app is very misleading and shows inflated menu prices. Even after using coupons, price is more than if you just dine in at the restaurant and pay tip
I ordered skewers from a real Chinese restaurant and somehow ended up getting Panda Express that was intended for a Doordash customer. I've had missing items and wrong items before from other apps, but never entirely wrong restaurants intended for a customer using a different app.
Beware of this app charging you for it's VIP program even when you think you've deselected it at checkout. When checking out, it will auto enroll you to their VIP program (their version of Uber One). You can deselect the VIP program, but if you then change your delivery address, or select a coupon, it will auto-enroll you in the VIP program again.

If you accidentally subscribe to their VIP service (which they make it very easy to), you likely won't notice months after especially if you don't use their service frequently. No confirmation of any form. It just keeps charging your money silently.

The real delivery fee always costing 60+. And you will be noticed upon confirming order, which is after you spent lots of time to choose what you eat.
Deceptive subscription practices. They use dark patterns to try to trick you into their $10 monthly subscription with every order.
Awful experience, I never signed up for their delivery subscription but my credit card has been charged for a few months now. Thankfully my bank caught the latest charge. This app is terrible.

Update 2026 May 3rd- thought I would give the app another chance and they did the SAME thing again. hidden fees I never knew I was agreeing to. don't get this app. they are notorious for sliding a VIP subscription onto your bill. (2025-02-03)App was great until They charged a subscription for VIP to my credit card when I NEVER signed up!

There was a promotion where these guys were giving out free boba if you downloaded their app. I did it, but then they started asking for 'just one more thing.' Then it was another thing, and another... eventually, I realized the hoops were never-ending, so I just told them I wasn't interested and walked away.
there's zero support when you need an issue resolved, the entire app seems like a scam when it comes to needing to speak to an agent directly. a lot of fake interface that runs you around, hoping you'll give up.

they do indeed force you to pay a $2 tip on top of what you'd already given the driver. This unwelcome surcharge doesn't exist in other food delivery apps: Uber Eats, DoorDash or even the china-based Meituan of which "Fantuan" is but a second-rate blasphemous copycat.
The coupons shown have many conditions and are hard to use. App is also hard to use. Customer service is unhelpful. When I said the coupon wouldn't activate after I checked the restrictions on the coupon and Fantuan prompted me to use it at checkout, they replied "Not all coupons can be used - there are certain restrictions. If a coupon cannot be used, it simply cannot be used. Have a good day." This was such a bad experience that I canceled my free VIP membership + account & deleted the app.

Atrocious service. Did not refund me even though the order was not delivered to me. Also the VIP is a scam, they somehow still charge me a huge amont of service fee and delivery fee even when I bought the VIP.
This delivery system is unfair. After subscribing to VIP for free delivery, I am still obligated to pay $2 bonus!
Really expensive for a delivery app. If you compare the prices of each item to the store menu, you see that the service charges you dollars extra for each item: a can of soda costs $4 on the app. It's a reliable delivery service, if nothing else.
This application is acceptable for ordering Chinese cuisine; however, the associated fees are excessive. A charge exceeding $3 is applied for driver allowance, and a fee is also levied for pickup orders, a practice not observed in competing food delivery applications. Furthermore, other applications typically charge $2 for driver allowance in New York. While the discounts offered are commendable, the inflated fees detract from the overall value, hence the two-star rating.
