I signed up for Chef’s Plate with a promo. The first box was cheap, but the meals were just okay. Trying to cancel was frustrating, you can’t cancel in the app and have to go to the website, where the “deactivate plan” option mentioned in the help section isn’t there. You can skip weeks, but only a few show at a time, so you have to keep checking back. It’s easy to miss one and get charged. Overall, cancelling feels unnecessarily difficult.
latest update broke the app. just loads to a white screen.

Another actually said that the account would be deleted shortly and I would get an email to confirm. No email, and account still there. They have staff calling me during my work hours to try to 'give me deals' to keep buying. I told them I don't have the money, they don't care and insist on the deals.
Claims there is a time guarantee to deliver before 8pm but if it's late, blames unforseen circumstances and does nothing

The app is terrible. It doesn't load and I didn't get my box delivered at all.
They have gone way downhill. Orders arrive with missing items countinually. Damaged items. Its handy but not when ingriedents are missing or damaged. Fruit Bag is weak af as well.

You need to pay to see the menu, but you can't cancel your first delivery...like come on. Don't know why they make it so difficult. I chose a plan and can't cancel it 10 minutes later...
be careful signing up. I signed up realized the meal choices were not the best for my family and cancelled. 3 days later I was charged for a delivery that was to happen 4 days from then. So despite there warning that if you dont cancel within 4 days you may be charged it turns out canceling 7 days in advance still ends up getting you charged. Also when I canceled it said there was nothing being delivered so it wasn't even like I could have tried to find something to order if I had known.
Cette application est plein d'arnaqueur qui veulent juste Volker votre argent quand on leur demande d'annuler un compte Il ne le font pas et charge encore le plein Prix pour des comande que je n'ai pas demander. Quand on leur demande de rembourser quand vous avez la notification qu'ils ont passer une comande sans votre Avis, il vous diront qu'il est trop yard et ne peuvent rien faire et il s augmentent leur Prix de semaine en semaine. Ne télécharger cette application!
Meals are super small.
SCAM!! Site won't let me leave a review, wonder why. First off false advertisement. say they offer 3.99 meals, until you go to check out then it bumps it back up to full price. Second, site doesn't accept payment except PayPal, and their response, "we're doing site maintenance". Note to self, spend the extra few bucks on hello fresh
this is a scam, i never even signed up for the service yet the just charged me for the box. i just had everything set up for when i was ready to order, and now its impossible to even try and get in touch with support, their ai chat bot is as useless as a rock and i have no chance of getting a refund from something i never even ordered.
Guess I'll shop with Hello Fresh as they deliver to my address.
I signed up to go in and have a look around to see what it was all about. The next morning I wake up and I get an email thanking me for my order. I did NOT place an order, and I can't reach anybody to cancel and get a refund. BOT! The same thing happened to my friend last night who was just looking around because I was telling her about the app. She now has a $96 order on the way that she did not order! shady practice here, they also ask payment information just to use their app. now I know why.

Do not order from this company, this company used to be good, then it was bought out by Hello Fresh and Chefs Plate was gutted, my roommate and I bought food on his account and was supposed to arrive Tuesday Mar 25 2025, it's now Wednesday with 2 hours and 15 minutes left before they stop delivering for the day if the ice packs haven't completely thawed and the meat hasn't gone bad then when the winter storm hits tonight everything is going to refreeze and have to throw it out anyways

The new app is not compatible with any of my Samsung Galaxy devices neither tablets or the phone. All are android and all are up-to-date.
The worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They'll sell you ingredients with no recipe, then waste an hour of your time with pointless questions trying to get support.
Sometimes the app switches language...and the chat feature is totally messed up... total gibberish shows up in the comments box Don't waste your time or money with this company... delivery is late food is subpar... waste of money

False advertising. When I entered the code of 21 feee meals . I didn't get a single free meal all of them were paid
They make you go to the website to cancel. No way of doing it in the app. This should be illegal.

Update (Jan 14 2025) Gave them another chance. After four months, I have not received a single box that did not have at least one spoiled ingredient. Support still lies when you contact them. App still says delievered, even if you receive an email advising delivery has been delayed. Still haven't received my "delivered" box It is impossible to reach an actual resolution and management dodges any attempts to contact them. Garbage company with terrible support. Save your money and look elsewhere.
I can't login to my account on the app because the login button is at the top right where my phone's battery / wifi display is. The app won't let me click it. Horrible design I have to use the web instead

I was browsing, accidentally ordered and could not cancel. The food was way better than I expected. Would love to make them a regular but have delivery issues. Maybe in a few years I'll come back, for now. Thumbs down. 👎 They restarted my subscription after I cancelled and delivered again. Remember to deactivate their account on PayPal. Chef's Plate kind of a scumbag now. No stars and 👎👎👎 👎 👎. Foods still good!
Problem after problem... rotten veggies, missed ingredients rendering the recipes useless, deliveries going to the wrong places, and the straw that broke the camel's back were app errors that resulted in having to pay for deliveries that I had tried to cancel. Upon customer service they blamed me for their errors, made me pay for it anyway and I ended up cancelling my account. Fed up with Chef's Plate. Too much headache and bad customer service.

I ordered my first box and when opening the jalapeno turkey chili I found white mold on the jalapeno and carrot. When I brought this to costumer service who transferred me to a "real person". They "resolved" my issue by giving me 8$ credit towards my next box.for finding MOLD in my FOOD. Out of frustration I said I was disapointed and ended the message with a sarcastic "thanks ig"- finding out I was talking to an ai because the response I got was "your welcome, do u have any other concerns?"
What a scam. Every meal has a "Premium Surcharge Recipe" which is hidden. LAST TIME I ever order a box from these over priced crooks.
DO NOT SIGN UP THEY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION.
An app that doesn't memorize my password is pretty useless, except we absolutely need it to exchange rewards, so that sucks
Not compatible with anything that they consider an "old device". The previous version was working just perfectly fine, why ruin it for people who don't have money to buy the lastest apple phone. Jeesh!
First week was great as I had chosen the menu. But second week was auto chosen menu that did not fit my medical condition. Was unable to change it, or cancel the box. Couldn't pause the creidt card or cancel subscription, even after talking to customer service bot. Disappointed after a promising start.
Garbage
Its not a bad service, it's not cheap. But unlike a few years ago the food shows up in good condition. They have good meal choices but they charge you a lot to change your meal plan.
