Would Rate 0 if I could, here's why. I used to work for grocery outlet till February and had to quit cuz I re aggravated a hernia that I thought was not going to happen again, then I had to try to become my own payee for ssdi and only has this bank at the time to do so or else I'd have to wait much longer, now it says on this app (which gave no warning about this btw) that I can't use the app or bank any longer just today which already has my direct deposit linked. Thanks for making me Homeless!

built for the owners, not the employees for sure, I timed the lunch break timer it was a minute fast. 1 minute may not sound like a lot but over a month that is 20 minutes of overtime that goes unlogged, pretty shady if you ask me.
I keep on getting back to the verifying page even though I took a picture of my passport and myself. I DID THIS FOR FIVE TIMES.

app has the worst customer support.
This app is absolutely garbage. You can't even get into it half the time without resorting to opening up the Google Play app and selecting the 'Open' button for the app in thr Google Play interface. Not only that, but for some reason, the app ALWAYS needs an update every 24 hours it seems like. It's an exaggeration but not by much of a stretch. It's frustrating and it needs to die or undergo manager changes. Period.
Only supports W-2 employees so contractors cannot use the app and have to use the website.
This is all about greed this app is terrible eats up Data and Battery Life.
Please allow login with Google on the mobile app. Wish there was a warning this wasn't supported when creating my account on desktop website. I would've just created an account with email instead. Now I'm locked out of using the app!
I hope to god the businesses that use this find something better for their employees to be able to take pay advances whenever they need them

The app takes forever to load & if you don't want to use biometrics it takes even longer. Plus they don't even have the option to get upcoming shift notifications/emails so you're forced to wait for the horrible app to load to even see your schedule
the app is trying too hard, but it promotes being able to take advances for the hours worked yet it doesn't explain how and there's no button I can find.

I do get my check 2 day early. But it let me get $200 on demand pay, but when I got paid they took the money I owed them and won't let me borrow again. There is no way to talk or contact customer service. It gives you an option to email, but it just takes you back to the contact us screen. So I got a $67 paycheck. So now it's impossible to pay bills and have gas to make it to work.
User Unfriendly, actually, User Hostile. No Tech Support, No Customer Service, No Live Operator. Gusto refers me back to my employer who refers me back to Gusto. They apparently are an Organized Criminal Enterprise operating out of a mail drop using AI inadequately programmed Robots named "Gus" in an attempt to deceive customers. No "Best Practices" of the call center or tech support industries are observed.
The fact the app that handles my paycheck is loaded with "offers" (ads) and is set to default to selling my personal information is frankly disgusting. The only saving grace is that they're honest about it and you can turn off the data selling.

you have the most unfriendly app I've ever used. Why are you only taking 3% FIT? what happened to my personal bank account info that I added twice and used once to transfer my pay? Why does the paycheck split page not allow me to change anything? Why cant I email you, when I try I get kicked out of that page? How about fixing my personal permissions so I can use the full app.
stupidest app to date. can't even update itself. haven't worked for a company since 2021, why is it the first company and only company that shows up. this app is a joke.
Everything about this app is garbage. Late deposits to bank. clocking in and out of work doesn't work consistently. Seeing bad reviews everywhere mainly for income tax forms for tax returns not being right.

I will add a positive review when some simple fixes are made. 1. Anything over 40 hrs is overtime. Not sure why 43.32 is straight pay... 2. When your "help" tab actually does something. it would be great if you fixed this!!
Absolutely terrible experience with Gusto. When I worked for a company that used them for payroll, our paychecks were late constantly-at least every other week. Management always blamed Gusto, and honestly, based on the pattern, it seemed believable. Any time there was even a minor holiday, you could pretty much guarantee your pay wouldn’t show up on time. Instead, it would get pushed back-sometimes all the way to the following week. That’s not norm

Over the last week, I have to constantly delete cookies or restart my phone to login through the app. A pop-up box appears at the top of the login page telling me "something went wrong please try again later" or login credentials are incorrect " Please fix.
horrible banking app barely works and customer support is useless they either have no idea what they are doing or will just straight up ignore you I've been waiting on a call back for 2 weeks and Everytime I call no one picks up "Edit": your guys help center on the app doesn't work either I sent you guys an SMS again no answer and your AI help canter that ✌️works better✌️didn't solve a single issue
App often does not clock employees out despite manually clocking out and logging off. Call in customer service is terrible with employees not following up and surveys of professional etiquette not followed up on. I would leave my job because they use this app, but that's not possible.
Hate the app. I cannot see a detailed breakdown of deductions (does not show any employer/employee payroll deductions).
Attempted to close my account (April 1, 2026): - In-app AI support: Unable to help - In-app service team: Redirected unable to help - Email support: No response - Phone support (3x): Redirected, promised it would get resolved - In-app closure option: apparently was removed years ago. Account balance: $0.56. Zero Outstanding obligations: NONE No legitimate reason given for non-closure. Customer service is non-functional. Do not bank with Gusto.
Im editing this review because after 3 years this company is so inept that they can't fix the problems they were having with the app 3 years ago, do not use this app if you have a choice. This message is for all administrators, DO NOT DO IT. These people will waste your time and not fix ANY issue you have with payroll. I'd give this negative 5 stars if it was possible
This is the WORST payroll app I've ever encountered. They offer on demand pay through Clair but do NOT use it. They will decide without warning that you can't advance and after hours of back and forth emails will not provide a reason. This company should NEVER have access to anyone's money!! Incredibly unprofessional. It would be 0 stars if I could.
If you'd rather beat your skull into a brick wall than have access to your money, then by all means, use Gusto. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get your money from the app to ANYWHERE ELSE! It wouldn't give me the option to add in my actual bank info, and HAD to get a gusto card. Which I never received. Then had to wait until payday & spent THREE HOURS trying to figure out how to hopscotch it from the account in Gusto to my actual bank account. Absolutely garbage. I would never use this for my own business.

It's like pulling teeth without novacaine to get customer service issues resolved. They still misprint my name despite being corrected a dozen times.
Does not support commuter benefits access or reimbursement upload.
Completely worthless when it comes to finding current benefit information, which is pretty important stuff.
it won't up load. it gets to 4% and then goes to 0.
gusto is not deducting insurance and to hard to follow. to many changes.
days worked and times worked each shift should be on here.
