Stuck just starting the game, waste of money
Unplayable after recent update. Since their most recent update, the Pixel Remaster game crashes as soon as I complete the resting and ready to begin the game with Kain leaving the Castle. This is the second of the two Pixel Remaster games that is unplayable for me. Having serious doubts about buying any more of their games.
Competitive Multiplayer?
Ever since Square Enix did these new pixel remasters they've screwed over their customers. Old versions are removed from the playstore. You have to be online to play a game that has no online content, all 5 of the ff games. I hope they lose money for this. I'm glad I can review, to say this. Cause I was furious when I found out what Square Enix had done. If they read this. Good. Fix your stuff! Change it back! And drop this dumb need to be online stuff. Taking all that time to load a game. Dumb
How is it possible that a game made for play with a controller has no controller support? I specifically bought a controller to play this and I can't use it. Getting real tired of trying to relive the nostalgia of these games and am disappointed every time. This is why people choose to play on emulators instead.
The nostalgia is nice, but having a lot of trouble with the game freezing up after 4 or 5 minutes. I have to keep turning my phone off and back on. Uninstalled app and tried again, but it hasn't helped. I've spent all day doing everything recommended to fix it, but to no avail. So I've uninstalled it and I'm out almost 20 bucks. What a waste of time and money!
no keyboard support doesnt tell you that. Some of us dont have controllers, and not all controllers will work from I read

No controller support. Everything else is good, add support for controllers and you'll get the missing stars.

I'm saddned that this or PC were my only options. Handheld is the way I prefer and I guess I'll wait on this game to release another way. I've played all versions of this game except for on GBA and as beautiful as it is, the load times are horrible and when my phone is locked the in game clock keeps ticking! Dragon quest doesn't do that, so why does this, Square? If you love this game, play it another way. It's not worth the money on mobile.
I tried to play it but apparently there's a bug of which I can't get the Bomb Ring out of my inventory and I'm stuck activating Mist's destruction event. I'm in a loop. It's too sad because this is my favorite FF game
Unplayable. It won't load on my high end smart phone. I let the crystal prelude song play through five times before I just exit the app
no controller support. very disappoint.
Game is unplayable, it stalled 5 times in the first 20 minutes. the help center is useless, it doesn't have the pixel remaster listed under android. I want a solution or a refund
No controller support on any pixel remaster but the older versions DO!
had to restart game at least 4 times and waited at least 20 mins for the game to load and never did when i finally got the game to load i couldnt use a wireless controller on it.
Back to 1 star because the bug or design to not be able to play without internet is still there! Seriously fix it! If it's by design you guys are beyond lame!!! Overall the game seems to be quite good. Graphics sound remastered music is all great. Controls can be a little touchy but not bad. I would give it 5 stars if you were able to use a wireless controller, and for some reason the game wants access to my camera, which you can deny and the game still plays.
Lack of controller support makes this a total deal breaker. The touch screen controls are wonky and the UI isn't well optimized for those controls. It's clearly still a controller game ... without controller support.
Won't even load past the startup screen! Waste of 20 bucks. 1 star until this is fixed
Giving one star solely on the inability to play on airplane mode. It's totally unnecessary, as the game works fine if you start the game and THEN turn on airplane mode. Doing a check for the internet and then failing if there's no internet is pointless! I sincerely hope the product owners or developers read this. With five other games for me to eventually purchase, you will lose out on money if this isn't fixed in this or future games!
Would be 5 stars but bugs render it unplayable and I'm tired of losing progress because of it. Every time my phone goes to lock/sleep screen, this game does buggy stuff. Typically just stops accepting inputs, other times it will but the screen is blacked out, or on rare occasion it will try to load a cutscene and instead just drop my party in there with no functional exit softlocking me.
No controller support.
I just don't understand why it takes 5 minutes to get into the game literally 5 to 6 to 7 Minutes sometime just for it to load up other than that it is way too easy to become overpowered making it not much of a challenge although it is a good memorabilia game
No Controller Support is an absolute joke
Just not a very good game. Some issues with janky controls, but mostly this game is just tedious and boring. It was seminal in the genre but has aged very, very, very poorly. Not worth the money. Get FFVI instead, it is better in every single way.

Absurdly easy. I remember the bosses being far more challenging in previous ports/remasters. Couldn't remain interested long enough to even become a paladin, despite being initially excited to replay this game in its classic form. Wish there was a difficulty setting like there is in the 3D remake.
No controller support.
Uhm? Really? First impressions. Controls. Not great. A bit frustrating. You learn to adapt. Fine. Which version is this based off? Town of barons grass field, which contained items, is completely inaccessible? Why? Uhhhggg I guess I will have to get my SNES to play this... for authenticity.
The controller support is terrible and that's why the 3 Stars that's why I give it that score. Give it controller support and I'll give it 5 stars. PRODUCERS OF THIS REMAKE GIVE IT CONTROLLER SUPPORT.....ITS A GOOD IDEA. Whoever thought controller support was a bad idea needs to get their heads examined. Read the reviews and alot of others would agree with me. Ok I'm giving this a 2 star cause I can't go into the wall to grab treasures, how am I supposed to get through the game if can't do that
This could have been one of my favorite versions of FFIV, but the lack of controller support leaves it a frustrating experience. You control the game by using a digital control pad which isn't great and there is also an option to tap to move around a spot that is visible on the map. That works alright until you want to find the secret spots hidden in walls it doesn't acknowledge they exist even if you already know where they are and a few of those you will be required to find to finish the game
Lack of controller support is a huge letdown for me. Wish I'd read more about it before purchasing.
I keep on getting a black screen and having to reload my game. It is fairly random and it is making it difficult to progress.
This game's English translation is a step back from the PSP version. It uses terminology from the PS version and even refers to Calcobrina as "Calcobrenas" during a major in-game event. The PSP version came out a decade ago.
I love the game, as it's one of my favorite FF series games. I've played all the way to the destruction of the Tower of Babel, and now every time I try to get to the title screen to load the game, it stays on the title screen. It needs an update to fix this issue. If I pay for a game, I should at least be able to complete it.
Game runs and plays excellent, but the lack of gamepad support really takes away from the experience... Will adjust score when support is added
This would've been a great way to play FFIV if it weren't so dang buggy. Everytime I resume the game after I unlock my phone or switch back to it from another app, it breaks. Interactions won't work, battles will get stuck, menus will break, etc. These were issues that existed in the older versions of FFI and FFII on Android, so seeing them here is just aggravating. The only thing keeping this from being a 1 star review is that when you're actually able to play the game, it's great.
