I thought it was going to be a variety of grocery stores. That is not the case at least here in Ontario. I put in several zip codes and the only thing that came up was Sobeys. I decided to try it and It was a total waste of money! Even with the $5 off for the first time. I feel like I got ripped off. 2 small packs of turkey sausage, 1 very freezer burnt top sirloin, 1 pork chop for a total of $15. The meat department took forever like they weren't expecting an order. Total miss! 0
Of the 3 food waste apps out there this is definitely the worst. They only have listing with big corporations. I'm pretty sure their main goal is to enrich themselves. How much do they scim from the listings as they kick back in their comfortable lives. Thinking they are so " tech savvy"
My experience with FoodHero has been very disappointing. Service is unreliable (poor product quality and inconsistent experience), also email practices are problematic. I’ve tried multiple times to unsubscribe, and the unsubscribe link does not work. I also sent direct requests to be removed, which were ignored. I have now filed a complaint under Canada’s anti-spam legislation. Companies are required to provide a functioning unsubscribe option and respect removal requests.
Doesn't give clarity on how long you have to pick up your food(shelf life) until after purchase. Flashfood app is way better.
Problems Installing / Uninstaller the App
with only three connected overpriced franchise stores in this app, the savings are worthless. uninstalled as quickly as I installed.
FoodHero lets grocery stores make up higher original prices so they can claim their new price is discounted. Example: Sobeys on FoodHero advertising "Pot Roast Boneless Blade 1.1kg for $21, marked down from $42, frozen on best before date", Then you look at Metro regual price for the exact same product, but fresh and not expiring is $22/kg. This app is just another means of exploiting lower income people. There is no oversight or consumer protection.
Nonfunctional for days even with a cache clear and complete reinstall.
Dont use. You thin your getting a good deal but than they add multiple dollars of service fees on to your bill. The items are already discounted in store for aimilar/cheaper. Terrible scam.

service à la clientèle absolument pathétique, dommage car le reste est très cool. pas capable d'admettre leur propre erreur ils essaient de mettre ca sur mon dos. Ils raccrochent au nez et traite les clients comme des menteurs avec un ton irrespectueux Rémy

Great app when it works but most times I try to use it I'm just stuck looking at a spinning wheel. I've spent more time trying to debug and make it work than shop with it. Would really like it if the devs made it more functional.
Intuitive UI but flawed UX. Critical rendering issues prevent product images from loading, blocking the user journey. The 'Promo codes' category is a non-functional empty state: its nested sections, 'Save more' and 'Refer a friend', lack any backend logic to retrieve discounts. Finally, the 'Feedback' module shows a major QA/Content oversight: the Accuracy, Quality, and Speed categories all share the same duplicated string. Needs a rigorous QA audit.
I used to love FoodHero but for a while now, I can't complete orders on my Android phone. I get a java error. Tried uninstall, update my phone, etc but it won't fix it I reach out to customer service but nothing was fixed Mind you, I have no issue when I use my Ipad
it's a great idea. but nowhere in the app, does it state you have to wait the next day for pickup. and all items were frozen and days past the expiration date. who wants frozen brownies, Frozen pastries, who come up with this? terrible, terrible terrible
Wouldn't have bothered downloading if I had known the app was only for Canada. My address in the US just gets an "invalid error"
ordered vegetables from IGA and they literally didn't prepare my bag and so I waited. they handed it to me and I got home and to my horror the vegetables were 90% rotten. and I mean mold and horrible smells and leaking brown liquid from the rot from the packages. the only thing I managed to save was 1 yam. and it was not even worth 20$ of vegetables I barely got 15$ worth plus it was leaking from rot and horrible smells and mold. my thumb went through the red pepper when I grabbed, GROSS
