Won't load past first scene
Dear Game Developers: I'm playing a single-player, offline game. Why does the digital world still demand that I hold its hand with a constant internet connection?
Saving the game doesn't work cant load where I left off revvl6 btw
No controller support. This game was made for use with a controller so why doesn't this version have support for one and why aren't we told such before we pay for it?
This is one of the worst ports I've ever seen. This game was for the NES made back maybe in the late 1980's early 90s. When this game came out it was probably 12 kilobytes maybe 6 kb in size. It is now over 500MB. I don't care how remastered it is, there is something wrong with that. The game crashes constantly, probably due to memory leaks. It runs worse than it did on NES by far. Even walking around on the world map is bad. Purchase at your own risk. Maybe the 3d version is better.
Save game feature is broken on Android 14 (Pixel 8 Pro). Both quick save and normal save are broken. I believe that is related to new file access permissions to "Android/data" folder. Please FIX!
Really enjoyed this game until the app stopped working out of the blue.
App doesn't work on devices over ten thousand times more powerful than what it was designed for. Bugs everywhere, new bugs, freezes, crashes, every problem a braindead dev teamwould have. Also refused refund and disputed with my bank instead as google lied and they have to pay. Devs need to stop everything. You know what I mean
No controller support at all at this time, crashes too often and as there is no autosave, or even apparently a save state between apps--leave the screen, start over. Font is almost illegibly thin. What is there to enjoy is not worth 18 dollars. Bare minimum effort on behalf of Square Enix.
no controller support is hot garbage. really regret buying game, just a terrible experience
MANDATORY ONLINE CONNECTION DRM prevents me from playing away from wifi. The touch dpad is horrible, with NO option for gamepad support. Tap controls don't work at all for hidden areas. Battle UI is terrible. Text is incredibly small. The game runs at about 20fps, despite me owning a decent phone. Awful port. VERY AWFUL PORT.
This app constantly locks up randomly and makes me restart where my last save was. If it didn't have so many bugs it would be fine, but it's unplayable for me. I'm on a OnePlus 8t.
Needs gamepad support. Takes far too long to load up.
Great as I remember BUT I keep running into a glitch early on. When in the dragon nest the camera moves off screen. I can move up and down but that's about it.
Only gave a 3 star I have a galaxy Samsung a11 and it was just lagging so much it was unplayable ill try again tonight but would there be a way for me to transfer this to my steam account so I can have it there??
Can't get past naming characters. Wasted my money...
The game is great, but this game runs horribly on my phone. I can run the 3d remakes of 3 and 4 and they run perfectly. I can run way more demanding games wonderfully, but this 2d game lags, and is unresponsive consistently. Top it off there is no controller support? Why? I would recommend looking at reviews for the p.c version and make your decision if you want to play this game. It's a shame there is no console version. Final Fantasy is my favorite series and this game is a classic.
No controller support and "tap" navigation doesn't work in hidden pathways. Will change to 5 stars if fixed
Won't load past the startup screen. Waste of money. 1 star until the issue is fixed
The controls feel so awful that I gave up trying to play.
No controller support. No configuration of on screen controls.
Can't play it on the airplane. What's the point then.
Single player game, but not able to play without an internet connection. So much for playing in area with no connection.
Updated on 8/26, still can't get to the first battle without the game shutting down randomly.
I'd love to play it... With that said, sadly, I can't. It gets stuck on the first loading screen and then it plays that lovely intro music.. Couldn't get past it no matter what.
Finished the game on a OnePlus 7. The game itself is great while there is a quality of life problem with the app. If you start the game offline then you get an error that exits the app.
Requires internet to play. Complete waste of money since I can't play offline on my tablet and not worth taking up space on my phone.
No Controller support is disrespectful to the fans and the series itself... Same issue with Final Fantasy tactics, how do you take a game that's originally made for console and port it for mobile but lack Controller support?
This game is not running smoothly on Android... The other pixel remasters work OK but this one runs laggy. You should really fix this since it is super annoying playing on mobile. Bring this to Nintendo Switch and make it work please. I'm quite dissatisfied with how this game runs on mobile.
Game crashes often , laggy when moving around and in battle. Take about 2-6 minutes just to take down easy enemies , which only take 1 or 2 hits to defeat 1. But for some strange reason, whenever i fight enemies in the title screen's Beastiary (AR battle) , the battle plays Normally good. No lag , no delay. But whenever the Now Loading starts , when i Load my savefile , it goes back to lag, delays. I can play FF1,2,5 (Old ver), 4(3D) FF Dimension, Brave Exvius no problem , but not this one.
Cant even answer texts while playing, since switching apps exits you back to the main menu. And a single-player game shouldnt require always-online DRM. The times i lose access to my signal are the times i most want a diversion like this. That all said, the core game is still as good as it ever was. But unless the problems are fixed, you're better off playing some other version.
Many of the side quests, secret passages or secret items are inaccessible.
When I play this game sometime it hard to move a character and when I play this game a little bit longer it is going to lag and suddenly screen goes black after that it comes out on its own suddenly
No autosave. Not sure what they were thinking, but this means that if you switch away from the app during play for any reason (e.g. to respond to a text) the app may quit and then you're sent back to your last save or quicksave data, potentially losing hours of progess. Unplayable. Too bad!
Still major bugs. Everything seems to run good if you stay with the starting classes, black, white, red mages, warrior. But when I tried to switch "jobs" to scholar, ranger, thief, knight. Not a single one gains mp as some are supposed to, yes, even after sleeping at an inn or using a restoration well. So all spells become useless in other job classes.
The game has definitely not gone through the finishing quality checks that the remasters of ff1 and ff2 did. It's playable, but you'll want to save A LOT. Anything from black screen, touch controls just stopping, or game breaking bugs like your ship getting permanently stuck. I encounter something like this every 10 - 15 minutes or so. It's a shame since the 1st two games in the series played so smoothly. SE really needs to fix this game up. It's not like they don't have the capacity.
5 stars with controller support.
