Stuck at first battle. waste of money
This game isn't completely compatible with my ZTE Blade A52 handset. the onscreen menu after 1st talking to the princess won't go off the screen.
I like this game. enough to have paid for it. that being said, I can't shut off my phone or change apps without it crashing. this is something most free apps get, please fix this.
couldn't recruit minwu
black screen after intro. game is unplayable.
I just want an up, a down, a left, a right, and an A and a B button. How did they mess that up? Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn the music to the correct original music. At least let me hide all this ugly immersion breaking junk all over screen. I can tell I am walking up because the character is walking up. Those blue menu buttons there all the time are just frustrating in my view constantly. They were strange with their decisions of what bugs to remove and leave in.
Utilities index issues guys this game crashed 20 times today... then the lvl up system don't use the lvl down function... and on onscreen controller would work the tap feature is uuummm wired...
Something aint right it feels to easy exp gain is way higher then i ever remember the game was far to easy before why dumb it down so much more. Honestly they turned this from a fun game that would take over 10h to beat to something you can finish in under 4 if you have half a idea where to go.
cant change BGM to original version!? why on playstation and switch version you can, but on mobile version you cant.
After playing Square's excellent Dragon Quest ports, I thought, that was fun, how about finally beating Final Fantasy 2? Oh my goodness. This is an awful experience in comparison to mobile ports of the same genre, from the same generation, from the same company. -UI is ugly, hard to read, and hard to navigate. -Loading times... Why are there loading times for a NES game? -Online verification... What? If I wanted to pirate this 35 year old game, I wouldn't buy it. Shockingly low effort port.
Terrible. I should ask for a refund. I do mission to remote areas with little or no internet. I bought this game expecting a Gameboy or portable option for spare time at night. I was dazzled that it asked for internet connection whereas this game could perfectly work as it was born, as a NES game. You are a fraud, opportunistic scammers which obviously don't ever leave your cities and think there is no world beyond your roomwalls
Paid £11.99 for a Now Loading.... screen. Ripped off? Doesn't load
TLDR: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME Fantastic gameplay experience, but I cannot recommend this at all. Runs smooth as butter, feels good to play, BUT (and this is a huge but) it requires you to be online to play. This is an ancient game that requires constant internet connection... There is literally no justification for that and I never would have purchased this if I had known. I cannot believe this is still an acceptable practice.
Absolutely useless game. I have no use for square enix. This is game is why. It has a 3.9 rating for a reason.
Keeps crashing on my phone. Also seems like you need to be connected to WiFi or use data to play. Defeats the purpose of a downloadable game. This ran on my game boy when I was a kid. There is no way that the entire game could not be downloaded onto my phoneand play just fine. I guess this really is my fault for thinking Square could put together a port that was functional on any level. Don't give Square your money!
Could not get past loading screen
Text is too small to read. No option to adjust font.
Add controller support
Horrible frame rates and loading times. Frequent crashes. The 3d version plays much better
Status effects are DEFINITELY bugged. PLEASE fix. Courels inflict guranteed instant death even against equipment that explicitly guards against it, and they often hit through 99% evasion. This means there is NOTHING you can do in the final dungeon to stop instant death ambushes, no amount of leveling or gear can save you. The only option is to abuse the quick save. The only resistance I actually noticed worked was wearing the white robe against Malboros.
It's absurd they don't offer controller support. I immediately refunded the game after seeing that. Pathetic company driving a franchise into the ground.
Glitchy to the point of unplayable. Shouldn't need an Internet connection. Should run smooth for such an old small game and should be payable offline
Horrible. Glitches. Drags. I regret buying this.
PlayStation please. Ill buy all 6.
The worst rendition of FF2 I've ever played. While some parts are polished and beautiful, other parts took a major step back. It feels like a half finished mess. It runs far worse than the old version, and in many ways, feels like the beta of the old version. Not an upgrade at all. The music is really good though.
Requires to be always online without any reason or error message. Progress gets lost since autosave needs to happen manually and the game crashes if it runs in the background after a while. Not something you can charge that much for in 2021. It does not seem to be maintained.
I love Final Fantasy games, all of them. The only issue I'm finding with this one is that you took the matching mini-game out for whatever reason. That just kind of bummed me out quite a bit.
What on earth is up with the thin and tiny font? It makes it so difficult to read I end up hurting my eyes staring at it. And there is a TON of room for larger letters. Why?? I can't finish playing it because it's hurting me.
Clunky as hell
Why are the controls so bad!? The menus are clunky and slow, the buttons are either double, or half the size they should have been. The "virtual stick," works, ok. But you can't use it to avoid the crummy menues. Touch move is comicly bad. It seems to exclusively follow NPC paths, so your character will go out of there way to run into any and every NPC they can. AND OF COURSE, no controller support to work around any of these issues, other versions do have it.
Was not controller friendly as I had hoped
As of 12/15/2021 there is an infuriating major glitch really ruining it. If the app is open when my phone locks, manually or automatic after a screen timeout, the game is immediately broken. When I unlock the phone, the game is unplayable. Menus will not open, npc's don't spawn, and when you enter a battle next, the screen goes black and the game hangs. This is happening on my LG G8 ThinQ running Android 10, and only when Always On Display is enabled, but is 100% reproducible for me.
