this app now tells me I need an upgrade then tells me my devices not compatible. using Windows 11 on this device.
Unusable. Locked in the main screen. It says "Continue" when asking about sending notifications I don't want to and when clicking continue, nothing happens. Other users complain this app is a "dumpster fire". Developers, please do something.

For such a big company, it's probably the most "buggy" app I have, constantly glitching on Android.
My phone no longer supports this app. It said to contact the developer
"Can't add item to cart." Before the trick was to actually open the item and add it to the cart. Now it seems the only way to add items to the cart is to "Add more items to the cart" once you have items to the cart. If you search for an item you can't add it to the cart. It has been this way for well over a month. In the meantime we have been buying our groceries from Amazon and the grocery store. This didn't happen with Sam's Club. We probably won't renew our subscription.

This app is no longer supported on my Galaxy Note 9 (ironically, purchased from Costco) which still works perfectly for me. I'm not going to spend $1k+ to buy a new phone just to use this app. REALLY annoying. 🤬

5.4.2026-same trash app. Can't sign in without ad lockers disabled, likely hosting Costco traffic from ad-servers...can't verify. Attempted to purchase gift cards. The PW reset function is a joke. You're expected to have two devices or the page refreshes. Even if you turn off the bio features it still asks you. Cancelled my gift card ordered twice after charging my card both times, or at least pending outgoing. No particular reason why either. Correct, matching info. Upsetting to say the least.
can't add shop card. even called support help desk couldn't help me. and now my purchases and orders section is missing.
OK, so lately getting my RX has been more stable, BUT now the developers broke the physical back navigation buttons in the shopping part of the app 🤦🏼. I have to reach alllll the way in the top left to nav back with my right thumb? Yikes. Hope they address this for users with tactile challenges and disabilities. Honestly, the buttons still exist in settings for a reason. You have to support them...
Don't know what is going on lately, but I try to add something to my cart and it says unavailable or can't add to cart or whatever. But if I log in on a browser, it works. This has been happening a lot lately.
Was suckered into installing this app in the Costco store. After I installed it, I could not buy anything at the food court. Not sure if I can ever buy stuff again. No way to use a credit card. Do not use this app! Been with Costco over 20 years and this is a slap in the face.
Absolutely Useless I just downloaded the Costco app, opened it up, and tried to search for olives. In what universe should toilet paper be the best answer to a search for olives? I continued scrolling, but the search results were so random: detergents, diced tomatoes, a canvas carport, interspersed with a few olive products. I suspect their algorithm is toast. As soon as I finish this review I will delete the app with extreme prejudice.
Billion dollar company, bargain bin app and website. Hire a digital agency and fire your product and engineering teams. The app and website is layered with bugs. You can’t change your payment method, searching for a product randomly kicks you back to the main page, and even when you think you’ve completed a purchase, you later get an email saying the order was cancelled. It’s unreliable and frustrating for something this basic.

I search items and unrelated items show in the search? When I am shown a product, look at another to compare, then go back to order the first product I viewed, it's no longer showing, and I have to search? I said specifically NOT to save payment information, and it saved it anyway. Did not see option to change delivery address. Now via web or app, can't see food item prices without instacart wanting address. then say they aren't near. duh, I want to shop warehouse! extremely annoying.
Recent update requires notifications on to get started in the app. Uninstalling and leaving a 1 star until this absurdity is removed.

2026 and Costco's app still does not have a dark theme. For those of us with eyes that have been burnt by years in the desert this is not optional, this is a mandatory thing. Consider it an accessibility option for those of us with a vision impairment if you want but it needs to be done. updating for 2026. also, for some reason you can't be logged in in your phone and tablet at the same time. the issues you can run into moving your account around to shop on various devices are nuts.
Outrageously invasive especially since they don't deliver like BJs and Sams Club. The app used to work, but now it won't load unless I grant location permission to app. Time to delete and just use the card.
I'm getting a notification that says this app is no longer compatible with your device, please contact the developer for more information. Well I'll just be uninstalling the app because it's a piece of garbage now. I'm not going to contact any damn Developers. It is my strong recommendation that no one be ignorant enough to download this app anymore.
