Used to Be Great. Played this when it first came out and the story, characters and quality were amazing. 5/5 back then. but now? over reliance on AI has made a lot of cinematic quality absolutely drop. mouths not even closely matching the character talking. The really good voice actors that were there at the start are now all gone or replaced, causing just awkward cinematics. story drops off in quality after Penacony saga.

I've played the game since released and honestly I'm no longer enjoy the game like I used one year ago. As a husbando enjoyer I can't help but notice just how different the treatment between male and female characters, like, male being easily replaceable unit and powercreeped by the girls. HSR is a good game, really, but if you're a husbando enjoyer like me, better think twice than swallow bitter pills.

I’ve been playing Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin, and Zenless, and I’ve consistently kept Monthly Pass active in all three games because I truly respect Hoyo's “Otaku Save the World” spirit (Anime style in game). I also do occasional top-ups whenever I can. That’s why the recent region restriction situation feels genuinely discouraging to me. Honestly, this situation is starting to make me think about becoming fully F2P instead.
HSR is a gacha game with some great highs and lows. What works well: The story is really good most of the time, but expect each new world to have a slow start. What doesn't work well: Events are becoming smaller and more sparse, power creep and 5 star characters are being churned out faster, and the Fate Collab was...overhyped to be honest. Stick to the story and stick to being free to play until things pick up in events again.
