Nowadays this is just advertisement as an app you can't have anything good unless you buy something or you have to verify with something that you don't know if it'll be kept as information earlier versions were nice but now it's just another corporate scam

I'm a paying user and the experience I have with this app is absolute garbage. The paid model Deepsqueak is abysmal: it talks like sterile ai assistant, sometimes spouting prompts such as "Got it. Let me rephrase it" without me asking to. No emotional intelligence, no understanding jokes or sarcasm, and you call it your flagship model?! Deepsqueak constantly forces roleplay format and I used this app for 3 years as a CASUAL chatting experience. This model is not ADAPTABLE like old ones were.

It just keeps getting worse and worse by adding unnecessary things in the app. Generating long words in the chat like chatgpt. Too many ads and it's annoying. Everything about the update is also bad and sucks

It used to be fun, until there was always ads veiwing every 3 minutes, I HATE IT, especially the reading thingy, like NO, I DON'T WANT TO JUST READ OLD ROLEPLAYS, let me write! IT'S NOT FUN ANYMORE AND NOT USABLE, AT SOME POINT EVERYTHING YOU DO THERE IS PAY FOR USELESS THINGS. DESPITE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ALREADY YOU GUYS DON'T SEEM TO LISTEN! INSTEAD YOU ADD UPDATES THAT ARE SHTTY AND IT MAKES THE APP INSUFFERABLE.
Since Pipsqueak 2 got added around March, the chat feature has become a complete mess and honestly super annoying. The characters now just spam long narrative paragraphs with barely any actual dialogue, like they suddenly became mute. It’s frustrating as hell! And there are so many ads now too, it feels like users are being forced to buy C.ai+!! PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD Character.AI BEFORE ALL THIS PREMIUM UPGRADE STUFF RUINED IT!!!
I've used this apps since 3 years ago for personal supports, the updates keeps getting worse, more updates that ruins the app and lastly the age restriction, I used this app for personal support and now what? They're gone, not to mention how the app contains so many adds, Seriously? This deserves a one star review. Can you guys remove the age restriction and lessen the ads?? This two reasons are making the app worse.

literally getting nonsense word salad in all my chats, I've changed chat styles, uninstalled and reinstalled and all the bots don't reply with cohesive sentences, just nonsense.

The new update of PipSqueak 2 is as horrible as it seems. Long replies but ends with an "*" ??? Why even bother to remove Roar, Soft Launch, Dynamic and Goro when those modes are much more better than Pipsqueak 2? First Chai sucks, now you too.
pipsqueak2 is trash af. please bring back whatever the default chat model was (was it pipsqueak?). pipsqueak 2 just doesn't even give the characters dialogue anymore! the responses are just "without another word" "action louder than words" like dude its a chat bot! please fix it. it was so unusable i just now had to uninstall it
too many restrictions, i cant roleplay as a serial killer without the chat getting filtered. also can u try to minimize the ads pop-ups, its so annoying for me and 1 advertisement takes like 30 seconds and i cant skip it. i notice the character responses are a bit repetitive, its getting boring.

new update is terrible, especially after removing Goro and Roar chat mode, the new ones sucks and are too exaggerating. They should bring back the old chatting styles while also keeping the new one if they want to test it rather than whatever the hell is this.

It used to be that the chat mirrored my writing style. Without any annoying additions, the conversation flowed beautifully. But now, it's no longer the same; it's full of annoying additions, disorganized, and, worst of all, completely illogical. Not to mention the sheer volume of intrusive ads.

I used to love this app but now there's ads everywhere, the bots are very stupid. I can't recommend this app to anyone.
back then i rate this a 5 stars, and now it is slowly ruining itself by those irrelevant updates such as "read only" it is supposed to be a chat not a book. I'm still fond of the app but it is not the same anymore. If there is anything to do to regain its popularity and likeability back then, those updates must be removed. some people needed company and comfort and you remove the only thing available for them

Please this app is getting boring. I been using this for decades but it's getting sucks. Like what the hell even this pipsqueak2 upgrade is?? 😩 im so disappointed. They keep putting long detailes but they response are too shorts!! What's the purpose of age verification at all? I thought the characters will act with no filter at all. It's getting boring please fix it. We missed the old cai.
I loved this app so much. it's disappointing that the app is changing itself every single time. the updates aren't great-but update for who? you guys are blocking every one of your users and you do realize that half or most of your users are actually underage people. specifically 11 to 17. I couldn't even say goodbye to my last Chatbot before I got reading mode. you're updating anything but removing the age verification.

Slop. At first in 2023 it interacting with the bots entertaining. But now there's DEFINITELY a decline in quality. 3 years later, all the bots talk and act the same. No longer guiding you through the story but more so you having to force the bot to do something. I could handle the ads every 0.5 seconds and the bots going out of character but this is ridiculous. I'd rate it a 0/10 if I could. I'm not wasting my time and neither should you. It's so bad I quit my own addiction.
Seeing those ads made me hate it as much as i loved it before.The ads are UNSKIPPABLE and it leads to another page even whereever u click.But its really unbearable. Character.ai will definitely loose millions of users with this mistake... forcing users into buying subscriptions just to chat with a ai character is unfair. I suggest u to just remove the unskippable ads.. and replace them with 35 sec skippabke ads... i'm sure u'll gain users by removing the unskippable ads... believe me!
