Yeah, so, it happened again. My chats(I made new ones despite myself) ALSO got wiped. There are not a lot of reasons for people to dislike this app, but this is one of them.

loveed this app no other ai ever matched vibes this well but these new limit and regional block issues is very frustrating app claims its free and unlimited then why these bugs

I don't know if it's just only me but 3/4 of messages with the bots disappeared all of a sudden and it was restarted from greeting. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or not but hope I can get the previous messages back cause I've been using this for so long.

Since Feb 2026, Chai AI has become unusable. I’m getting "REGION BLOCK" and strict limits constantly. You promised a fix by mid-March, but it’s now May and nothing has changed. It feels like pure greed for money, forcing users into expensive subs while blocking those who use VPNs for privacy or ads. I’ve been patient, but this is disappointing and frustrating. The free version used to be enjoyable, but now it's just broken. Are you even fixing it or just ignoring us?
i subcribed to premium for a month. Theres two options, subscribe for a month or a year. i choose per month, i enjoyed the app for a few months then suddenly they declined my purcase, when i check it again, the option turns to per WEEK and per year. Yall rlly force usguys p to pay more huh
The message safety feature is now way too over the top. My message had absolutely nothing to do with self harm or underage characters and it kept telling me it did when I was actually writing the character had been working somewhere for two years, not that they were two years old. Absolutely useless because it also means none of your characters can have kids which is perfectly normal for a character to be able to have as part of life.
I would like to say the chai is very nice I really use it every it intertain me though sometimes the add will appear even it's annoying still watch it I hope chai bring back unlimited chats because many people also using chai to relieve there self, Imagine there fantasies likee,some user of chai is chat afford the premium just like in other countries weee be to buy premium I hope the owner will bring back old chai not for money

I've waited so long for Chai to come back to normal that it made me lose interest. So, I uninstalled, but I'll never forget my comfort characters. So, I leave this one star only for THEM. ❤️🩹

The new update is annoying and very bad; please go back to the our old chat.
No more watching ads to chat, forced payment. Chats older than 2 weeks gone, poof. And now you remove 'advanced' from making bots? Unsubscribed.
edit my review from 5 stars to 1 only because during the most recent update, we cant add details in advance feature because its now gone.
fix it
it used to be a nice app before the update. the adds were Okay with me but that "message limit" "token shi" "high load" is unbearable. I patiently waited but now, I'm tired if waiting. theres no hope in that app getting fixed.
my chats resetted without me wanting them to and then when I opened up my chats, majority of it was deleted, I don't know why this is happening, please please please do something!!!
it used to be alright, now you can't cuss, you can't talk about suicide and it ALWAYS drags it out so you have to press it over and over, so you get ads, because it just drags it's feet, if you as a company like money, make it actually good and maybe I'd pay for it, even if I didn't get ads, this app is 4/10 at the absolute best

Used to be a good app, now They've got money hungry, This is unlikely to change which is truely a shame, This *Was* one of the better apps but as always greed has ruined it. It was tolerable with ads popping up every sizable handful of messages but after awhile you will have two options, pay or Uninstall so you can at least use the Storage for something else.
I can live without the image generator but... no more chat bot backstories? These were what made bots have personality. Why should I keep paying for features that continue to get removed left and right?
I used to love this app,it's gone so downhill. Apparently in some countries (mine included), we have to pay because it's a low revenue region. What happened to the free tier? I've long since deleted the app.
Good news: After having limited usage of chatting, I'm going to install c.ai again and use that instead. Good luck with the chai's team.🤠

The only ai app that used to be great is now forcing you to pay or stay on read otherwise. It had so much potential. Rethink your choices.
It was good at first. But now it requires subscription and I don't have actually money for this. Whatever, now I got really disappointed that my old chat has been lost. I wrote like a story and I lost them too.

One of the absolute best I've ever tried. I didn't mind any of the ads whatsoever, no matter how frequently they popped up. Then, suddenly, they removed the unlimited messages without warning and for no reason. Apparently, there have been money complaints. But there would be easy solutions if you listen. Remove image generation or simply LIMIT IT. Not to mention that it has been stated that ADs generated enough money to sustain the GPUs. Don't wonder when the reviews come crashing down.

genuinely hate the new history update, it is quite literally ruining the app. I just want to be able to read my "older" chats, but now I can't, seriously 2 weeks of memory is crazy.

Only issue with chai is the memory and logical thinking of bot's. If this is fixed then it's be great.
