well, that came out disappointing. Audio often distorted when playing it, and export function is too slow, often stuck forever. If these issues were fixed, I'd give it 5 stars.
The app doesn't work anymore
The notes are never tuned right, theyre never on time when theyre supposed to be on time, and when I change a noted type ever single rest gets changed and I can never change them back. OOONNNEEE

refuses to let you store your scores on your own device and then charges you money to store more than 15 on the cloud
I literally don't understand the point of locking users out of scores that use premium features even though the user did pay for it and can use the score since the user is the one in full control of that. Just because a score has a specific feature which uses premium controls, does not give you the right to lock the user out of accessing the previous score and forcefully making the user pay more money just to access their own work.
$9.99 a month to have instruments is ridiculous
still no dark mode or mellophone as instrument
though it says that I can import a *.musicxml file, I get a Timeout error each time I try.
App will not let me create anything. Keeps showing up with a random error saying it cannot associate something with something else.
Logged me out and lost all my work
I thought about getting the full version to avoid a subscription, but then I thought it'd be a better idea to buy $200 worth of paper and pens because at least I'd get to KEEP the files and not have them sent into an algorithm for another quick buck. all apps are going this direction to farm your content, just avoid these things like the plague and learn how to put in the work already.
Not user friendly. I would rather just write a score out by hand on paper than spend another minute in this app...
Ive had so many problems with this app throughout my years using it and I wasnt too bothered until this year 2025, extreme lag, instruments not playing in parts that they are supposed to play, glitchy audio, 90% of instruments are behind a fat "Pay wall" and I've had audio issues with downloaded score audios. Overall there is a lot that needs to be fixed with this app and I hope someday they'll fix it.
I used to really love this app. It was a really smooth experience with very little bugs. It was easy to make music on, and overall a blast to mess around with. But over time, the quality of the app has gotten worse with every update. First off, I can't use a Gmail account to log in normally without the Sign In With Google menu popping up automatically, which is a problem, because most of the time, it just crashes the app. The music editor is buggy. The menus are the only thing good here.
I've been using this app for months and I love it. I'm leaving a negative review just to hopefully get this fixed or get advice. since the latest update, I can't enter the app, it gives me a questionnaire like I just got the app, upon completing the questionaire I get stuck on the loading screen. Also a feature I would love is the ability to change the note head without changing the sound of it. In the world of Marching percussion this is very useful

Swing options are locked behind a subscription or $300 paywall, which made me a sad sad person because as Louis Armstrong says: "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" considering I'm trying to start out writing jazz, this app gets 2 stars. Everything else about this app seems amazing and exactly what I want, but I can't throw that cash at this for an option as simple as that. If swing was included in the free version, this would be getting 5 stars from me
Since I started subscribing monthly today, it keeps rebooting, showing a dialog "Power user detected." Also, the Flat website and Flat iOS app say I'm not subscribing. Total waste of my money.
Huge lag to load files. interface screen for smartphone isn't any GOOD in landscape position. Expensive upgrade. Best when used on a tablet. The save to PDF is impressive,though. So, getting my songs on printable sheet paper will be the main reason for keeping this app. I am not likely to download the mp3 file unless I have my song that I just want to hear. mp3 on this app does not reveal my created sheet of music. I only plays back the sound. Must close & reopen app to set to view changes.

it's a fine experience but it's laggy and annoying to use
The app functions pretty well, but I absolutely hate how there are features locked behind a subscription that should not be locked behind a subscription, let alone one so expensive! This is not a service, this is a product! Continual updates ≠ service.
Sometimes when I try to play the notes I just placed, it does not play the notes and just doesn't play at all. I will press the play button, but the UI that shows when it is playing immediately disappears. Please fix this and I will give a 5 star review.
