Horrible game. I spent 30 minutes getting to the first objective. i might have had 5 fight in total. then all of a sudden there's a huge difficulty spike. I thought I had done something wrong, or skipped something, but no. I looked up a walkthrough, and it said I should probably grind up to level 7, or 8. so 30 mins in, and I had to sit there and grind levels for almost an hour! I don't care that this is supposed to be a classic. that's just really bad design. earlier DQ's weren't like this.
The game does not load properly. I just set up my tablet, so I requested a refund and got one. Then i went through my device and updated everything. I tried a second time, and the game still will not load properly. The touch features will not work, so all i can do is pull down the task bar and close it manually. Was denied a refund the second time, literally ten minutes after purchase.
DQ4 is an amazing game and quite possibly my favorite of the main series, however this version is awful the graphics are terrible and could have been so much better if they botherd to make it HD theres no reason it had to look this terrible, and the horrible controls and lack of controller support make it even worse. Don't even bother trying to connect to your tv to play it cause its awful they could have easily made this game HD. I have it cause I in fact purchased DQ4 but i do not recommend it
The most boring turn based RPG I ever played. The final boss is way to difficult and unfair. Art is fine but the rest of the game is so generic and repetitive. Characters are stock and generic too. I have put 55 hours into the game 30 of them feeling like a waste of grinding that barley even feels noticeable.
Have to play it muted, or live with a sharp high pitched beeping constantly. Absolutely ridiculous!
No UI optimization for foldable devices.
There should be an option to play the game with moving with one hand and selecting with the other... Like an actual controller. Having to move and select with one hand is not enjoyable. Requesting a refund.
1 2 and 3 let me use japanese quotation marks roman numerals and I was using them but this one suddenly thinks it knows what characters I should be using so my naming scheme is ruined :/
I can't turn the sound off. Looks terrible compared to the releases of 1-3.
Random encounter rate was too high. Took all the fun out of the game. Was expensive game too.
Game won't play offline. Looked for offline games, DQ4 was tagged as offline. Paid, downloaded, and got "Failed to activate" when I opened it while in the woods. DRM required online access so I couldn't play it offline.
Totally awful, no controller support and no screen rotation.
Great game, but cloud save was completely broken in a recent update and Square-Enix support refuses to acknowledge the issue. So long as you plan on completing the game entirely on one device, it's fine. But I can't give a good review to a game with broken features.

My favorite series! Problem is, it breaks between uses, so every time I wish to start a new game, I have to reinstall it. Which sucks when google play is wonky.
