It used to be a great app until they made you buy extra tile packs. Not worth it any more if you want to use satellite images to find camp grounds or see more detail over basic EOtopo maps.
Too difficult to use. Not at all intuitive. I paid for everything, then tried to do a few things and couldn't do it. The app probably works ok, but I don't want to spend ages going through tutorials every time I use it. There are other apps more user friendly than this. I cancelled my account and uninstalled the app.

Semi-functional and does the job but... crashes often, poor menu layout, incomprehensible data management, Apple-like authoritative control over your data.
Disgraceful business practices used by this company. I asked if the app was compatible with Android Auto and was referred to a misleading link on the website. I went ahead and purchased the product only then to discover that to use it Android Auto I had to purchase another item AI box adapter for $300-400. I then requested a refund and because ExploreOz use Google Play to receive their payments, Google Play refused a refund. Steer well clear of both.

Plus the the maps are widely inaccurate, they don't show lot of signposted tracks. which is a pain in the arse when you plan a trip and see a rippa track that you can't do. Edited. Shouldn't matter there's no support. All those maps were already on my phone and as such I should be able to continue using them.
My offline maps have been deleted and I can not use them anymore. I am now forced to buy new maps that will expire again or dump this app. Will use memory maps. I have access to maps I purchased over 10 years ago. Thanks for your response. It is all about expectations, I thought I was buying maps not renting them. I also found that email confusing and did not know I was going to lose access to the maps I purchased. I'd rather buy than rent.
I bought the full res maps a couple years back and they marketed as buy once and your set. We'll they discontinued the support for that licence and now I have to buy again a couple years later. No confidence that this won't happen again.

Difficult to use. Wikicamp is better app to find campsites. WikiLoc for recording tracks.
Needs to be uninstalled and installed each time i use it offline on my new samsung phone , a waste of money
Waist of money
I'm sure that it is a good App, and the support has been OK but to understand everything that is happening and trying understand the workings is far to daunting for me. I had many issues to try to make it work. Some of the You tube tutorials are out of date. So I have uninstalled. ExplorOz, Too complex with the other addons. Those that understand possibly find it very useful, but it's not for me. I might look it again in the future but not at present. ExplorOz wish you a bright future.
Terrible, Can't get a refund. buy Hema instead!!
talk about cash, pay for app, pay for membership, pay for offline maps, what a rip off. So complicated it can't even find simple 4x4 tracks that I know that are close to me. Recommend don't buy it
Won't load the maps, I used it once, worked fine then yesterday I tried it again and got this message "The map engine failed to load - Will retry!" I tried it again this morning and the same message, it simply doesn't work for me.
Installed the latest version on my phone 6 weeks ago and not my tab A. Totally disappointed again, kept freezing, white screen and dangerous when you rely on maps. Have now removed from phone. I've used Men Maps with Hema maps for many years. Review Stephan Fischer All Off Road back to VHC he has the same problems. Even with latest tech it doesn't work properly. If you can't rely on your system 100% it's of no use. E/Oz keeps upgrading but never improves to a point that makes you confident.
Terrible map, customer service is appalling, biggest waste of $60. Wikicamps is 100x better for a fraction of the price. This is legitimate review David, I had even escalated the issue to the play store when you refused to refund me. If you'd like to change your mind, I haven't used the app since I asked for a refund.

I don't have so many issues with any other GPS navigation app, so for me MemoryMaps for all is what I always use, the then Pocket Earth and EOT it's only a third-choice backup app I use occasionally for exploratory searches. The UX is still cumbersome and often confusing.

This app is not very user friendly for people with not much technology nouce. Why would someone on a walking trail or 4x4 track or even someone touring this great country need an aeroplane mode to confuse things. The amount of battery power it sucks out of the phone is outrageous. When you log out of the app when not using it to save power you have to download half the stuff you have already downloaded again. I'm sure the app works well enough for people who understand this stuff.
Difficult to navigate
Great when it works. Enormous forum to explore for info. However, program stalls. Positioning can be innacurate, marker can be stuck in one place even after moved on for ages. Shut down and restart didn't fix it. Getting offline maps didn't solve it. Tracker is also innacurate, you'll find straight lines in between journey or it stops recording part way.

I paid for the full version, but after installation, I found that there is not enough details for the Gibbs river track areas. It even does not show the elq which is one of most visited place
not very user friendly. paid for the app, then it wanted money for a membership/subscription, then asked for money for the topo maps function, then got out bush and it said I needed to download something else first. no idea where to download now that I'm back in reception and can't seem to replicate the issue without being 3.5hrs south again. given how expensive this is I'm not enjoying it. likely need to spend some time figuring it all out. I've sent an email asking for help with no response
The previous version was badly behaved. 7.6 no better. Believe the warning about in app purchases. 149.97 for 3 different eo top map sets and the only one that worked is no longer supported and the ap freezes trying to delete it.
I have used this app for about 12 months and taken it on several trips from Cameron Corner to vic high country. But now I can't seem to access my trips or do any trip planing, I can't seem to make any of the navigation work.
