The ap does not replace the web version. It often does not find the product requested. When it does, the reviews are difficult to read.

Not satisfied. Their delete account option forces you to provide all your personal identifiable information when it was not needed to setup the account. I was hoping to stat using this app but its more hassle than good and is very limited.
I can't search using the search bar. I can only search by chatting with the chatbot. This makes it a longer process (for me) to look something up.
Please hire someone to improve the usability of your app. It is so frustrating, I am considering cancelling my membership.

I couldn't log in, I tried resetting and I kept getting an error message that my login or password were not found!! I canceled my membership if I could give zero stats I would. I'm very disappointed in CR! they charge a $10 "processing fee" to cancel your membership if done within 30 days! It's "standard"..

I was tricked into getting the digital when I thought it was the printed version, so I canceled and was going to reorder till I saw they only gave me $19 back and kept the rest. Before that they never returned any emails I sent, so I called & was told they only give $19 back, and they always do that. I used to be a fan of Consumer Reports till they pulled that. I was trying to see if I could use My Money they kept and add it to get the printed version. No response. They've become quite the scam
not recognizing my membership
sad to see that Consumer Reports turned into a Spam company. sends me all these garbage emails. unsubscribe doesn't work.
Very Limited Functionality . The search function is awful. 99% of the products I look for do not come up in a search. I have a full subscription to Consumer Reports, but this app is not at all helpful. I'm going to uninstall it because it's taking up valuable space on my phone. I don't recommend this app at all.

I bought the mandatory year subscription then cancelled to receive the promised one month for $10. So now I get no service and it has only been two weeks. Consumer Reports was once #1. What happened? No longer giving category by category listing of car success/failure ratings for electrical, drive train, etc.

Never ever, not once, did a search result for a product I was asking about come up. If CR can't get that basic feature right how can I trust them to accurately review others? Not going to recommend CR or renew my subscription. Just read the response, I'd love to get paid to copy and paste pre-written text responses. anybody else tired of that?
I can't get the app to work. it remembers me from when I was a member ov er 10years ago when I lived in another country. now the appnis forcing me to stay in that country. I cannot even access my profile to change as it wont let me complete the sign in. A very dumb app if it doesn't let you correct this. Please don't say you need to subscribe first. Tried that too and got an unavailable service message. Have they gone bankrupt?
the app. will not boot up. all i have is a green screen. i have reinstalled it, restarted the android phone, uninstalled it and reinstalled it from my phone and still it will not work.
This app never opens. I've been on a phone support session without success. it's been months with the same result
the initial opening screen stays locked/frozen, even after several reboots and uninstalls, so I'll be giving this rating until glitches are repaired thanks, Kim

can not find certain used car reviews Consumers magazine's are totally better. Terrible app.
There is no car comparison side by side, and it is a very outdated app like their website (the website can only have 3 cars to see beside each other, even if you're using a huge screen), so from the tech side horrible... And that's really sad that their hard work is not showcased in a good way.
Your login has been broken for almost a month! Read your most recent reviews, sign in is broken again. My app is updated. Fix your sign in & credit us a free month for your slow response! Very disrespectful!

Password not working again. My PW for the site doesn't work in the App. I've followed the instructions to change PW and even uninstall/install process. The next step is to cancel. CTO needs to get a handle on his App teams.

2025 update: Same issue, user Id and password that are accepted by website not working in app. The new version of the app will not accept my CR website Id + password - simply unacceptable.
Updated the App, now I can't login. I can log in through a browser just fine, but the app immediately gives me a username/password error. Cleared Data and Cache and still have the same problem. There is no online help. You have to call an 800 number for help, which is also useless. Will be cancelling my membership if this doesn't get fixed.

I am now completely locked out. I used the same log in that works fine on the browser and the app immediately rejects it. Frankly its annoying it logged out at all. the service is good, score is for the app
Every once in a while, I can always count on the CR app to fail to allow me to log in. No real reason; I can sign in on any web browser, but the app gives me an "Oops!" message and tells me that either my username or password are incorrect, which of course they aren't. I uninstall and reinstall the app, but nothing works... and then a few days later, it just starts working again. Not impressive.
useless, useless, useless! I contacted help staff, but that was a waste of time. They have no explanation as to why I can sign on to the website, but I can't get into the app.
The app is flakey at best. I can't consistently log on. I log on to the website no problem but using the same credentials in the app doesn't work. I've gone as far as changing the password to get in the app. That works for a day and then I have to log on again and it tells me there's a problem with my username and password. Very frustrating!!
It's very disheartening to love Consmer Reports magazine and website, only to find the app completely unworthy of the name. I tried everything I knew to fix the issue with the app. Restarted device, cleared cache, reinstalled the app and updated my password. All were met with the same response, "username/ email and password incorrect." Now I'm supposed to call?!?!? for what purpose? I guess I'll take the long way and go thru the website. Highly disappointed.
reviewing SUV review list and as I scroll down the SUVs at the top disappear so you can not see the full list past the top 12 or so. Please fix
The chat feature is worthless and won't turn off so the app can be used like it used to. chat brings up unrelated endless data. whoever sold CR on chat in the app ripped us all off

After being a member for decades sadly it's time to break ties and look for other reviewers on line.
