Buyers beware, know your thing better than so-called experts.
had to decrease to 1 star since I cannot access the app and the communication with the team is non existent
lots of fake items, like a 18k gold plated porsche keyring for €1 , come on, then theres the ridiculous shipping costs.

Bad in so many ways I cannot list them all here. As a seller you wait several days for a listing, several weeks if it's slightly unusual and they need to interrogate you. As a buyer you have no way to contact the seller until you have already paid. Customer service is hidden behind a substandard AI and when you do get an email from them it's always from an address you cannot reply to and the email will be a few arrogant words of bad English. the WORST is they have weaponised shipping costs.

This app is designed to entice you however i feel its a scam? when you bid on something without a reservation price suddenly you get outbid and the price reservation is 10-15 times higher. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM
unusual bidding system. Bidding extended after the closing time. seller's agent keeps bidding to increase the price. you say number of bidding a person does but you failed to say number of successful bid a person did. its a cowboy auction designed for 3rd world country. no rules. estimated values are fantasy, prices , without evidence. all the above are referred to gemstones.

Fake reviews on here. Very clearly written by AI. just read them. app itself has no option to change currency from EUR to GBP
I ordered two items from the same seller.They shipped my package via DHL,but it has been missing since 5/December/2025. To this day (7/1/2026) ,neither the seller has assisted me in receiving it,nor the Catawiki issues me a refund. I received only the message, wait and contact the seller. As for the reply below from Catawiki, i have contacted you multiple times so far.
they sent me damaged goods and did not take corrective action

Unfortunately I'm can't recomand this action app because second time I buy one necklace and it's not silver. Ok will receive the laboratory test with spectrometer and I will have the proof that it wasn't silver. I'm very sorry but I'm very disappointed about the expert by doing that expertise.

this platform is not for private sellers its become only for commercial and greed from the auctioneers, high commission and minimum requirements of sales so they can collect as much profit from private sellers . do not use this platform you wait nearly 2 weeks for a review then another for it to placed in an auction then another week to be paid .. the platform is a joke, Tradera is much private user friendly
A very “interesting” company. First, you wait three weeks for them to even look at your item. Then they start pressuring you to sell it with no reserve. And when you tell them you need some guarantees for that, they say: “Well, provide us with a full report on your item. But only from an accredited lab - from our list.” So basically, you’re the one who has to bend over backwards, and they just don’t care.
disgusting, you buy and pay for buyer protection then get scammed from a seller. finishing that you need to chase seller and support. Worst service in history and for now scam, from the seller and CATAWIKI itself (after declaring I'm right disappeared with the buyer protection fee and no answer). Disgusting
IT'S SCAM!! DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM ordered a watch from a "verified seller" and after 20 days I received nothing. The seller is now ignoring me and catawiki doesn't even have a phone number to call. They don't care. Do not buy from this app they will very likely steal your money and never answer you. Even though I bought the protection I didn't get a refund. I am writing reviews everywhere I can and posting on social media warning people about this.

Bought a Bvlgari watch (Order 44231525). It arrived broken. Followed all procedures but Japanese seller EIC disappeared. Catawiki asked for pictures and never replied again. Zero customer service support: no contact page, no number, no chat. Total scam. Be careful! Buy some cheap stuff but don't buy anything with real value there. You may get completely screwed!
Very high costs to sell something: Buyer pays 9% plus vat + fixed fee + transport Seller pays 12,5% + 21%VAT on 12% + fixed fee. In total between 25% and 30% is paid to Catawiki!!! Excluding transport / shipping costs
Extremely Disappointed - Catawiki Failed to Protect Me as a Buyer I am extremely disappointed with my experience on Catawiki. I purchased a pocket watch and paid the full amount through the platform, expecting a safe and professional transaction. Six days later, the seller contacted me directly, asking me to transfer additional money privately to his IBAN for delivery. This is clearly against Catawiki’s own policies and raises serious concerns about safety and fraud prevention.

4.3 Star Rating? What a joke! You become an "Expert" by applying to work for this company, don't be fooled into thinking there is any real credibility to this auction site. High commission fees, high volume&low quality goods preferred, worst customer service/communication resolutions only to the buyer- only ever copy & paste answers from both the "Experts" and customer service department. Glorified secondhand marketplace. Other platforms wipe this poop stain off the market, DON'T BOTHER.
years of participation as seller and as a buyer , and still BASIC errors and manipulations never fixed and never monitored, give a nice well done auction house just a touch of unexpertism to some of "experts" , lot of WASTE POTENTIAL. sad .

the bad outweighs the good. the good is the access. the bad is the terms. For example, I ordered an item which I had complained had not been delivered. i was then instructed by the automated message to get in touch with the seller to resolve this. the seller then told me I needed to contact the delivery company, FedEx, who then confirmed they had lost the order. I was told by catawiki that they had paid the seller and could not be reimbursed regardless of my buyers protection fee which i paid

I won an auction and paid three weeks ago. The seller didn't send the item, the sale was canceled, and I haven't received any refund yet.
frustrated by the app as a seller, my account got terminated because I wanted to sell 2 used pairs of my shoes, one pair was not accepted because I didn't have the receipt and the second one during an auction they said the material is not as expected. Really disappointed I have been a good seller on ebay always, anyway the money that I got for the auction was low compared to what I receive, it was just a test to see how the market there works. High pricing fee for buyers!

Latest update removed options to view closed favorites and bids. Very annoying! Probably will turn in to buy-in options... -_-

If it works, it's a decent app. It just so rarely works. I've never had an app crash this often, repeatedly ask to clear the cache to get it working again and then crash again. Add to that the difficulty to get someone from customer support, and the lack of communication between departments within Catawiki, and it's not a nice experience.
