Absolutely terrible equipment. Constantly losing connectivity, occasionally turning on and staying on. Frequently having to turn the heating on manually at the boiler. Had to reset frequently and then it worked perfectly for a while. Was told that I had poor WiFi connectivity. Odd because everything else in my house at similar distance from the router works perfectly. Ripped it out and replaced with a Wiser Home system snd hey presto, everything works perfectly. Steer clear is my advice.

Surely this can be cured after all this time.

good... when it works massive pain, now app wont talk to thermosat / boiler, been trying an hour with resets, reconnections this isnt good enough

This app is appalling works intermittently which is most of the time tells me it's off line even when I'm standing next to the hub and router it's a waste of space.seriously considering Google nest avoid this app.

The previous version let me pause the app then unpause it - then it worked, not any more. it works fine on my tablet so the phone version is absolutely useless.
Eileen Davies back again my hive is the same as the complaint below it's going on and off , message says offline ! or user name not recognised ll the agents say is turn off hub also when they send a verification code I don't receive it do I need a new hive

one of the worst apps since they started advertising their paid version. I'm trying to do a simple task which is to change the WiFi and theres no options or buttons to change the wifi. Tried calling Hive directly, automated service just hangs up on you. and there's no section for technical support. fix these things!! greed can wait
just a way to milk money out of giving me access to my own data.

Edit 1/12/2025, I am managing by either deleting and downloading the app again or deleting cashe virtually everyday! it used to work fine until recently so what cockup has been introduced in the last software update? Edit 30/3/2026 For the past few days whatever Hive did, app is managing to display home page without the problems encountered before.3/4/2026 New software appears to have fixed the problem. pity it took hive so long. stopped working altogether. useless 29/4/2026
You previously removed the ability to check how long a heating period took. No warning, no notice. Your app is full of bloated, unsightly Hive Plus ads. You silently moved the weekly and yearly insights behind a subscription pay wall. Meanwhile zero updates have went into the hardware to fix it's inherent instability. Disgusting predatory practices. I'm actively looking for a replacement solution and the Hive setup I BOUGHT will be swiftly going in the bin.
Used to be great but ever since the update in March this App doesn't work, telling me it is offline when everything is connected and working fine, spent hours with your technical support setting and resetting, seems to be a general issue and support is aware of it, just waiting to see when the fix will come back, so disappointed.
scheduling not working in latest version, at all
Lights randomly disconnect, the heating hasn't been connected for 6 months, support is abysmal, and now the app will not open beyond a plain white screen. As the first troubleshooting step is always "open the app" the thing I'm most angry about is that I can't give zero stars. Anyone thinking of getting Hive please, please don't, get an alternative like Nest instead.

This app is getting worse with every single release. The overall product offering is also declining. If you are considering purchasing into the platform....dont Update: I see the devs reply. It appears the issue is captured in known issues. No timeframe given for a fix - this known issue has been in the known issues list for a long time now so I hold no hope for a fix...
I am having problems getting in to the Hive App on my phone. Every time I enter my email and password it comes up saying error message. try again. Been trying this for several days. I have also unstalled and installed the App and is still the same. Please help.
Ever since the latest update the app crashes whilst I'm trying to log in. Utterly frustrating, was working fine for me prior to the update.
SMS Verify seems to crash the app preventing login
The adding family links don't work, they open the app then it tells you that you can't connect. Had to paste the invite url in an incognito browser, because the app is glitchy garbage :(

Trying to charge a subscription for viewing previous days temperatures. Pure greed from developers.
button OFF doesn’t work, if I simply want to turn off a scheduled time and press the time it won't do anything at all (apart from givng me the option to chose a different time), I am forced to delete the time and create a new from scratch. please fix this, on-off should ne 1 click only
When I first installed Hive a few months ago, the app worked great. Now, for the last 2-3 weeks, the app regularly disconnects from the hub. I have to close my apps and clear junk files, and sometimes turn wiFi on and off on my phone before it works again. Pretty rubbish. This is clearly an issue with Hive, as so many people are having the same issue.
my app lets me log in but when I get a text message with a verification code it closes and then I have to start again in an endless cycle this has been tried over 20 times and still having the above issue my partners iPhone does not have this problem but my Motorola RAZR 50 does

Requires immediate attention. Keeps disconnecting. Don't they test these things before releasing them? Please look at the reviews.
System refuses to stay in schedule mode. Every time I look it's switched back to manual and set high so I am heating an empty house every day.
APP KEEPS CRASHING CANT EVEN LOG IN MOTOROLA RAZER 60 ULTRA
Since the last update the App does not refresh when the screen is reopened. Each time I have to now close the App and then reopen to get the current data. This is also happening on a second mobile I use which is a different make and model.
Since the last update the app now takes an absolute age to load (please wait while we load your home...) and sometimes I get stuck with an empty white screen. It never used to do this. Also, when it does work, the new UI is very poor compared to the older version.
This used to be a great app and service, very reliable. But since the app refresh it's become very unreliable, and looking around online this seems to be the case for a lot of people. When opening the app there is now a white screen saying it's loading home which can take a few seconds, and when you try to interact with the app sometimes buttons don't respond and you have to close it and reopen it for them to come back to life.

2026- Holiday mode has now failed to end twice. Abysmal. - Basic control of CH and hot water ok. Schedules flexible. No ability to override hot water to off (basic programmer stuff). Holiday mode still buggy. Editing it doesn't upstate. Temp. graph a bad, barely readable joke. Only daily graph. After that you need to pay to access your own data. Seemingly incompetent team and no testing.
Really good when it works. But far to hit and miss and not at all reliable. So frustrating when you change the temperature on the app while you're out just to get home then find that the app didn't really change the temperature after all.
This app used to work great and then just became rubbish. It constantly says it wont connect, for a while I couldn't control with my phone and today I changed the thermostat batteries and now nothing is connecting and I can't put my heating on! I live in a new build and have recently installed super fast fibre broadband so shouldn't have connection issues. Wish I hadn't bothered getting a hive
Latest update nothing but glitches. Boosting a zone sometimes sticks "constant on". Boosting a zone may boost a separate zone ie Upstairs heating boosts after selecting downstairs in app. Needs sorting asap
doesn't work... always says it's offline, can't connect remotely. never had problems with the old nest, read user workarounds of how to reboot the thing but can't be bothered, tbh, life is too short
