Was great but stopped finding car routes offline after map update ?
Thought this was a better alternative to Google maps, since they switched to a.i.+machine priority and my pedestrian route isn't there anymore.. But this app is just the same map as Google's regarding walking, only a little worse because new places in my city already are in Google maps but not in this app. Feeling disappointed in this app. Will keep looking for better alternatives to Google maps on android, until I get an iPhone with Apple maps.

I’ve been using it for offline maps for many years, and the navigation itself is good. However, the voice quality is terrible-it puts the driver in a bad mood, and I’ve stopped using it because of that. I understand it uses the system’s text-to-speech engine, but a more natural-sounding voice would be highly preferable.
UPDATE: they removed everything good that separated them from the rest. This app is garbage now if you're using the latest update. The navigation voice is incoherent. The field of view from the camera angles are terrible, and the UI is massive and gets in the way. I don't recommend this to anyone. Old review: Perfect. Way better than Google maps. - 2017
I tried this app on a route I know well, for fun. I could not make the left turn the app wanted me to make at rush hour, so I turned right, and the app refused to find a new route for me. It just kept trying to send me the other direction. I pulled up at my destination and it STILL refused to recalculate: it wanted me to drive back to my starting location and start over. I screen-recorded it because it was hilarious, but it was only funny because I knew there was an alternate route.
Terrible, sadly. I was looking for a Gmaps alternative and it looked promising, but even with location always on it still tells me location is required and cannot locate me, and thus cannot navigate.
Useless on Android Auto and directions incorrect. Searching for an address using this app and Android auto only shows the first matching word of the address. if the same street name exists in multiple towns then you're left guessing which to choose.
unfortunately this app has become terrible. I have downloaded maps to use offline. yet your area does not update if you are offline, so directions become useless.
compared to Tom Tom, Sygic and Waze this is rubbish. I uninstalled it after a week.
keeps app keeps popping up in my reviews to do? it's a nuisance.
garbage cant find business or addresses, i type in my employers name or address or my home address and it takes me to a random different business in a different state or fails to return anything at all, it is not possible to rout to my workplace or home. this is not useable at this time. i had installed this app because the new ai doing googles routing is very dumb, took me on a 40min detour for a 7min drive yesterday so obviously we need to replace google but this aint the solution.
roads not up to date it takes a turn on the map, when i did not turn
Showing a restaurant right in the middle of a roundabout and a supermarket next to it, near where I live. Both don't exist. No use at all.
points of interest very much at wrong locations. historic data 20 years out of date.
The street maps and location of shops etc are so very very wrong for areas in Eastern Pretoria so as to make the app quite untrustworthy in every other area.

Navigation, not search. If you already know the name and location of the place you intend to go, this app will help you with navigation. if you are looking for places in your town that fall into a category, this app is not for you. If you're looking for shops that sell model trains near Seattle Washington it will bring up places in Charleston South Carolina. So as long as you know before you go, this app will help you get there. But you're looking for places to go this app will not help you.
Useless app for biking / walking in the Netherlands. It routes you over roads that are only available to cars.
it doesn't show the bus stops names in the map while travelling. you are already at the bus stop and it wants you to walk a long distance bus stops away. finding settings the first time is not easy, you have to scroll up. I can't find many important places that are on Maps, even public administration sites.
I really wanted to like this app but the constant beeps and tones are beyond annoying. Couldn't find a way to shut them off. Going back to Tom Tom.
app operates well with good west europe coverage but map upgraden is systematically broken. it downloads new maps, reached 100% downloaded and then fails to complete. tried remo ving the app completely and re-installing. same again when next map upgrade was offered.
It is the year of our Lord 2026 and this app on Android auto still has a top down view and Does Not Orient the Map based on direction of travel when not using an active destination. This used to be The Maps app to go to. Now it's just disappointing. DEV Team what are you doing ?
Map updates are pathetic. A major junction nearby was rebuilt 3 years ago but HERE still showed old layout. Last year I used their online tool, precisely placing the new ramps even according to their own satellite imagery and they reverted it back! Many of my other suggested fixes encountered a similar fate.
the app isn't user friendly to find the offline section. I tried doing offline transit for British Columbia for Vancouver and it refused to work. even after I downloaded the offline maps.
A huge flaw. The android auto compatible app is not optimised for wide-screen car displays. At best i have maybe 200m of road ahead. Meaning coming up to a motorway junction, the map doesn't show the turn until you are seconds from it. Meaning it's almost useless. If you zoom out, it auto zooms back in again. I will change my rating to a higher score if you have the map tilt slightly (like every other competitor) or allow the user to keep their level of zoom.
I dont know why, but this app has the LOWEST FPS out of any Android navigation app on my phone [Samsung A56 5G]. when I'm scrolling and zooming around the map in top down 2D view, it's fine, but as soon as it switches to nav mode in 3D, the framerate drops to ~20 fps. no other nav app has 3D view this choppy. and yes, I have even disabled 3D buildings, terrain, and landmark features. Too bad, I want to like it, but the graphics performance is dog awful.
This app used to be great. I've been using it and it's predecessors since 2010 or maybe even further back. I'm sorry to say that I now can't recommend it as the estimated time of arrival is hopelessly inaccurate. I often find that it predicts a 40 minute journey which ends up being 1 hour or longer in traffic. It seems as if the app does not learn that there will always be rush hour traffic in Dublin city centre every evening and it is then surprised when traffic volumes swell.
