When it works it works... It doesn't work enough. I said if it gave me an error one more time I'm uninstalling and just using the website.... Uninstalled.

Despite geolocation being enabled / allowed on the app, it refuses to let me choose a cinema. It won't even let me find one using my postcode! What's the point of an app to check session times if I can even choose a cinema?!?!?!?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 and this app reaches the base of my screen where my return and home buttons are, and I'm unable to proceed with certain options in the app (ie purchasing tickets) due to the buttons conflicting. Never had this problem with any other app.
Navigation buttons interfere, with the app buttons, Samsung s25 ultra. Had to turn my phone to swipe gestures, even then it was a problem. Scrolled through the other reviews and this glitch has been happening for quite some time. Poor effort on Hoyts behalf.

can't buy tickets on your website (error on total vs charge mismatch) can't but tickets on your app. error try again later.
who decided to put the menu options on-top of the Samsung screen options. trying to navigate this app just closes it because the designer must be an apple fan.
they charge a booking fee for booking online? I'm doing you a favour and you charge for it? corporate greed at its finest. app also has several usability issues. like putting buttons under android menu buttons so you can't hit one without the other
It is difficult to book because the proceed button is under the back button on Samsung
HOYTS app on Android has its interface elements overlapping with the system's back button, when using gesture navigation making it very difficult to buy tickets
Terrible app layout for Samsung android users. The tools at the bottom with movies, home, account don't work. When I finally figured out how to get around it and buy a ticket I had to click proceed a number of times which incidentally happens to be right under the back button for Samsung. So everytime I clicked proceed it would go back a screen. I tried holding the proceed button down, tried at many different angles. It took forever just to buy a ticket. Pathetic user acceptance testing done.

Another disasterous app redesign that appears to have been made without UX testing. Unusable on Android as key buttons sit under phone menu items meaning users can't access them. Log in screen gets covered by keyboard so can't see what you are entering. Cinema selector requires location access, forcing users to give access or unable to pick a cinema. Please consult users before releasing such bad "updates".
New App is really bad and is not friendly with Samsung phone users at all. The bottom function is unable to use at all. Every time I choose the bottom function then the app will be closed itself. This is a design bug and needs to be removed soon.

latest update fails - the app now places menu items on Samsung's navigation bar - so it is next to impossible to use those menu items unless you turn off the navigation bar (which i am not going to do)
Very bad design for android. The navigation buttons at the very bottom on the screen are underneath the android navigation buttons, so always hitting "back" instead of whatever the action is. Devs obviously don't actually test this on a real device.
Completely unusable! It took 10 minutes to login! Enter email, wait 5 minutes for app to load and send verification code, enter verification code, wait 5 minutes for it to FINALLY login. Then when you finally get into the app you're unable to add a cinema and view sessions because the location services is broken 🙄
App doesn't work, you cannot sign in to your account rendering the app almost entirely useless.
What happen? My account is not recognised. Tried to purchase as a guest but it doesn't work as well. it just kept on loading. It was easy using the app and browser before but now nothing seems to work. Please fix. note: the browser one doesn't work as well.
Upgraded membership, still can't purchase tickets, app is broken and buggy.
Cant renew membership. My Profile does not have this option available. AI says to do this in My Dashboard but My Dashboard is not in this app. Totally useless.
Bad and a wasted effort- the App logs me out after a set time. Then asks for an e-mailed code to log back in... Which takes nearly 5 mins. Reaper to just use the web interface. Frustrating enough that i won't use it. Uninstalling.
This used to be a useful movie info app, but now it's just for your rewards program?? Screw you, Hoyts

Unfortunately you can only sign in with your email (not your mobile or rewards card number). I don't know what email I used to sign up (tried them all) and can't get in. I get notifications to my mobile number when I used my card. So the app is useless!
You are now forced to sign up to check which movies are available to watch.
Bought the VIP upgrade throught the app. Then tried to buy tickets through the app. But the app won't let you. Had to open Hoyts through my Web browser and buy the tickets through there.

Terrible. Why force potential customers to log in to even see session times. Who'd approve that for a cinema chain where you want more customers? Event app is much better. As we say in Hong Kong, "the chicken doesn't fly, let it walk".
I've used Hoyts app for years and it was great! But the latest update is a nightmare. I was unable to login for weeks because the code never arrived to my email. Now I want to check the movies and it says location is disabled so no cinemas are shown. Location is activated and permission given to the app to use it. Still it doesn't work. Even without location, there should be the option to select multiple cinemas as before. The app is unusable.
Horrible Everything new about the app makes it harder to use. Not to mention sometimes it doesn't even show all the movies playing if it's late at night.
Was good app but now you have to open an account to view movie sessions. I'm not a fan of giving my details to just view what's on so uninstalling it now. It's a shame because it was a good app before.
It's a membership only app now, so you can't use it to buy tickets anymore without signing up for membership. Very annoying, will have to uninstall it now.
Can't log in, keeps telling me it's sent me a code to my email address. Email never comes. It would be nice if I could just use it to see what is showing at my cinema of choice, but it won't let me skip the login BS to simply look. I've uninstalled it.
Latest update now requires an account. Completely useless. Uninstalling. Very bad to navigate. Shows incorrect details for movies selected (eg 3D when not) and does not accept credit card details correctly (eg only accepts 2 digits for expiry date etc). Don't waste your time. Uninstalling.
Not working.. always book ticket, take money but not issuing tickets. Then have you call and sort out the issue. Happened 2-3 times.
