Great marketing, but disappointing in practice. I subscribed for a year based on the hype and regret it after less than a month. Route preferences like avoiding tolls, ferries, and closed roads aren't saved, and the app still directs me to closed roads. Making changes during a trip is frustrating, and the overall experience feels clunky compared to competitors. The only standout feature is highlighting previously ridden roads. Unfortunately, this app ranks at the bottom of my navigation list.

FFS another money grab.
works ok when it dose but the map freezes randomly and won't un freeze. sometimes I can pause the ride and hit continue ride and if sorts itself out but other times I just have to go the distance till next turn bar because thats all that seems to work most of the time
Sadly, another poor and expensive motorcycle navigation app. I downloaded this app, knowing there was a free and paid subscription level. The free level might as well not exist, because without a paid subscription, you can't use it for navigation, which is abysmal given this is it's sole purpose. I then tried the paid level £8.99 per WEEK, but sadly this wasn't worth it, as the developers aren't buying data from Google maps and it doesn't know about local road closures. Don't waste your ££
One star just for your ads that start at full volume...
Company double dips, doesn't honor purchases. Purchased lifetime maps to download any region. Now, I can not use them unless I pay EVERY YEAR. When I Purchased lifetime maps, I didn't HAVE TO keep a yearly subscription. Now, I have to. Feels like I got taken for $150 (USD). Offline mode doesn't work right anymore either. HUGE DEAL when you ride in mountains with no cell service. 2 THUMBS DOWN. DEFINITELY NOT RENEWING.
The 14 days testing period are a lie. They collected the money on the same day I used it for the first time, which was one day after download. It drains your battery really fast and doesn't even know about road closures. If you follow the road signs it crashes trying to remap. The only thing that went smooth and fast was them taking the money.
Great app if you want to get lost or end up in a completely different area than where your destination address was. This thing just put me across the river from my destination, resulting in an extra hour of navigating using a different app because Calimoto had no idea where I needed to go. You can't even use navigation unless you pay for it so what's the point?
1 star coz can't give less. Doesn't tell you about all turnings or where to go at all roundabouts, tells you to turn when there's no turning. cannot input specific places (such as cafes) only postcodes or roads. complete waste of money subscribing but no functions on free version so tricks you into paying for subscription, my advice... don't bother
all of these apps are exactly the same they let you make a route and then when you want to follow it you have to pay your free trial doesn't count if Im still forced to pay at the end of it I'm tired all I want is goddamn custom route. I hate technology I hate you greedy developers
bombs out on android auto while driving.
It is completely useless, at least where I live.
The very first time I opened the app it asked me to subscribe and review on Google. I haven't even used this thing yet but here's my review of my experience so far...
Would rather use Google Maps. Takes you through the town centres and anything that's got tarmac. Stuck in traffic and traffic lights most times. It's frustrating when you can't stop and reroute due to being on a motorbike. No information about which lane to take. Don't think there is any metric for actually good roads. It's just roads that are not straight.
first i have to Register, then i cant use the nav without paying money. useless, useless, useless
the app keeps freezing up on my Google Pixel 7A pro. too dangerous for me. after my first concern you did an update but it didn't fix the issue of freezing up while riding. I cancelled within 30 days and 0 that's zero refund. I'll be turning this over to my Bank and my States Attorney Generals Office .
Calimoto auto renewed for a second year in a row without me using it. I didn't notice in time in 2025 so I didn't request a refund then. I thought I had cancelled it then but I guess not. It renewed Monday and I immediately requested a cancellation and refund. Google told me it would be up to the developer as they are a third party, and now Calimoto is telling me that they can't because of Google and because my account has been active for some time. I need actual support here, not a dismissal!
Cannot lock screen rotation.
The route planning is great, intuitive and finds great routes. That's the only good news. Once on the road the app simply falls apart if you loose phone signal or GPS, which is guaranteed on the twisties. By the time it regains signal if you are on a slightly different route to your destination it won't just update to continue on that road to the next checkpoint but decide to divert you all the way back to your last checkpoint or the start of the ride. Signed up to the trial, lasted 2 days.
ok nav ,but no integration with android auto at this stage is extremely disappointing. Moreso as this information is not readily available.
why pay £39.00 , when tomtom (far superior ) is £19.00 and waze /Google maps are free , just not worth it ! stack it high sell it cheap !
*Update* been off riding for 5 years back into the saddle now. and this used to be the best app to use but now? It no longer free and hugely disappointed.
