App is terrible. Has been for the last year since I've started "using it". Just installed the latest update and it was still lagging. It works when it wants to. Not worth downloading. Over it. Deleting ASAP.
rented a truck march 21, me and 2 friends packed all of my furniture and household items into the truck. the front of the truck had spiders along the ceiling. in the back of the truck, THOUSANDS of bedbugs, larvae, maggots, flies, came from behind the wood inside the truck and infested my furniture. claim has been pending since March 22nd. how much more evidence do they need than 50 pics/videos of bugs EVERYWHERE inside of that truck! absolutely nightmare fuel.

Rental prices have drastically increased in the past 6 months. The hidden fees are crazy. I am going to be booking through other companies
update: and now the app does not even work. it opens to the brand p age, and just hangs there. They will allow you to book reservations when they don't even have cars available. So be sure to make other arrangements... or make room in your schedule to wait, and wait, and wait.
it took me almost an hour to make a reservation, which is ridiculous.

App always has issues and never works correctly.
First, you have to give your credit card to check on any reservations, and second, it would not recognize a valid credit card number. "the number must be updated ". Stick with the website.

Buyer Beware --- Bait and Switch. We rented a 7 passenger Mercedes GLB standard SUV at Edinburgh airport via Expedia. The rental car was to be provided by Budget, with a written email confirmation of the quoted total price and vehicle type. Upon logging into thr Budget App, the very same reservation stated we rented a 5 passenger MG HS SUV. By no means is the MG HS and Mercedes GLB comparable in size, capacity, luggage or passengers. BUDGET DID NOTHING TO HONOR THE CONTRACT! STEER CLEAR!
Buttons don't work on the app. I can't modify my reservation after I already picked up the car. Customer service couldn't confirm my CC number over the phone so I have to find a random location to do it.

I made reservations cancel 2 weeks before my trip. They charged me a $50 cancelation fee and charged my credit card. I will never make reservations again at Buget
this app is ridiculous. it never works, and every single time you log in you still have to put in your upcoming reservation number instead of it just loading that you have a reservation coming up.
Still waiting on customer service.... and waiting .. and waiting...
So slow and laggy on a new pixel phone making it unusable.

people working there at the N. Beach location have really bad attitudes especially the two girls Angela the Asian & a black girl.
I hate this app. It never works properly and stays frozen. When you open the app it only allows you to open the home screen. It won't let you click any of the other tabs. IRRITATING!!!! So I don't have the convenience of using the app. I have to log on to the website everytime.
As I waited in cue for an hour Plus, I found my reservation was canceled!!

"Something went wrong." that's an understatement.
So far my first and only time with Budget has been mostly bad. The main driving point of the 1 star is from when I was told to give over an extra $355 for a deposit. Just to have it taken out the day I return the car in the same condition I got it. I call a month later, they laughed at that while saying "you won't be recieving your deposit because it is more than the $250." I asked about it a little more and still got the same answer since it made no sense. Craziest scam I've seen.

This app is currently unusable. I was able to create an account, but upon logging in the main navigation buttons along the bottom are unresponsive... so you can't access 3/4 of the app. And some of the content on the main page also does nothing when tapped. I'm using a pixel 7 running android 16. Please fix!
my flight was canceled and I was rebooked arriving 28 hours later and Budget would not honor my rate saying 24 hours was the limit. New rate was significantly higher.

Update March 2026: Looks like the budget app no longer supports the Google Pixel phones. Oh well, I just switched to National. 🤷🏽♂️ STILL keeps saying "Your session has expired" immediately after logging in on my Pixel 9a, and it's been doing this for over a year now. Doesn't matter if I reset or reinstall the app. Logging into the website works fine, it's just the app that sucks.
Can't view rental info during rental. Can't view drop-off or pickup location info. You can only see information about the car itself. That does nothing for me. You need to make everything about the current rental available in app. Can't share receipt. App says it needs storage permissions but the only permissions listed for the app in settings are location, notifications, camera, calendar, phone. How can I give you permission for storage if you don't request permission in the settings?
What's going on with the app? Every time I try to make a reservation, it cuts off and restart my phone.

Budget raised my rental fee from pickup at 10 am to pickup at 8 PM.
