it's now 2:49 my order was supposed to be ready at 2 at this is bs . never again , just standing in the store
this is some infuriating service. first I show up to claim my paid for order, then I get told I can't claim it until the next day. now it's the next day, I hit the button to confirm my arrival, and I've been waiting next to the pickup zone sign over 10mins since seeing "merchant was notified". finally someone shows up at customer service so I carry the pickup zone sign to customer service and ask them if it means anything. I get told I needed to tell somebody? what was the point of the button?
I have fully supported and spent over $500 through this app. everything was going along perfectly fine right up until the moment where I had to get a refund because two of the orders didn't have one of the items each. cost me eight days of not being able to access my money in my account, it cost me $106 being held back of my money on top of the money that they already took out of my account. their refund system is a nightmare which makes this not worth it!!
the app takes like atleast 5 minutes to load things and this is the only one taking long to open or if it works, pictures never load
Had to get a store employee to help with the download cause it wouldnt work properly( took approximately a half hour for the employees to figure it out)...received steak...frozen , turning color and freezer burnt. I was very disappointed and was refunded my money. Deleted the app. Just mark it down 50% off on the shelf...like it used to be where you can see it before you buy it and its not frozen.
Not a bad looking app, but the overall experience using it isn't that good. Why do you even pretend to have a search feature when it doesn't work? I even searched for an item that I could see in the app, still nothing. If it did work ,it sure would be nice to search all the stores, not just one one I had to open, so i can already see what's (not) there that I may want.
Please fix the cart! When I add stuff to my cart those items should be held for at least 2 minutes. When I click Checkout, my cart has been updated and items have been removed! If I add items to my cart, KEEP THEM THERE.
Most of the items do not have images, so if it's not something you normally buy, it's hard to know what your actually buying. When you do order something, it takes forever to pick up. Took 30 minutes to pick up 3 items...
I've downloaded and unfortunately it only shows Sobeys in Ontario. I'm in Scarborough, Ontario and nothing. I was unable to even us it.
I placed an order, and the store said they lost or didn't have the product. they claim it they get lots of problems with the order system. I use food hero because I am poor. and my refund won't come for 5 business days. be warned and use at your own risk!!
The app is getting less and less convenient. I state again, add the option to buy bags.
I thought it was going to be a variety of grocery stores. That is not the case at least here in Ontario. I put in several zip codes and the only thing that came up was Sobeys. I decided to try it and It was a total waste of money! Even with the $5 off for the first time. I feel like I got ripped off. 2 small packs of turkey sausage, 1 very freezer burnt top sirloin, 1 pork chop for a total of $15. The meat department took forever like they weren't expecting an order. Total miss! 0
Of the 3 food waste apps out there this is definitely the worst. They only have listing with big corporations. I'm pretty sure their main goal is to enrich themselves. How much do they scim from the listings as they kick back in their comfortable lives. Thinking they are so " tech savvy"
My experience with FoodHero has been very disappointing. Service is unreliable (poor product quality and inconsistent experience), also email practices are problematic. I’ve tried multiple times to unsubscribe, and the unsubscribe link does not work. I also sent direct requests to be removed, which were ignored. I have now filed a complaint under Canada’s anti-spam legislation. Companies are required to provide a functioning unsubscribe option and respect removal requests.
Doesn't give clarity on how long you have to pick up your food(shelf life) until after purchase. Flashfood app is way better.
Problems Installing / Uninstaller the App
with only three connected overpriced franchise stores in this app, the savings are worthless. uninstalled as quickly as I installed.

They also charge a flat fee rather than a % of the cost, which means it is only worth it to place larger orders. It makes more food waste compared to Flashfood.
I like the idea of the app, but it would be good if they included either dietary info or an ingredients list for the items. As I have dietary restrictions, I didn't find the app very useful.

I thought this app was good, until I noticed they charge a service fee on every order. So much for food savings.
Great app when it works but most times I try to use it I'm just stuck looking at a spinning wheel. I've spent more time trying to debug and make it work than shop with it. Would really like it if the devs made it more functional.
Intuitive UI but flawed UX. Critical rendering issues prevent product images from loading, blocking the user journey. The 'Promo codes' category is a non-functional empty state: its nested sections, 'Save more' and 'Refer a friend', lack any backend logic to retrieve discounts. Finally, the 'Feedback' module shows a major QA/Content oversight: the Accuracy, Quality, and Speed categories all share the same duplicated string. Needs a rigorous QA audit.
I used to love FoodHero but for a while now, I can't complete orders on my Android phone. I get a java error. Tried uninstall, update my phone, etc but it won't fix it I reach out to customer service but nothing was fixed Mind you, I have no issue when I use my Ipad
it's a great idea. but nowhere in the app, does it state you have to wait the next day for pickup. and all items were frozen and days past the expiration date. who wants frozen brownies, Frozen pastries, who come up with this? terrible, terrible terrible
Wouldn't have bothered downloading if I had known the app was only for Canada. My address in the US just gets an "invalid error"