Not compatible with Android Auto so I will be cancelling my subscription
the basic function of navigation is locked behind a subscription
It can't link back roads for ADV rides. Sorry I believed the reviews and bought it. A waste of money for me.
Purchased premium account a few weeks ago. I have since swapped phones but restore purchases doesn't work. I emailed them a week ago and have heard nothing. A waste of £50, very disappointed with the lack of customer service.
They paywalled the random route generator, the only thing I use on this thing. Definitely not worth $60 a year. Edit in response to the devs: I'm reviewing your app, not your website. I paid for the year subscription and I noticed no difference between the twisty and winding route choices. There are still navigation errors, especially at three-way turns. If I didn't have a mount to look down at the map and double-check the audio cues, I would have gone the wrong way multiple times.
Was good until they forced me to re register my account and deleted all my recorded rides!... Customer service blamed me and was very condescending.... better options out there!... blaming me for deleting my own account because I've 'stopped driving' and not taking responsibility for their error is pathetic.... be careful putting your trust and data with this company!
I prefer using a regular map of the city i am at the moment and then mark the route on google maps and follow google maps, which, it will give me better notifications or more accurate notifications of the surrounding areas.
Downloaded it, opened it, Agreed to the terms of use, requires login to use. That is where you lost me, a required login is a no-go app.
Deception at its best. After setting everything up with my plan, I pressed start. A pop up came up that said that this feature is only available as part of the subscription. Why not tell me that before I set everything up? You wanted me to set everything up so there is a higher chance I would purchase the subscription. Pathetic!
Don't use anymore. Just too painfull. Would rather just use Google Maps, or go back to Garmin.
all this app is good for is farmers because all it does is take you down single track farm roads , does in Cornwall any , I know loads a decent routes down there and calimoto doesn't find any of them , they should be paying you to use this gumf
I tried it the other day,not even worth considering. P.S: the app isn't recalculating the route or give you alternatieve if you miss a turn or had to take another route due to works,it doesn't seem to locate me, it was even trying yo get me home,to the start point half way into my ride 😅(realized that after 30 min of riding the wrong way),it seems always laggy and freezing. For me it's a no.
useless. I need an app that lets me put pins on the map to plan my route and gives me continuous navigation. I can't believe there isn't a single damn app out there that does this without being terrible.
I can't hear the indications in my helmet, no options in the app. Google Map, Waze and Detetch have good volume.
The gps location lags, and I missed 2-3 turnings because of the lag. Everything is setup as per instructions battery, location permissions... Every other navigation app is ok. only Calimoto lags.which makes it unusable especially in busy city streets.
Seems nice, but I refuse to use an app without proper dark mode support. The maps are too bright.
Apple Login doesn't work. I receive a firebase error. Buggy and slow app sadly. Price is pretty high for such a state.
I think this company spent more money on marketing than improving the product. After years, Android auto finally released but there is a huge problem. OFFLINE MAP DOES NOT WORK WITH AA! It makes it pretty useless as the only place I can use online maps are in the city while stunk with traffics. Come on, stop spending all money with YouTubers, invest in the product! Good product will bring you customers, not YouTubers
Mixed bag. It's good at finding you twisty routes and at recording your rides. But: *It's terrible at estimating arrival and seems to assume you will go at the speed limit everywhere. *Indicated speed limits are usually wrong. *The layout of the app completely destroys your phone screen with burn in. Given the information displayed is usually wrong, that's a double hit. *No live traffic or road closures. *Expensive, given failures. Update: No improvement in a year.
Updated review. few things to note: - routes are generally great. - android auto does not show the speed limit nor does it show my current speed. - Android auto regularly gets confused on where I am. the written direction on top of the screen does not match route nor does it match the voice guidance - Android Auto gets stuck on one location and continues to show the same distance remained. arrival time does not update if a different route or stops.
Not for real navigation. It cannot handle the route if you make a short cut, as well if you share the route to another Calimoto. Seems to like making extra loops and tries to go back if you do not follow the loop. Also, no dark more for modern phones to avoid battery from draining. Nice toy though.
I really like it to follow my gpx routes. It shows speed cameras and gas stations, but making a route on it is a high time consuming task. Why? all curvy roads are represented with enhanced size. There is no point in doing that because it is VERY visible where the curves are! So is very difficult to distinguish highways, secondary roads, gravel roads, etc. because near mountains you only see a massive web of roads. The only way to trace a route is having google maps by my side.
