Flipboard used to be a good app. But the app is just ridiculous and absolute garbage. Ads covering an entire article and forget about trying to close the as as you are bombarded ads after ads after ads. We are in 2026 but you'd think we are back to the beginning of the internet. Thanks for ruining the app.
The dark mode is useless because Flipboard lets lazy publishers override it with blinding white screens just to blast you with tracking ads. If the app can't force its partners to respect basic dark mode in 2026, it is completely broken for night reading. Uninstalling.

keeps showing adds I've asked to stop seeing
Tired of trying to 'flip' through headlines while being auto redirected to play store for some jackass slot game. If I'm 'flipping,' and my finger slides across the slot game add, WITHOUT actually tapping it, it will still redirect me to Play Store to download the app, even if I'm already 3 or 4 'flips' past it. Absolutely makes this app unusable. Zero stars.

Bizarre, unavoidable pop-ups ruin it
used to be good, now it crashes often, gives weird suggestions and constantly opena my Amazon app even without showing me ads.
New buckle up ad doesn't allow you to move past or close ad so forces you to close app any time ad pops up
haven't had any new articles in several days. Tried all the standard fixes (cache, data, battery, uninstall/reinstall etc) help and support absolutely useless, don't even acknowledge messages \n ETA: I restarted, I'm setting more now, but NONE below 2 days old 🙄
The app no longer refreshes any feeds besides the main tab. It has been days and days
pop ups that you can't move on from unless you exit the app just pathetic
Used to be great but now it just shows the same articles that are many days old. If you're looking for current events, this isn't for you.
all that happens now when I flip is it keeps opening the Amazon adverts now. they are everywhere and a real pain. fix it so they dont keep opening when you swipe. this never happened before and I have been using this for years.
As of 2 days ago, news no longer update. I've done all the troubleshooting including uninstall and reinstall. uninstalling the app for now.
The ads have gotten insane to the point the app is almost unusable. Amazon app keep opening for whatever reason when swiping through posts. Will be deleting soon if not fixed

Still shiiite. App continues to get worse. I just closed 5 popups on one page. Such a money grab. Wonder if developers will make any changes when 1 star reviews outnumber all the rest combined.
Flipping an ad forces you to click on it. And that takes you to browser or other app
i didn't change my mind from 2014. I still can't add a site to follow. i really don't know why i would use an app with random posts instead of what i want to read

Infested with Ads now. New annoyance that might make me uninstall is when ever an Amazon advert comes on, when I swipe past it opens my Amazon app.

recently, there are Ads (in the application), and it's often the same exact ad over and over and over and over and over and over.. usually for a product I recently purchased. I counted 17 flips that had the same exact ad repeated. it's obnoxious and pointless, why advertise to me stuff I already purchased?
Why do the muted sources in settings appear the most haphazard way it can be, how much skill does a developer need to make the list appear sorted alphabetically?
new policy regarding cookies, says you can object by pressing "manage", but only "accept" is visible. That's it for me. Uninstall.
too many ads
recent update started opening Amazon app every 10th flip or so, removed the Amazon app and now it opens a browser going to the Amazon website. have used the app for years was great till this started happening. if it's not fixed soon I'll be uninstalling.
Once a great news app. Now it just auto opens Amazon every 5th page. Not worth the hassle. I do not recommend
This app has steadily gotten worse over the years but now it's almost unusable as they've made it practically impossible to not click ads when trying to flip to the next page which is not only extremely annoying it's obviously a shady attempt to artificially boost ad revenue and defraud advertisers.
my original review: Top notch. Easy to use. Fantastic content I've now uninstalled. they've started popping up the amazon app as you flip. forcing you to close it every few flips. I don't mind flipping past ads. this though...nope. You're opening apps on My phone. Nope. uninstalled
bloatware
There is a bug when trying to opt of of information being sold that doesn't show "save and exit" on the screen so I cant update this setting, all I can do is toggle it on and cancel. feels intentional
to many ads and fake malware sites don't install. No security, very untrustworthy.
keeps opening my Amazon app without my consent!
I deleted this app today, after many years. the advert overload is absurd, with adverts on top of adverts, up to 50% of the screen, and returning even after they are dismissed. The final straw is a clearly (highly) targeted advert despite all permissions being off. Perhaps the worst aspect, mentioned by multiple other users, is the way it opens Amazon etc. as you scroll (flip) past the advert. This is made even worse when that advert repeats every second/third flip.
to many bloody ads, the show less like this setting does absolutely nothing,articles from months ago,uninstalled.
