This used to be a brilliant app, worked perfectly with my subs for El Pais, but now it is unusable on my Android phone and tablet. I was ready to bite the bullet and pay for their so- called premium subscription, ie to get anything at all, but not now that nothing works!
Really bad app. They have a lot of promotions but if they end it is really expensive. And once you want to unsubscribe, the only way to do so is to call some number. This is clearly made to make unsubscribing as difficult as possible.
crashes ALL THE TIME!! Worst newspaper app ever. a real shame since contents are very good. my phone is new, last Samsung flip. i can't open the news from the notification, it crashes, and when I reopen the app that piece of news is not to be found anywhere ( or I need to scroll very long to find it) real shame on the designers. i had the same problem with different phones. i use many news paper aps, all with a paid account, and don't have this problem with any other

Invasive adverts that you cannot avoid. It is impossible to browse without getting full screen adverts or huge adverts that trigger jumping to the advertised website. I am uninstalling

No notification of subscription renewal and subscription was nearly impossible to cancel (and could not be done from the app). App is not user friendly either. It's a shame that such a well-respected newspaper has to resort to such scams.

Se cae frecuentemente. Hay dias en los que se hace imposible poder leer las noticias porque la aplicación cae y tienes que volver a abrirla una y cien veces.
this app needs a paid subscription and even after subscribing you end up with loads of pop up ads making it impossible to read articles. additionally, the company make it nearly impossible to cancel subscriptions and it took a long time to cancel my subscription and recuperate the £100 taken from my account. it is very dishonest. it is a shame for a paper that is meant to have such a reputation. avoid at all costs.

Vaya desastre. Tienen un lío con los mensajes de esta aplicación y con noticias... Pones un mensaje, te contesta alguien, quieres ir al mensaje, y nada, te lleva al navegador y deslogueado. Por no decir que en tu actividad tampoco se cargan muchas veces y que desde allí no se pueden gestionar. En otras ocasiones te lleva al navegador por noticias. No vale el premium. Los programadores deben estar contentos, porque mira que es sencillo establecer un sistema de mensajes medianamente operativo
Cancelé la suscripción y borré la app. Mejor acceder al diario a través de Pressreader que me viene gratis con la biblioteca. Si ofrecéis facilidad de uso y después cobrais por mostrarme anuncios, vuestra app pierde todo el sentido de ser. Una pena...
Totalmente decepcionado. Necesito cancelar mi suscripción pero según Google Play, no tengo suscripciones, sin embargo todos los meses recibo su débito en mi tarjeta de crédito. Ya les he enviado dos emails, sin recibir su respuesta. CANCELEN MI SUSCRIPCION!
About half the time, the app freezes on the opening screen (that just says El País). The only way I've found to get past that is to uninstall and reinstall. I uninstalled the app permanently. I'm on Android, latest version.

Desde hace unos dias, ni se abre. Cuando funcionaba, la app abre la publicidad cuando haces scroll.
La aplicación no me funciona desde hace dos semanas. Cuando hago clic en la edición impresa solo puedo ver la primera página del periódico. Si esto no se soluciona tendré que cancelar mi suscripción.
Despues de tener el modo oscuro años (literalmente) despues de cualquier otra app de prensa, ahora 1 artÍculo de 5 no abre correcamente. La app se pone en un loop de reincio --> abro el artículo --> reincio --> abro el artículi etc.... (Lo hace en mi tablet Lenovo y en mi telefono samsung, no es cosa del dispositivo) Sin hablar de los artículos que solamente se abren fuera de la app y para lo cuales tienes que poner usuario y contraseña.... Halucinas... Un ZERO bien ganado!

The worst app. I have to login every day and my credentials won't be recognized. Need to change password every day to access my account. I canceled my subscription. This app is a joke. Too bad because the newspaper content is excellent, but the El País newspaper executives don't seem to care for their online subscribers.
La nueva versión de la app es malísima. Con lo fácil que era antes navegar entre secciones en el menú superior. Penoso.

Lamentable que no se pueda dar de baja la inscripción de manera automática vía app o web. ¿Que estamos en 1990? Por que tengo que perder mi tiempo en llamar, me lo van a devolver. Aparte de que no me avisaron cuando se me acababa la oferta por la que me había suscrito. Vivo fuera de España además, ¿tengo que además hacer una llamada internacional? Lo dicho, lamentable.

You pay a subscription and it still inundates you with ads including loud 10s video ads you can't skip. Why am paying for this?

Puedes suscríberte y pagar de forma digital, pero no tienes opción de darte de baja ni en la app, tampoco en browser. Muy poco ético especialmente viniendo de una empresa grande y consolidada.

Terrible experience, just subscribed, and unable to login. I thought it just not settled the payment or whatever, but reading the comments here its not just a newbie problem. Much to learn from the guardian also I read,more disappointment, as I love it. I've found that Spanish apps in general don't seems to value and invest in apps development .
I pay a monthly subscription to see advertisements on the bottom of my screen?! Also it asks me to log in every now and then - poor functionality. Some of the news are not accessible in the app and it asks for you to go to the web, after which you land on main page and have to search manually for what you were reading. This app is a straight up scam.

Constantly asking me to log in, also can't read some articles as it asks me to get to the web version. But honestly, worst part it sends notifications all the freaking time, no matter what time of day it is
