Rebel EOS won't connect, this app is garbage. I was able before to before app updated to new version.
In past years this app was clunky, frequently non-functional, and just generally pretty bad but at least it eventually got the job done. to my surprise it was just updated to require an account and a login to use. Immediate uninstall. This is not something that needs to require an account. Will consider switching to another camera system rather than staying with Canon.
7 years later changing my 2 star to a 1 star review. get your life together canon. this is pathetic. I can never consistently pair ANY of our bodies. r50v, c50, c70, c80, 5d iv etc. never works.

Will not work without creating an account anymore. You need chrome to create an ID. Wont ever buy canon devices ever. Piece of garbage company.
Doesn't reconnect to the camera after the initial setup, have to reset it and reconnect every time.
This app is useless on a Chromebook for my camera but is great on my Android mobile. I want to setup access so I can wirelessly pull from my canon camera but cant as the app can not find chrome on my Chromebook to log in when its there. Either fix this so it can be used on Chromebooks as well as Android phone or tablets or create canon camera apps for chromebook and Android users instead of just apple users

wanted to send my mum a picture of a new bird i captured. but it requires an internet connection for a local peer to peer. going to look for alternative brand that is not a jackass to its clientbase.

absolute rubbish it connects to my g16 but that's as far as it gets, just keeps asking me to register new camera trying to use it on Android Tab 6
99 times out of a 100 on my R6 MkII it will not connect. Reset everything; re-paired via Bluetooth; reinstalled the App - nothing. I still haven't figured out why it needs to switch to a faster Wi-Fi; I don't want it to. Very disappointed.

Annoying to the point that I consider buying my next camera from another brand... What used to be a super practical and simple app now is buried in layers of bureaucratic and inefficient procedures to do basic things. Why on earth do I have to register/log in to perform a task directly between my phone and camera? Also keeps losing connection constantly and at times won't connect back. Customers want simplicity not systems that evolve to into annoying and unnecessary layers of complication.

Won't connect! I've used this app with satisfaction for months - until today, when it stopped working. I tried all the different hacks for restarting the phone and camera, including uninstalling and reinstalling the app, taking out the camera battery and replacing it, clearing all the settings that could be cleared and redoing, switching to Wi-Fi instead of NFC, nothing works today. Based on other reviews this may be a sporadic problem? Is it because it's the weekend? Canon please fix this ASAP!
The app has become unusable. every time I try to connect my camera it's goes through the process connects the just closes.. completely junk!

App won't let you sign in. This is a horrible app.
Impossible for me to connect to my camera, either via NFC or Wi-Fi. It takes a long time and then announce that the camera didn't found my phone. Make something about it Please!
Apps says my new R6 Mk3 is not supported via bluetooth.

I'm not downloading the chrome app just for this to work.
Latest update requires an account to download photos from my camera to my phone. Totally unnecessary. If you do sign in the process of downloading photos from camera to phone is unreliable and will regularly require you to delete and setup the whole thing again which may work on the 150th try if you're lucky.
doesn't work on grapheneos & yet another app requiring a cloud account to manage the hardware you own.
Old app was way better. Now they forced me to sign up new account and now I cannot connect to my camera - the app crash as soon as I try.
Doesn't work with my ixus 285. So now I have to buy a cable. Not usb of course. Thanks Canon
Not Good!
I've downloaded this app twice. I try to connect my camera, my camera becomes visible to my phone, and then when I try to pair them. my phone then says you need the app to do this 🙄
this app used to be consistently good, now it randomly disconnects after requiring 10-12 connection attempts finally leading to a connection to the camera. when I finally do connect it takes several minutes to 'secure' the wifi connection and importing images routinely results in a disconnect.
Has connected once, afterwards is not possible to connect anymore. Wifi is connected, Bluetooth is connected. Camera does not see the connection and the app keeps saying that it cannot connect to the camera by wifi, although it is connected that way. I would expect from a brand like this, that basic functionality like this would work fine and simple. So it is impossible to load the fotos on you mobile.
unusable with 5D Mk2 for some reason and any other legacy cameras (10 y.o +)as it doesn't offer registration for 400d or 5D Mk2 (it's actually asking for a wifi connection... ah sure you could buy a dongle for another xxx amount of money) the USB connection doesn't work,no live view nothing. wouldn't let me pass the registration layer rendering the app useless. Well done.
