Can't even post a free ad anymore, just posting 1 ad at the cheapest bundle cost me $14. Don't even need boosting or perks either. Greedy bloodsuckers they are, better to find another app if you don't want to pay $14 for every ad MINIMUM not including any add ons and boosts they shove down your throat before checkout.

May 2026 and latest update has ruined gumtree again! you had it great and now it's nearly unusable. The search location was perfect, why would you change!!?? Now it is completely stuffed...... Trying to load ads I am mostly met with the dreaded "something went wrong" Go back to the previous version ffs. There was literally NOTHING wrong with it!!!!
having to now pay for a Gumtree ad is criminal, whatever you're selling list it on marketplace

Congratulations you've found a way to make the App look and function worse! Please rollback to about 18mths ago When gumtree was a pleasant app to use. Every Reviewer is telling you Gumtree that you've completely stuffed up a great app in last 2 year's. what more do we need to say to get you morons to roll back app about 18 months 😠 update May 2026 now they made changing locations in search a Pain I had nice collection of areas that were one touch to change. they just can't leave things alone
The advertising in this app now takes up half the screen AND I AM A PAYING USER WHO PAYS TO LIST ITEMS. I shouldn't need to "raise a support ticket" for the developers to know how bad their user interface is when HALF THE APP IS FILLED WITH ADS.
paid car and real-estate ads ruin the all categories feature , either have an option to remove ads by companies or remove whole categories.
Selling my near new Ford Everest and I cannot edit the price. Something about I must edit text to use only English letters, numbers and symbles. checked my narrative 8 times and all is good, but still unable to edit anything. Cannot search specific locations. Will only allow me to use "current location" which comes up Carbrook. 20 km from where I live.

don't bother. there are so many classifieds out there find one who has actual technical support. I have a message alert but after going to check messages there are none there! minor glitch I was told is because of a possible blocked account! but my account is new and there aren't any! they just handballed me hoping it would go away. HOW DISGUSTING. and there developer response is seemingly computer generated like all as I did contact customer support and got nothing from it as this review says!
For the second time in a couple of years, my account could be accessed but I can't delete my ads or put new ones up. had to make another account, again. so I loose contacts and reputation as a seller. very poor. would be great if you could contact help desk and get an answer??? The functionality of this app is diabolical. I hardly ever get an alert for new messages even though EVERYTHING is turned on to doing so. It's clear why most ppl don't even use it any more. Fix the thing ALREADY!!!

Gumtree is dead, literally no one uses it anymore, it gets zero traffic. Thanks to eBay for killing what once was such a great free platform to sell on.
Market place does not charge
full of click bait and ads when your item post expires the repost option has a bug where it doesn't repost it continues to remain on the expired list why would anyone pay for a bump up when the standard option doesn't even work correctly

Gone backwards This app used to work now it's hopeless, the search filters don't even try to work. Set price to cheapest and it's all over the place, doesn't make sense at all. The vehicle adds are all car yards and they want ridiculous prices for listing on there. It needs to be around as competitive market to Facebook but it feels like its doing a pump and dump before it goes out of business.
1. Gumtree pay is a scam. Why am I paying $120 transaction fees on an $8000 car when it takes over a week for the funds to go onto the sellers bank??? This is 1960's speed at 2050 prices. 2. The seller (often businesses) can put any BS into the ad so searching for products is useless (eg: mileage of a car).
the worst app. tried logging on with two email accounts and Facebook. constant errors, incorrect phone numbers not in use, passwords changed but don't work. what an absolute joke. Gumtree is dead.
ABSOLUTELY USELESS AND HAD NO RESPONSES FOR A MONTH. I have same items listed and more on marketplace and it's all going out the door, here is pathetic. I have new expensive mobile and Gumtree still has issues. Fix scrolling bug
extremely slow web application + annoyingly heavy on the browser and ram + many functions do not work, eg, reposting stuff in app as well as web. I have completely switched to Facebook marketplace and eBay.

Used to be my go to, but now it links to ali express every couple of minutes.
I don't normally like downloading apps for everything, and I'd rather use gumtree though my browser. However, the web version of gumtree is so uncomprehendingly terrible, it forces you to download the app. from message conversations taking over 15 seconds to load, to the inability to view someone's profile due to it timing out, and falling to save listing edits, it seems like the devs specifically made the web version bad so people use the app instead. very disappointed.
I don't know what's going on lately, but they keep messing with the search function and breaking it.
Used to be reliable, now it somehow forgets to notify me of new messages I have received. Not a good look. Yes I have notifications turned on. No, I don't receive them.

The UI of this app is utter trash. When trying to scroll through listings of a search, the top of your screen is covered with search filters and options (just put it all in a bloody menu out of the way) and the bottom has ads, theres just a tiny window where you can actually see listings and it makes the experience very very uncomfortable. Do better, its really not that hard.
Used to be great. Unusable now due to constant Temu Ads.

clunky. buggy. Even now, won't load directly, yet if I go into my email and open search alerts it works fine. Can see why people increasingly sell and search on other platforms. Gumtree have been around a long time. No excuse for not sorting this kind of stuff out. -response to canned developer comment --sorry, I'm not here to do your testing on what is your core business and objective for Gumtree --- just look at the trend of listings relative to your competitors. you will know when it's righ
