Moderation is wildly inconsistent and arbitrary, still, it's been an ongoing issue now and as a user it feels impossible to know that the actual policies are based on the freeform vibes based enforcement. The automated moderation tools are poorly calibrated at best, auto labeling is often confused if not outright absurd, and the human oversight offered is inconsistent and frequently appear as if they bring their personal feelings and biases into the work.
the administration is broken. main guy uses an ai generated ban list to block over half the site (anyone who said anything anti AI). so he never gets half the bug reports. trash administration

Your site is over complicated to get into!
Management is trying to turn the platform into a Twitter clone with even more schizophrenic decision making at the top. The owners clearly have no idea how to run or use a social media platform given the chief security officer was caught gooning on main and decided to ban everyone that brought it to attention instead of just using an alt like a normal person. They saw the demise of Tumblr and decided they wanted a piece of that failing action. We had a good thing going, Walter.

05/04/26 A bit slow and clunky. Lots of bugs. Needs a data saving setting where you can have a text only option when on PAYG data connection. Slow and errors when uploading videos. Unable to upload pictures and videos in the same post. Need to extend time limit on videos. 60 secs is too short.
absolutely horrific experience. account suspended with no activity. Just trying to delete the account. 6 weeks into the company "still reviewing" an account with no activity on it and "support" offering only updates of "that must be frustrating". run away and hide from this.
I don't know what's happening but I cannot open my account anymore. The app just exits by itself. The developers were happy when people from the 'other' app moved here, but they can't even manage to run this app properly. So disappointing.
Horrible app. Bans you for any reason and the mods don't help. Worst then twitter.
mentions notifications are broken, I never get notified when someone replies to a comment or post of mine, everything is set properly, still doesn't work....

this app was the number one spot for people who fled the disaster that was twitter, but now I cant comfortably say that anymore. the moderation and support team will not listen to user feedback and just continue to collapse their site through horrendous leadership and faulty ai programming. so unless both those factors are fundamentally improved, dont make a new account there
Weak app security with a lot of accounts getting hacked by bots left and right with no way to recover. the support team are not responding over the serious situation despite multiple reports. I do not recommend this if the problems still insists.
My attempt to log into one of my accounts has been rate limited for several hours now, and I've only tried five times. Had to reset my password twice to even try to get in, and I get hit with that. Also, they have been vibecoding with Claude, and its making the user experience worse. Community may be better than Twitter, but they are killing their opportunity to be better Twitter as an app/platform.
this app has been vibe reviewed with help from generative ai seriously stop the ai garbage. most people are jumping ship from twitter because of the nonsense over there so why would you bring it here and add the ability to start where I left off in the timeline. twitter does this and its much nicer to use since I don't read out of order or miss new posts. and add private accounts. its nice to have a second account thats private for your close friends this was supposed to be the better twitter

The same look as X, I left X and I don't want a copy. The feeds are sold as a big thing and they are not - they're always empty or not functioning. How to create them I have no idea, and no idea why it has to be so difficult. Threads did it right: here you have to make lists and then pin them on the home screen for them to work, like in Threads - that's the easy way. The search function is bad too - I search the name of a new TV show and there's a lot of things that have nothing to do with it.
Draconian moderation that is unevenly enforced along predictable axes. Leadership team is desperately out of touch with the user base and the service frequently just doesn't work.

content hiding is too strict. It's still basically impossible to add alt text to images. The main dev guy is blocking anyone who ever says anything negative about AI, while using AI to do his job for him. If AI's so good and easy like he and his ilk claim, then I don't think they need that guy on board. Devs in general need to log off and go outside for five minutes.

Each update makes the ui worse, the team behind the app is constantly trying to make the user base leave both via slop-coding a poorly running website and by actively getting in fights constantly. Pathetic and unprofessional.
The user experience was once quite good, but has drastically dropped in quality over the course of the last 5 or so months. It seems that Bluesky has relegated much of its coding to AI, with at least one of the most prominent developers of the site boasting about doing so regularly. Perhaps it would be prudent for the rest of the staff to recognize that doing the work right the first time might save them from the loads of trouble they keep finding themselves in. Just a thought.

my favorite app. if you mention that the head of trust and safety liked a certain type of adult content, you get banned immediately. also it breaks constantly because it's vibe coded by a guy who broke his phone when he tried to cool it down by submerging it in a swimming pool.

i feel like as a social media platform it's a lot more pleasant and refreshing compared to other platforms, i can't say the same about the app version it just runs like molasses no matter what phone you're using, like any basic function is either met with multiple seconds of waiting or the app just giving up. i've had to use the web version occasionally because it ran miles better. btw, may 2026, STILL slow!
