recently, there are Ads (in the application), and it's often the same exact ad over and over and over and over and over and over.. usually for a product I recently purchased. I counted 17 flips that had the same exact ad repeated. it's obnoxious and pointless, why advertise to me stuff I already purchased?
Why do the muted sources in settings appear the most haphazard way it can be, how much skill does a developer need to make the list appear sorted alphabetically?
new policy regarding cookies, says you can object by pressing "manage", but only "accept" is visible. That's it for me. Uninstall.

Once a great news app. Now it just auto opens Amazon every 5th page. Not worth the hassle. I do not recommend
This app has steadily gotten worse over the years but now it's almost unusable as they've made it practically impossible to not click ads when trying to flip to the next page which is not only extremely annoying it's obviously a shady attempt to artificially boost ad revenue and defraud advertisers.

to many ads and fake malware sites don't install. No security, very untrustworthy.
keeps opening my Amazon app without my consent!
I deleted this app today, after many years. the advert overload is absurd, with adverts on top of adverts, up to 50% of the screen, and returning even after they are dismissed. The final straw is a clearly (highly) targeted advert despite all permissions being off. Perhaps the worst aspect, mentioned by multiple other users, is the way it opens Amazon etc. as you scroll (flip) past the advert. This is made even worse when that advert repeats every second/third flip.

Disaster! I like it's app so much, but when I instal my country region: Ukraine - instead see content on my language... I see just russian content, or russian language content... sources. Names when add category to home screen also changes magically from Ukrainian to russian. It's horrible violation and not understanding.... I can just use app when change region to USA and manualy add sources one by one. Thank you for my language is exist in app, but one existing not help if it's not work prop
Login hard to manage after once delete the app getting "try again later" message to the infinity.!!..oh, and my saved articles vanished..I've asked Flipbored to restore my old account with saved stuff, but still no answer. App was ok at the good old days when released..now with zillions of ads could be renamed to Adsboared..EDITED 08th of March-chatted with bot, I hope my old saved stuff can be restored (dozens of saved Magazines and articles)

⟨UPDATE: been a LONG time since I last updated this app, I just did, now CAN'T LOAD ANYTHING, JUST BLANK. open app→loading→blank.⟩ Font size too large, why no way to adjust the font size? Difficult to read title/headlines because always cut-off, and I always just skip past many articles instead of clicking it bcs I don't want to wait for it to load to see the full title/headline EVERY SINGLE TIME. poor UX design, so much wasted space of too big elements when it could've shown more texts instead
this app is reliant on the browser opening to show content. unfortunately, this has been hijacked and, for me, amazon is opening non-stop whenever I "flip".
I am okay with the content served. However the ad service especially the Shopee ones not at all. Most Shopee ads are impossible to avoid and very frustrating. You are forced to see them and press exit twice to exit. Sometimes they come one after the other. I don't mind the other ads but the Shopee ads I do mind!
User for 10 years, now will delete app because "flip" browsing auto launches pop-up ads and redirects to advertiser selling apps like Amazon without users consent. First time ever for Flipboard, feel violated and no settings to control the new ads behavior. Remove offensive changes or bye-bye.
I have used Flipboard since 2012. it used to be a top knotch app and my primary feed for news and information. Now its too loaded with ads and it auto opens my Amazon app all the time. The user experience is so frustrating that I'm abandoning it and will not recommend it to anyone. I would rather pay money for an app that blocks all the ads, than to swipe through all the ridiculous ads. Flipboard you can do better!
Even with Ads blocked, this app is awful! "Show less like this" means NOTHING! It does not matter how many times I choose "Show less like this", for NFL, cricket, soccer, (insert subject), I still get articles EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.I.OPEN.THE.APP! I can't take it anymore, and have moved on.
full of ads and after last update the ads now auto click you to there site. very disappointing. time to find a new app for news
what the actual. amazon ads every couple of pages that open the amazon app when you try to flip by them make me want to ditch flipboard on android. this app is broken and i can't recommend it.
Was a 5 before the nonstop ads
Sometimes I get Flipboard with vertical swiping and the content I like. Other times I get forced into a totally different format with content I didn't ask for, and no way out of it. 50\50 gamble every time I open it.
used to love this app now hate it keeps auto launching Amazon.i have removed both apps.such a shame it was a good app

Too may ads and subscription requirements. Clicking articles to read is almost impossible lately. Can only read the splash text in a lot of cases. In the past week (Jan 2026) I now get a full screen Chinese ad every few flips. when I swipe up it goes into the ad several times before I can get it to actually go to the next article. So frustrating and the ad showing up to a non Chinese user is kind of odd. Very poor ad management. March 26 App deleted. Kept randomly opening Amazon, also deleted.
Nice to see Flipboard moderating non profane British terms while seemingly ignoring racist & homophobic comments. Flipboard is now full of misleading & dangerous adverts as well as Amazon adverts that automatically open the Amazon app, Flipboard is now shadow of its former self.
AI and advertising killed this once great app.

Top of the feed: yesterday, 3 days ago, 4 days ago, 3 days ago... A few posts later and there's one from just MINUTES ago, then it's back to multiple days - and within a dozen or so posts, a MONTH ago. I can remember times I reached the bottom of the list, of current articles, scores if not hundreds of them, without noticing anything being obviously outdated a week or more ago. Not everything needs to be "this hour", but when it's hard to find anything under days - it's hard to see any point.

There are some ads that are click baits. It's impossible to swipe next page without clicking on it. It looks like a onMouseDown triggered event.

Flipboard is fun to use and has a wide variety of different topics to choose from, it's easy to read a lot of articles hours a day.
Now has ads that cover half the screen... adding dozens of annoying X click outs to my day. Ruined the app for me.
It was excellent but now degraded to very annoying due to every flip past the dozens of amazon ads caused a click with intent, spawning amazon to launch... Probably as a result of the way amazon have designed the ad. Flipboard you need to sort this out then I will consider increasing stars again. It had been made unusable and frustrating. Already looking for an alternative. update.... not sure why it is taking so long to fix, simple code change. oh, and now you are showing me ads for porn.
I think most of the ads are dodgy or scams like MYIQ do you even check before taking the money ? Gets worse with age. Honestly I have used this app since samsung s7 am now on s20. It crashes more, when you tick the option to show less sport for example it still shows sport the preferred news, subject choice system doesn't work . Tons of news sources ask for subscription and its slows down when you flip past too many articles . I don't know how they have managed to make it worse but they have .
Lol, I thought I was the only one hating the new ad method that covers half of my screen. Like many other users in 2026, goodbye Flipboard: a decade-long user is quitting over your ad greedy method.
now forcefully opens ad pages even if you flip last trying to boost their revenue. experience went from perfect to barely tolerable. flipboard recommends or people with similar interest read x. rubbish
Nice app (excellent if you like nothing but ads) like others but mine is TEMU goes straight to this in about 10 second I think all you guys think about is ads must be paying you guys loads just for ads shame, just think about the readers or you may get a bad name looks a good app if working good.
