very bad for the adverts. as you scroll down it seems to just repeat the same cars quite a lot. better with the Web page than the app.
Since the big update, the app is much slower and more difficult to use. But worst of all, they now allow sale of live animals, making it too easy for irresponsible breeders/puppy farms to profit while hiding poor conditions and neglect behind photos and vague descriptions. There's very little meaningful screening of buyers or sellers. Platforms like this contribute to abandonment and suffering when people buy animals without understanding the long-term responsibility involved.

I used Gumtree mainly for selling local products, and it used to be a great platform for that. But over the past month or so, things have gotten really frustrating. AI systems seem to be randomly suspending Marketplace access or banning accounts without any clear reason. There’s little to no explanation provided, and the support system is not helpful at all. It’s become very difficult to run a small business this way. Because of this, Gumtree is no longer useful for me as a selling platform

I cant even search for things app is slow and buggy wont load simple searches just stick with the Web page this app sucks
The algorithm ( or more likely, developers ) suffer a serious flaw. The distance calculator doesn't and never has to my knowledge, work. This means you end up scrolling through hundreds of vehicles and wasting your time. despite loads of complaints over the years from consumers they do nothing because they think just because you set a 50 mile limit you'll probably be interested in one 300 miles away.
Awful app. Really glitchy and not user friendly. Won't let me edit or delete my ads or my account. Full of time wasters anyway. Will not be using Gumtree again. There are much better platforms.
cannot change the order of pictures
I have made four purchases on gumtree in the last month. Every single one of them cancelled because the sellers listed their items with delivery, but then have ghosted me, or diddnt actually want to post the item. What's the point of a buy and sell app where sellers don't understand that delivery means they need to post an item. Also no way to review sellers where they don't respond to messages or don't dispatch a sold item. Will be going back to Vinted!
Never seen worse search engine. Searching for "Hybrid bike" show hybrid cars only. Not a single bicycle in results. Back to marketplace then
What has happened to this app? Messages not updating or sending, constant network errors, no wonder user numbers are plummeting. Cant add video. Needs to be better than this UPDATE. I have to post this here since there is no direct way to contact gumtree on the app. now when I'm posting its telling me my items are available for delivery when I've already selected no.

Notifications don't come through on phone despite being enabled. Occasional email many hours later if yr Lucky
cannot get past verification to enable me to deliver goods I.e. get address label.

Impossible to scroll past amazon adverts without the app opening them as you use your finger to scroll. Such a jarring experience it's virtually unusable
Trying to charge me to list a car saying thaty previous history tells them I'm a dealer. It has been over 2 years since I listed a car and I have listed about 5 in total over 12 years
Guessing it's the app but I always reply to a interested buyer then the reply never gets read and I hear nothing back from the buyer. It seems people are not getting messages. Everything I've listed on gumtree normally just gets sold from eBay instead
this is absolutely rubbish nowadays, keeps kicking you off ,even though your meant to be signed in. wouldn't recommend this ever again.
Have to log in every time I use it, very annoying, just leave me logged in!

YOU NEED TO TAKE HOLDING DEPOSIT OF £50 FOR ANY CAR VEHICLE VIEWINGS ARRANGED.. SITE FULL OF EUROPEAN SCAMMERS AND DODGY PEOPLE. GENUINE PEOPLE WILL HAVE NO ISSUE PAYING A REFUNDABLE FEE/SECURITY ID

why have they altered the app when you go and look up an advert quite clearly displays the price. why have they now got make a offer this is part of the app. it was far better when they had on the app no offers because the way they've got it now people want 80% off the asking price. they be better changing the app to no offers. people want 80% or more discount from the asking price these are the type of people that are buying stuff really cheap to be able to sell at car boot sell at prophet
Only good for local deals, shipping stuff is an absolute joke. No effort to enforce the sale, impossible to get to customer support, reporting listing does nothing, and then the next day you've been refunded the same listing is back again. Utter crapshoot of an attempt to compete with ebay
Recent marketing messages being run through non-marketing notification channels. Spam is spam.
don't like having to sign in every single time when it's an app. I downloaded it to try to save time. otherwise aesthetically clean and easy to understand/ navigate, not used it more to have any additional feedback either way.
