The latest update still does nothing for the most expensive power meters in cycling, no garmin compatibility for gen4 and turning the gen5 power up too far for longevity, ebike restrictions to follow now too many amateurs can go pro speeds into a tree or pedestrian it was nice while it lasted.

Heart rate recording Still doesn't work despite buying the kiox 400 and subscribing to flow+ which imo is a liberty for a function that's free elsewhere. My experience of Bosch gen 5 since Sept will ensure that Avinox powers my next bike.
cant find anything useful in the app, it's all adds. I wanted to fix the jerky Walk Assist. theres no decent menu

I can't see any manufacturers wanting to make a Bosch powered bike now and certainly most of the emtb community won't be paying top money for an underpowered bike! 👋

I invested £3,000 in a Bosch‑powered bicycle. However, I have discovered that most of detailed data is only accessible through a paid subscription. In addition, there is no functionality to integrate with third party sports watches, such as Suunto devices. Although I was aware of these limitations before purchasing, I proceeded because the specific bicycle model I wanted was not available with a Shimano motor. I would recommend selecting a brand such as Shimano, which fares better.
not very intuitive
I built some routes in this app. How do i share them with my friends who are also cycling. ai also cant seem to sync my workout data to google fit, samsung health or my garmin eco systems. vwry frustrating. these seams to be avaliable on the older Bosch ebike connect but i believe thats not compatable with my bosch smart gen 5 system.
the motor is great, the app is ok, specialized and amflow give way more features and ride information. The worst part is Bosch makes you pay to see all the stats! specialized and amflow is free!
can't cancel updates. accidentally clicked it, now it takes forever, can't operate half of the settings, can't disable the lock while update is running, also app shows ads and spams ui. ridiculous attitude, Bosch.
I got locked out of my bike for like 2 weeks,
The app itself is ok but every single time you open it to ride your bike, you have to dismiss an ad to subscribe to Flow+. I don't use it often because it's pretty annoying, despite having some potential good functionalities. It also hides basic statistics behind the paywall of Flow+. This all is a good showcase of enshittification through subscription. Navigation is better than Google Maps but worse than GeoVelo or other apps.

Redirecting... Continue. Are you having network problems ? The request could not be completed. Well im not but apparently your app is. Far cry from what it was over a year ago. Not nice to see bosch a part of the modern enshltification club too.
the ride information is so far away from my ride the hole thing seems pointless!
Stop trying to shove your subscription down my throat. Making me close a prompt every start up asking me to start a trial gets you a minimum rating. Last BOSCH system for me.
issues remain with 100nm update being flaky and only appearing for some bikes, even when compatible
holy F in my experience this app is such a terrible UX that it's an insult that they're trying to charge for it: single key id flow is broken, connected bikes are lost, etc. atrocious experience
As long as basic functionality like sharing bikes with family members is hidden behind a paywall, this app is not worthy of a higher rating. People already spent thousands on their e-bikes, but Bosch believes it can squeeze every last cent out of their customer base. Disgusting behavior, but a common trend these days unfortunately.
Typical of Digital software in that is is badly explained. When are these egg heads going to realise that not everyone is tec savvy and that some of us need plain speak. I got as far as being able to lock and unlock my bike. It did record some of my rides in Stats, but severed the connection with my home WiFi. Not it refuses to update or restart the update. I despair of new tec. All I want is a reliable switch on switch off capability. I don't want the rubbish you try to draw me into.

honestly this has locked me out of my bike unable to unlock it and unable to connect to my ebike 3 times now 2 of those I've had to take the bike to a dealer and been late.

"What's New," fails to tell you that the new features require a subscription. I paid a lot for my bike, and now I have to subscribe to it? Meh.

eshift was introduced months ago but the app crashes when I select it, so I can't use it. I've contacted support and never heard back. The rest of the app is great. update 8 December 2025 - issue still persists!
