouble shooting for 1.5 hours and they sent me a replacement that I can't connect to my module and can't reset the system. I guess it's time to move on to something that actually works and provides real-time security without lagging!

All five cameras will soon be replaced with something more mature/better developed. Yes they're cheap, but in this case, not even as good as "get what you pay for" even at their low price.

who gave the app permission to enable AI processing on my videos? I didn't ask to get me enrolled in it. I'm considering not renewing my plan.

I'm paying for a subscription monthly this is unacceptable. I can't view any live video or anything on the app. The app just opens and close. I'm about to unsubscibe and buy a different brand name camera.
I'm actually impressed by how they continually find ways to make this app worse with each update. It has never worked reliably in all the years I've been unfortunate enough to need it to interact with my Blink cameras. It's slow. It fails to load regularly. Videos don't show up in the feed despite having been recorded. The sound cuts out constantly. Having to reconnect a camera or sync module is an absolutely painful process. Only thing worse than this app is the actual cameras themselves.
tried to force a paid subscription then bricked 2 usb flash drives that were installed in 2 different sync modules. amazon greed is disgusting. they are now my last resort for shopping when they used to be my first.

I've edited this review so many times, it's a joke. With the latest update, I'm now being asked to verify my address in order to use AI features. Hahaha 😄 It would be great if some of the basic functions were ironed out first. Get those working correctly then maybe add the AI features. Geez! I don't want those stupid video descriptions! They're useless and don't even work correctly. There's a reason I didn't pay for it. Not even an option to turn it off.
Blink forces you to buy their bad subscription service that does not work, if you want all advertised features they charge $$$ After 2 years 6 of my 10 cameras failed. Blink said ... you gotta buy new. Got suckered into it now none of the Outdoor 4 camera work The new synch mods are a joke Canceled all subs and unlinked Alexa which helped the Gen 3 cams on Gen 3 synch but still GEN 4 on synch 3 do not work Some will alarm but no recordings If real it takes 15 minutes to store and Lag time omg

Why can I only receive audible notifications of movement or bell presses on my Android mobile phone using mobile data and not on my 5G home broadband network?
The app has added an alert at the top of the screen that REQUIRES you to provide a physical address "for access to new A/I features." When you continue, if you don't provide an address, you're locked, because the app HIJACKS THE BACK BUTTON, in violation of Google Play Store policy. There's no feature that requires my physical address, and I choose not to share it with Blink. If the company I'm trusting with video in my home doesn't respect my privacy, I don't want that company in my home.
I was logged out of my app, and when I try to log back in, I can’t because the app sends a code to the phone number registered on the account, and I no longer have access to it. I contacted support, but after asking for the DNS, they never replied. So I don’t know what’s going on. I reset the camera, but because it’s already registered, I can’t register it again.
the last recent update makes it a 50/50 chance ill get to use my cameras. Always saying another action is in progress please try again later. Now the latest is i get notifications of activity on a camera but when i look, its replaced the name of my camera with "maintenance". What the hell is that?

blink app refresh?? blink should allow the refresh of the device upon launching the app. And on android this behavior isn5 functioning accordingly. I wish blink would provide "Refresh" functionality fix on all their updates but so far- Nothing!!!

I hate this app. Hate it. They block using it in emulators on PCs. They only let you log into one account on your phone. They bury the local storage option pretty well. It is an incredibly terrible application in terms of features and overall usability, and I am a software developer, so I know what a good app is. They gate keep access to your devices through their interface exclusively. The only thing it gets right is adding new devices easily, but that is it.

the hardware is ok, the software and customer service from blink and Amazon are horrible. They point fingers at each other and do nothing to resolve your issues.
Support is not very responsive. Even with highspeed fiber optic internet, camera often has issues connecting. After a few months, the audio no longer streams.
Useless app! I can't login to my Blink account that i created. when trying to login to the app it ask you for a verification code via email- so far when you request for the verification code i get it. -after that process it requires a next verification step to verify your device.this next step requires you to enter your phone number based on your region so you could get the code via phone CALL or SMS, this process doesn't work and without that code you can't login tho the Blink account. DONT BUY
these online only cameras tend to disconnect from Wi-Fi every two weeks exactly and when you're not at home. since I've had three indoor cameras since December of 2025 I've tried selecting Wi-Fi channels that are less congested cameras still disconnect. then I tried having a dedicated IP address for all three cameras still disconnects every two weeks I even had it set to where my cameras were the only devices using my 2.5g Wi-Fi network as well and they still disconnected.
Everything about Blink is the worst. Worst cameras, worst apps, worst customer service.
The app is impossible to use due to so many ads, it is deceptive and hard to find where to continue. I am going to uninstall even though I could not even finish the install. Will be returning equipment

I've had one blink camera for over a year from the police department for peace of mind after getting a restraining order on my ex. It worked perfectly until just the last few months. It does NOT pick up people or motions most of the time. My daughter came home from school last week, waved, and showed a delivered pkg but the camera didn't pick her up. This is a waste of my money and does not make me or my kids feel safer like it should. I haven't set up my other cameras yet due to this! Horrible!
Ok so far. Update 1/19/22, app. quit working and now can't use my system, not impressed..🤨 5/3/26..app stopped working again....😠
when Someone pushes the bell it just says motion not someone's at the door anymore. 2nd issue is new batteries (lithium) but doorbell won't give notifications or if it does there's no footage
Updated review: Since paying for the Ai with the preview notification. They rarely work and it gets worse everyday. The only reason I paid extra for the preview doesn't even happen 70% of the time. OLD REVIEW no change: SUPER LAG! I have a better chance of physically going to where my camera is located to see what happening. THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS

Blink sucks! It misses almost everything important but records for sure every time the curtain moves. wow thanks 100 clips of the curtains; but misses the shots of the animals chewing things up or people coming and going. Lots of the things I'd like to capture are not it's pretty much worthless most of the time. And why only 30sec clips?? misses so much even when it happens to record something pertinent. Do Not recommend!
system sucks now. no matter what i do it will not save locally on to thumb drives. unless I pay for a subscription also will only record for 30 then shuts down for 10 second then started over again recording. Just hands down bad system

Really a 0 out of 5!! Every couple of months the system kicks out my cameras and module and it takes me WEEKS to get reconnected! this time I've been at it for 3.5 weeks! Trying to figure out what I'm paying for exactly!! I have done all the things recommended in troubleshooting!! I'm so irritated and annoyed right now!
notifications are inconsistent. they're on everywhere, in the app and my phone's settings, but they don't come through despite recording. sometimes if I clear the cache that helps, but not always

If you don't pay for their subscription service, your cameras won't record on your local SD card as advertised. Buy other cameras, thank me later. Update. You can record to you local SD card now but only if you don't have a subscription. They make sure it is inconvenient as possible to use your cameras if you are not on their subscription. Example, when you get a notification of an event, on subscription when you click on it it would take you to the clip, off sub they take you to live view.
