Came back to DI.FM after a while away only to find that the entire app is subscription only and I can't play ANY music for free (ads or not) anymore. Uninstalled IMMEDIATELY.
Revising my review to also include their ridiculous customer service, which obviously didn't read anything in my support ticket stating that I already tried the measures they mentioned. The only app on my phone that randomly shuts down every 1 to 5 minutes when I'm trying to play music, or just fails to start playing music in my car altogether. I've had the same problem now across two different phones and two different cars, which points to the fact this app is simply garbage.

what a terrible waste of a good brand making this app into a cash grab, but also what a poor implementation of a cash grab since the "now pay us, sucker" button doesn't even work. you know you're terrible at your job if the pay us button is broken. good riddance, it was fun while it lasted
no free mode with ads is a disgusting way to treat users and followers that have been loyal for decades.
After multiple requests via support asking for this App to support seeking to a specific position in a recorded show, there still no support for this basic functionality. This is important when the stream is interrupted after 30 minutes and app starts the show again from the beginning. As loyal subscriber (10+ years) I've asked for this feature many times over multiple years via official channels and still no joy. App support is poor and lacks basic features. Cancel membership next option.
I didn't know that this was a free trial and it ended..... If I remember right I thought this "di.fm" app was unlimited for free, but no it's not..... I'm uninstalling UPDATE4-27-26 I completely forgot that I already tried to listen and got shut off.... I have to pay for a for a for premium..... It's only under $10 monthly, but I don't even have 10 cents unfortunately..... don't get me wrong I absolutely love techno..... I don't have it to give
This app was easy to install/use during the free trial but then it wouldn't recognize my subscription after I had already paid. Technical support tried to help and is responsive but the issues persisted. After numerous attempts of logging in and resetting my membership account I've cancelled my subscription having never been able to login as a paying member.
now it's a pay subscription never waste my money hell no I don't get much money 💵 stop writing me you are asking for money from a guy who is pretty much poor so leave me alone
NO to mandatory subscriptions! sure make some premium features for paying listeners, air ads but don't take away service from people who can't pay.. especially providing it for such a long time for free and forming habits, relationships..
bring back free with ads
It feels like the genres are mixing, turning the only two dubstep channels into the more relaxed chillstep (>90%) rather than the high-energy form you normally think of. (it's the same with RockRadio's nu-metal turning into plain 90's hard rock.) [Dropped from 4 stars to 1 as I can't skip anymore. It's that bad]
seems like its no longer free to listen with ads. uninstalled after years of use 😢
App says free streaming and now I get a message saying trial ended subscribe. Uninstalling and moving on after 16 years of listening.

Once, after I launched the app - suddenly there was no choice but to launch the trial full version, and after it expired - now I can't listen to music anymore until I pay for a subscription plan.
Beware! I just saw I was being charged for two separate priced subscriptions thru the Google play store. I don't know how they did this but it's been going on for months! Better check if it is happening to you as well.
if it could not start itself up when not opened, and not run sometimes in the background, again when not wanted, that'd be great. if you connect your phone to a bluetooth device, this will run by itself. everytime. forever. even if it looks like it's not open.
A shame that this once-great radio is now subscription only. I can't pretend I'm not disappointed at this decision, but I can understand the reasoning. As in every other case, I will not pay for any media which I do not physically own, and will not keep after cancelling a subscription.
Great music but I'm not paying a subscription fee when there's other free services
