With a welcoming casback promise with AH I thought I'd see if Bunq was a good alternative for my current bank. It's not. They use the cashback to get you to open an account, but when it's time to pay out, Support goes "Sorry, no, you followed all the steps but don't qualify because something went wrong". I was warned, and I should have listened. Staying with my current bank and deleting Bunq permanently.
I don't recommend it.
Do you guys even test the app and verification proces?
Requires me to drop root-rights to my smartphone in order to even register for a 'free' bunq account, or use their app. So much for 'free' and 'making life easy'. I refuse to drop root-access-rights to MY own devices.

I am trying to sign up to this bank app it ask me for my phone number then it says it will send me a code but it doesn't. ok eventually it sent me the code sign up what a flipping waste of time.It advertise that it gives 3 % on savings but when I signed up it gives 2%. The next problem is you have to do up a tax report for the government at the end of the year because this bank will not do it for you they want tax on the interest you made.What a complete waste of time this bank is

I had high hopes, but do not recommend. They find basically small ways to take your money. Stick with Revolut.

very bad experience .don't download or try to open account they will make you sick 1000 questions and will not open account questions like they are giving you loans .I tried last two months continuing submissions lots of details many different id different things still not finishing questions I decided to delete and recommend its name not bunker should be PUNKER
The company takes your money and, under the pretext of “Safety Mode,” simply holds onto it without giving any explanation! All you can do is chat with a bot! I provided all the documents: the company that pays my salary, the amount, and the payment date. A week before the payment date, I sent a reminder. On the payment date, I even provided a payment document from my company confirming the transfer. As a result, five days later, I still haven’t received my money.
useless app... until I didn't push them they didn't finish which took almost a week my kyc and repeatedly asked for kyc like 4/5 times. I did an instant GPay top up and it's 48 hours and the money is still not there in the account 🤯🤯🤯
bad experience with bunq more than a week now they blocked my account I can't access to my money nobody to talk with only support says from first day will take 1 to 2 Business days to solve the issue I answered the questions they asked and I'm still waiting nothing shows
keeps asking me to update but then on the playstore tells me I have the most up to date version

Very buggy bank app... 😔 Good customer support, but the app is just too buggy. I would not recommend it if you want to get things done quickly. If you want to test your patience, though, this is the perfect app.

I wanted to give the bunq another chance, even paid for the Elite subscription. I started to book my holidays, transferred money to bunq and they froze my account! They said it is an unusual activity lol. How are you guys still in business, no idea.
The trial period had started even before I received a card. I wanted to start the trial when I really needed it. Just to compare what I can get extra and how it will be improved.
Completely useless app. You have to wait about a week for your documents to be approved, only to discover afterwards that you can’t use other currencies due to restrictions that are never clearly stated before registering. This should be disclosed upfront so people don’t waste their time signing up and waiting for verification. Overall, a frustrating and pointless experience.
I reported a fraud on my account. By their own AI chatbot, they were supposed to respond within 2 days. I called one week after, 7 days, and I was told that no one at Bunq even looked at the fraud claim. I called, I got the exact same one person. Apparently Bunq, uses AI for pretty much everything and only has 2 person on the phone for all of continental Europe. Yesterday, Bunq closed my account without telling me specifically why. They stole my money. They will steal from you as well.
Account closed overnight after a legitimate dispute on card transactions. Vague reason ("unusual activity") and refusal to provide concrete explanations ("confidential reasons"). No payment incidents, no overdraft. Customer service nonexistent, arbitrary and final decision. Avoid.
Hi it's a scam online bank app name bunq i sale paint machine 1000 euro and someone transfer money in my bunq account and already 41 euro in this account he took me around 1041 euro and my account is blocked now. worst experience ever. bounced from ai to ai bot for a month. finally got business account approved. then after 3 weeks they say my business isn't eligible for the advertised free business account (which isn't transparent anywhere btw) and that my free trial month expired while I was waiting for them (way longer than advertised 2 wks). and don't bother trying to talk to a real person. not part of policy Update: attempt to connect after their response led to more ai slop. avoid. only pain awaits

I made a purchase from a company that never delivered the product. I requested a refund. After 4 months providing a number of documents Bunq just replied the refund was declined (from the scam company). They also kept on asking me for the same documents multiple times. Any proper bank would have investigated the matter and refunded me. I will change bank for one that provide genuine services.
It's a very expensive banking method with no access to client service. The only thing is, it is easy to open an account but you have no idea of the cost involved, beforehand. There is no description of different services etc. It feels a bit scammy because of no access to customer service and no fees explained.
