I would definitely give 5 stars! But! There are so many cheating players. Many accounts steal pictures from professional photographers in the internet, post them as their own, win challanges, collect awards and call themselves Guru. There should be a MUST to provide a metadata of the image...now...it's just sad. When you see a new person joining the platform, posting few absolutely stunning wildlife photography images and having nothing else, no other photos, no metadata...it's really sad.

Feels like the 1 vs 1 games are rigged. I emailed the customer care team in December and still have not received a response from them. I eventually deleted my photos and uninstalled the app.
why is it taking me to notification settings for gurushots every time I open the app i don't want to give notification permission i already said no and it keeps taking me to settings
it's a photography app and tells me that the picture taken on my phone is too big. it's a picture. you're a picture app. how the hell do I put my best shots up??? absolute waste of time
you cant even open it if you download it???
doesn't load... on first launch it asks me to continue (or sign in below) and forever just blue circle like its loading on poor speeds... (I have 100gb p/s). would love to give a go.

90% of the people on this app are very inexperienced. your photos will not get the appreciation they deserve
Completely fake and flooded with fake accounts or AI posting photos off Google. Voting is also rigged, some guy won a flower photo contest with a small bundle of Hydrangeas. Dont waste your time or give your work away for free.
Advice to all those who are amateurs or PRO photographers for whom photography is more than just squeezing a circle on a smartphone to avoid Gurushots in a big way. A community that is getting worse day by day and dominated not by amateurs but by people who know nothing about photography. And it is not a shame not to know, but a shame not to want to know. Such people win here with completely worthless photos.
they changed it all. I can't see who i followed, change accounts, or do anything? what happened? iv lost so many great photos I have taken over the years. disappointed 😞
Paid game, not free
horrible app. this has pretty much nothing to do with photography. good concept, greedy execution leading to a frustrating experience if you are looking for anything related to actual photography. If you you want to see your well lit scene, posed and crafted with intention lose to a blurry or over saturated picture of a flower because someone was on the right team or spent for a boost... this is the app for you.
the voting system sucks. now it's more about timing than quality. and now the app interface sucks too
The current version has not worked for a week, big bad on GS for lack of fixing the problems reported world wide by many people. If I could give minus 5stars I would.
The last update just ruined the experience, it's getting worse.

It's a scam. the only way to win is pay. it wasn't like that in the good old days but the company became greedy and applied shady tricks to get users to spend more to win the highlight of the game is turbo. without that you can't win or even finish in the top 100. Funny how in the mini game often off topic photos win while they shouldn't be even there. Well support crassly told that's user fault as they not report off topic pictures! they get to use their images to train AI, it says so in the terms of service. Something seems really fishy about this app. I've seen the same exact photo entered on two separate Challanges by two different people. Also, if we were dealing with real people, not everyone is going to have the same exact copy and pasted profile picture. Different faces, slightly different pose, but they all have the same look and feel. I've read reviews on here. It seems like there are some genuine people having the app...I just dont think that what I see is from real people. They are Bots
I used to like this app to get inspiration for my photos and just spread some likes to people but recently it has just become a p2w site where you need to pay money to enter. This is just gatekeeping new people getting into the hobby. worst app ever pls uninstall
I am 71 tears old and have an account with Guru Shots. Once before, they helped me get back into it, and I was so excited. Since then, I had lost my phone that was associated with my account, and several times I have tried to get them to help me get back into it but so far no assistance from them I am very unhappy.
I tried all day to open the app, and it's not working , it's crashing . it's not the first time when it's happening.

app keeps crashing and no swap backs anymore. after coming back to gurushots after a year or so i was unable to access my old account with a Facebook login. Since creating a new account ive had issues with crashing and I miss the old tactical swap back that we used to be able to do. it definitely feels more like a money grab app these days.
loading of app had clicked on "Play" but it just kept on loading and that took more than 3 mins and still loading.. had also unstall and reinstall the app the loading still the same
Wish there were other options to being able to earn coins. IE watching an ad or games? The coins to enter are a bit much. 50 coins or 100 coins just for one photo I feel is a bit excessive. Maybe for exhibitions and magazine entries, but not all of them should be that much. I want to participate so much more ....but I can't afford to buy coins to submit my photos, I wish I could play games to earn some or watch an ad or 4 😂 And WHY can't I upload anymore photos to my profile? I'm stuck at 99

I like the Guru Photography app, but its visibility algorithm is deeply flawed. Exposure is no longer driven by quality or competition, but by paid mechanics like keys and swaps, which are overpriced. By 2025, the platform has shifted from a photography competition into a monetised marketplace where attention is bought, not earned.
It's a good app, but... You get some coins when you start. You join some challenges and if you don't win your credit back, you need to buy more coins (in- game credits) just to join more challenges. I had an account on this app earlier, and back then you found earn money through watching a video... annoying, but the app was usable even if you didn't win every game... please add this feature
Voting has never been based on the relevance of the topic, it all depends on the boosts. So an eligible photo gets less vote just because the boost was not applied!
Full of extremely amateur and objectively bad photos. A blurry and low res phone photo of a cat on the kitchen floor can win against a beautiful and professional photo of a landscape, in a landscape challenge. You have to vote on many photos to fill a constantly depleting meter that determines if your own photos will be seen by other people to vote on, but 99% of the photos are terrible, so finding a few to vote on takes a long time, but ultimately it seems pointless.
This is a great platform but there is a big issue for the App, I've been used website always but when I download the app and wanted to join my account it was unavailable, because it just create another account for me and there was no option for logging in my account.
I feel most photos are just copied from Google photos instead of your own photos taken
