Very disappointed with HelloTalk. My account was permanently disabled without a clear explanation or evidence. I always used the app for language learning, making friends, and respectful communication. Many users appreciated and respected me in the community. I sincerely believe there has been a misunderstanding or an unfair report. Before permanently banning an account, HelloTalk should carefully review all account activity and provide a clear reason for the decision.
It's useless for learning any language and its options are very confusing. And some random girl tried calling me many times even after I told her not to. And thus, I deleted the app. I think hellotalk needs to make the app all free so people can actually learn languages...
Need an update like photo verification there's a lot of fake profile and scammer

recent update of app interface is very bad and always when scrolling it's getting stuck, the bugs issue or some problem
This app is supposed to be for language learning, but many users are looking for relationships or sex chats instead. Racist behaviour is also common, and moderation does not seem effective. I would not recommend this app.

I just want to say it's not a communicating app anymore. I just wamt to talk to other country, but it keep asking me to buy vip, this app is money hunger and the translator isn't free anymore. Not recommended, tbh. Waste of time

I downloaded the app excited to meet people and practice language learning. it would not let me join chat rooms I imagine is some sort of anti-spam feature but I couldn't find anything online about when and how I would be able to use them. It constantly recommended women to chat with, is it trying to be a dating app? Really? Uninstalled, too bad it was a good idea.
Every little feature is locked behind a subscription or payment. It's a miracle that you're allowed to enter your password when signing in without having to pay for it.

Всё платное, везде подписка нужна. пользоваться приложением НЕВОЗМОЖНО. вы совсем ку-ку, откройте? раньше было такое хорошее приложение, приятно общаться было и делиться моментами, находить новых друзей... сейчас, ничего невозможно сделать, везде высовывается окно "подписка" ,"бабки" надо платить, надо денег... отлично убили приложение, молодцы! удалено!

i dont like this app to the point where im spending my own time to put a 1 star review the app is filled with ad and most of the features are locked behind a payment if you dont wanna pay since the subscription costs a lot then you can just watch a ad and get 1 feature one time pass the app in general sucks some features are just needed or should be free cooldown on changing your learning language for what? way too many distraction overall horrible app

They have shadowbanned my account for no reason, I stopped receiving messages and my friends and Language partner on the app cannot see my message. It's been 4 days since I raised the issue, they first asked for a video selfie to check if I was real , I complied and gave them the proof. Then they asked for my official document, I gave them my US DL, they said it wasn't acceptable as proof of nationality. I have given them then my passport. I'm still shadowbanned.I even bought 1 yr VIP. Pathetic!

Lots of people confusing it for a dating one, it's so annoying! C'mon, people, this isn't Tinder! People here came to exchange languages, not date you. If you develop relationship in the meantime - cool, but this is NOT the goal of this app. Also, a lot of ghosting from people. This is probably the worst experience on language apps, but out of 10 people I text, barely 1-2 reply. Probably because they are looking for a date :/ An app where you need to get VIP if you want the best experience.
we are going to bankrupt.. this app asks for so much money. If you don't upgrade or if you don't claim the VIP offers you don't have access to certain advanced features. this is so annoying
I can speak english and Malay fluently but I need to pay for VIP just to keep english as a teaching language which makes it more limited to who I can talk to. I can't add more than one learning language without having VIP as well.

I used hellotalk as far back as in 2015. just recently re-downloaded it, and it's sad to see how bad it has become. Back then, they had introduced phone calls, and pretty much everything was available for non-subscribtion members except for seeing profile pics (they said that what matters is the language exchange - not the person's appearance), and chosing language partner's gender. Now everything is locked and spammed with ads. Big disappointment & decrease in quality, dear hellotalk team.
