There was a promotion where these guys were giving out free boba if you downloaded their app. I did it, but then they started asking for 'just one more thing.' Then it was another thing, and another... eventually, I realized the hoops were never-ending, so I just told them I wasn't interested and walked away.

The coupons shown have many conditions and are hard to use. App is also hard to use. Customer service is unhelpful. When I said the coupon wouldn't activate after I checked the restrictions on the coupon and Fantuan prompted me to use it at checkout, they replied "Not all coupons can be used - there are certain restrictions. If a coupon cannot be used, it simply cannot be used. Have a good day." This was such a bad experience that I canceled my free VIP membership + account & deleted the app.

Atrocious service. Did not refund me even though the order was not delivered to me. Also the VIP is a scam, they somehow still charge me a huge amont of service fee and delivery fee even when I bought the VIP.
Fantuan forces a "Driver Benefit Fee" at checkout with no way to remove it. Customer service claimed it's required by local government law to protect delivery workers - but under BC's Employment Standards Act, that's already the platform's legal obligation, not something consumers should be charged for separately. When I asked for the specific regulation, they couldn't provide one. Reported to the Competition Bureau of Canada. Screenshots available.
I dislike it. Like many Chinese apps, it is overcrowded with banners and the user interface is atrocious. No way to figure out the delivery fee before adding everything to the cart. Scam-like offers. But if you are comfortable with all of these, you *potentially* can find some good deals and offers, typically better than Uber Eats. The frustration of using this app is not worth it for me.
App will automatically sign you up for their VIP membership after first order. We have been getting charged 11.29 for a few months without us knowing. BEWARE OF UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES!!!

scam- instead of refund, cancelled my order and put the funds in their virtual wallet; the coupon did not apply despite showing through the ordering
After putting in a $200.00 order, they said they did not deliver on the west side of Lansing. This is only service that serves the International Fresh Food Market in Okemos.
inaccurate totals I saw $23, set a $7 tip, and then somehow I paid $33. driver allowance is $2 and it doesn't bother to show you this clearly, it's in some fine print. it also attempts to slide in a $2.99 membership. didn't used to be so awful. as soon as my current order is done, I'm going to uninstall this app. coupons aren't worth getting fees slid in at the last second.

The app is so clunky like those other chinese app where deals and ads pop up everywhere. There was also micro transaction that you have to click off so you won't be charged. As for food order, it got canceled and you have to manually get it refunded or they will add it to credit.
BEWARE: They hide additional "tip" charges (tiny grey text at the bottom when you select tip), the amount there is add-on without being explained. Pretty sure that counts as "drip pricing" which is ILLEGAL in Canada.

App keeps freezing. Horrible attitude from the customer service. Update 1/26/26: -unethical practice. Default to wechat pay every time to avoid taxes. -Delivery tips are hidden throughout the checkout process. In the end, it gives you an option to add $1 or $0.5 more as tips, where in fact you're adding to whatever tips they already decided. -When you cancel an order, the refund directly goes back to your account as credit, instead of the original payment. Basically you're buying a gift card.

Furthermore, other applications typically charge $2 for driver allowance in New York. While the discounts offered are commendable, the inflated fees detract from the overall value, hence the two-star rating.
When ordering on the Fantuan app, a $1 tip for the delivery driver was already included, but it was shown in a very hidden way. I only noticed it after I paid. I applied for a refund, but the money didn’t go back to my bank account. Later I found out it was refunded to my Fantuan account balance instead, and this option was also not clearly shown when requesting the refund. Very disappointed with Fantuan. The process feels misleading and not transparent.
overall clutter noisy obscure app. I get PTSD just looking at it. however it does a semi decent job with ordering. could use a complete overhaul. oh and add are really a tacky touch. I guess they don't make enough money off the service they need to waste my time with adds from Banks of all places.
been a user for some time, lots of fees added including double delivery fees, delivery time is getting longer than acceptable, and today I just found out something dirty. App showing the business still preparing the food after 30 mins placing the order, I called the restaurant directly and was told the order was already ready for pickup, then I knew that the app is manipulating the order timeline to buy more time for delivery. I wouldn't trust the app, be very careful about anything you click on
