This app is awful. Who are these developers? Don't they do any user acceptance testing? It doesn't save your login details and everytime you use the app, you need to enter your login details which is frustrating. For a major airline, they can't even make a reliable mobile? Fire these developers and project managers. It's shocking looking at the reviews and yet the management is not doing anything about it.

Nothing works, when signed out it pulls up booking but when signed it says error no booking found. Under bookings it says online seat selection unavailable. Even on the website there is not a simple check in button, goes to faq etc terrible user interface

As so many others note here, the Cathay app is awful. Very slow. Very buggy. Error messages appear constantly.
Very poor experience travelling Cathay Pacific. Service has degraded over last couple of years. In flight attendant are extremely lazy and only do basic minimum mandatory service. Ask them anything and they will take their own sweet time to ignore and if they feel..they may attend you at their own will. Can be avoided if alternate available.

Everytime i try to search a flight with different dates it comes up with an error or flight full. Driving me insane. Tried different browsers and also my husband has tried still same problem. At this rate another airline looks viable to travel with.

Had very bad experience with this airline! be careful with their trap. I buy return ticket. but I didn't come for departure flight and they cancel my return ticket as well without any reason & without my acknowledge. How come Cathay pacific as such a big company can do such cheap policy. its called robbery. I Never ever experienced such policy with other airlines. just happened this time with CATHAY PACIFIC. It's so embrassed !!!
The app only supports basic functions such as check-in or review booking, yet it's very unstable with frequent errors. Worst of all, you won't be able to log in overseas without the same mobile SIM or the one-time passkey arrives late.

Worst airline app I've used. It only worked on 50% of the phones I tried. Does not give boarding passes. Fails to do seat selection.

boarding pass to wallet not working, download the file as well. Only possible to send via email. Buy upgrades not possible via apps but only via browser, so it is quite useless the app.
One year later multi city still not implemented (opens a website). And...what happened with the prices? Why are they x3 compared to any other company? Who's paying this? Ridiculous

I have been trying to sign up and what a waste of time
so laggy, basically unusable, latest version on Samsung one UI Android 16 .already removed and did a fresh install
"Starting 13 January 2026, you'll be required to have a verified mobile number in your Cathay account". Silly claim! No way to validate my telephone number. The OTP ostensibly generated by the system during registration cannot reach my telephone. An evident bug prevents in some cases the CP servers to be identified in the network. CP customer service is completely unable to address the issue.

Booking a flight is flaky. If you do get to the point where it actually shows you a list of flights, then good luck trying to select a seat as it tells you a seat that looks open is gone. And then trying to select on connecting flights tells you that you've already selected a seat. I guess the web is the way yo go.
The app asks me to sign in constantly. For example, I'm already signed in, I search for award flights, it still asks me to sign in. I sign in, look at flights, go back to homepage, do another search, it asks me to sign in AGAIN!
Incredibly slow and bug ridden app. It crashes and hangs up frequently. When it does work, it can sometimes take several minutes to move through each section of the app or page. Check-in is painful. There's not really an excuse for it being consistently so bad in 2026.
This app is OK if you want to book a flight, but is really clunky, slow and frustrating if you want to check up on a flight that is pre-booked or get boarding cards. This is a 👎 from me.
