Habe mir zum dritten mal Codes zuschicken lassen , jetzt also wieder ohne Erfolg. für einen 80 jährigen mit Parkinson eine sinnlose Nervenbelastung. Im lesten Jahr gelang es mir mit Glück eine Steuererklärung mit Elsterzu machen Hätte es in diesem Jahr gerne wiederholt , wenn ic nicht aus dem System geworfen wäre .

Die hat sehr viele Bugs - regelt es!!
Unfassbar dreist, Finanzamt Briefe gibt es nicht mehr physikalisch und man muss diese tolle App für alles verwenden.

Die "App" ist eine Katastrophe. Man wird nur an der Nase herumgeführt. Von Benutzerfreundlichkeit keine Spur.

terrible security policy. they call it digitalization but this makes me want to hand in papers physically, because I just can't log in. Especially for foreigners, it's even more difficult because our IDs don't work for logging in. Hate this

Nightmare. Tried with the camera too. Just keep getting error message 700001. Yes, I did not finish my registration, because I cannot - please see the text above. My device either offers to scan a code or gives a code, but does not allow to finish my registration.And my password is valid only 1 day more
Elster Login, Security etc eine Katastrophe, kann Menschen stundenlang foltern!
Terrible design, almost impossible to even log into my account and with weird security loops instead of the normal fingerprint scan. Honestly, the entire process of small business registration in Germany has been a disappointment, especially as a foreigner.
absolut unfähig - wofür zahlt man Unsummen an steuern ich muss diese Datei nutzen um ein Zertifikatswechsel zu machen? obwohl es noch nicht mal abgelaufen ist? Hauptsache Datenkrake. -5 Sterne für die dt. Finanzverwaltung

Es ist alles so unglaublich kundenunfreudlich und in Beamten-Sprache umgesetzt. Und das im Jahr 2025....
Dieses Verifikationsverfahren ist eine absolute Zumutung. Eine komplete Zeitverschwendung, weil man nicht vom Fleck kommt und immer wieder auf den Anfang zurückverwiesen wird. Feuern Sie das Tech team. Komplett unbenutzbar und eine Herausforderung selbst für den Dauernutzer von tehnischen Geräten und Software. Eine Schande.
Why do you need an app to just login? Why can't it be done simply via log-in password &/ MFA via SMS or 2FA app? Why bureaucracy must have to make everything complicated?
Elster is a disaster. Logging in is a nightmare thanks to a self-referential auth trap: each authentication method depends on another that ultimately points back to the first. If you're locked out of your main method, the alternatives are useless because they refer right back to the one that caused the lockout. It's a vicious circle with no way out. Needlessly overcomplicated. For something as critical as taxes, this level of design failure is unacceptable. absolutely scum!

Super difficult
Es funktioniert einfach gar nicht. Man kann sich nicht anmelden. Nur Fehlercodes. Zeitverschwendung.
Man wird super oft abgemeldet, kann sich nicht neu anmelden etc. 2 Wochen auf den nächten brief waren, immer und immer wieder. Dann geht die Anmeldung nicht, weil das Gerät neu ist, der Empfehlung folgend wird man weitergeleitet zu "es besteht bereits ein Konto auf diesen Namen" - ach wirklich?!

Unglaublich. Ich vermute die App ist absichtlich so schlecht gemacht um die Menschen in den Wahnsinn zu treiben und es unmöglich zu machen für die Menschen an ihre Steuergelder zu kommen. Schämt euch.
Everyone is still complaining about the same thing, but still no improvement. No matter how smart you are, you can't set up this app. How annoying. Even after receiving the activation code by post and doing everything right but still no head way. German apps are a real mess

Wie immer die Inkompetenz staatlicher einrichtungen. Statt einen 2FA mechanismus zu implementieren wie es microsoft und google tun für authenticator apps, wird hierfür eine extra app gebaut, die weiss gott was im hintergrund tut und mit steuergeldern finanziert wird. Mir fehlen die worte.

Ziemliche unverzeihliche Bugs bei der Authentifizierung mit Fingerabdruck unter Android. Fingerabdruck geht nicht. Wenn man die gespeicherten Abdrücke löscht, kann man einfach seine Pin verwenden. Es gibt aber keine Option bei Fehlschlagen des Fingerabdrucks einfach direkt auf die Pin zu wechseln. Wie einfach wäre das bitte zu lösen?
Scheitert schon bei der Registrierung. App sagt Anweisungen im Browser befolgen und Elster Webseie sagt Anweisungen in der App befolgen. -> Anmeldung scheitert. Supportanfrage wurde vom Bot veantwortet und hatte kaum Bezug zur Frage. Habe nun die altmodische Registrierung eingeleitet und warte auf den Brief. So geht digitale Verwaltung - weiter so Deutschland!
Unable to scan qr code and crashing
My tax number is 11 digits long, but the placeholder on the website only accepts 10 digits and therefore rejected it and wouldn't save the number. This app has so many unnecessary steps and you need a computer or laptop, to get the QR code confirm the app.
So eine User Experience kann nur von einer deutschen Behörde kommen

Alles an Elster ist einfach nur eine Showcase für die völlige Inkompetenz und Überforderung unserer Behörden. Alles, was nur im entferntesten mit Verständlichkeit, Usability oder zeitnaher Abwicklung zu tun hat, wird hier gekonnt ignoriert.
You have obviously tried to make the whole Elster experience as difficult and user unfriendly as possible. Well done. This is a masterpiece. I try to use Elster as little as possible, most 3rd party apps are much easier to navigate, and for 30€ a year definitely worth not having to use this complicated website. Unfortunately for some registration stuff we all have to use Elster, hence the terrible ratings it gets.
Not for High technical cell phones
I received an activation code which contains 10 digits only (not 12). When I try to activate the account I get an error saying that this code is not valid. So finally I can't activate the account. No information in the FAQ section on this issue.
I mean this ist just ridiculous, I want only to change my steuerklasse, I got two letters by post with codes,finally I get there to do it all,activate and it asks to verify with a fingerprint,but I never use a finger print I cancelled and now its a all goes back to the beginning. Jesus its very complicated and absolutely not userfriendly with all these emails+login options and codes and verification. I think I have to do the steuerklasse change per post, wich is again ridiculous.....
