Convoluted, opposite of simple. It's painful to use. Impossible to enjoy. You can't even shuffle your playlist because they put no thought into catering to classical listeners. It is so badly designed it doesn't keep whole pieces together. It just shuffles the tracks like any regular steaming app. Not at all designed for classical music.
The Mac OSX app is ok and has the advantage that you can actually find music. however, the android app is buggy and borderline unusable (e.g. insisting on playing previously played pieces even if a new one has been selected). the reply below is just as useless as this is just not the problem

just plays the same stuff over and over again hard to build a playlist hard to use just too hard... it's also hard to find the music I want to play I'm looking for classical music over the last thousand years and to get that into a playlist but it's impossible to do that. it's really hard to find compositions as well. and customer service is terrible
not happy with it
The service is a great idea; however, the app significantly detracts from the overall experience. It offers the option to download songs, yet offline playback is unreliable. I question the investment in developers; are they valued, or are they simply seen as expendable in the pursuit of profit maximization? As a digital-first service, I hope you address this and numerous other issues promptly. Otherwise, I will be forced to cancel my long-standing subscription.
0 if I could. I got the app to listen to classical Easter Music, but everything is behind a paywall. App description doesn't even mention this.
Why do I need to create an account before using app or knowing what
Does not start, after attempt to log in via Google account it's just a black screen. I cleaned the cache and data, restarted the app and it's the same again.
broken app , audio stops often , app freezes , go to quboz instead better audio quality for a few dollars more a month
Die erste App, die es geschafft hat, mein Smartphone (Android 11) zum Abstürzen zu bringen! Software offensichlich sehr schlecht geschrieben: 1. trotz perfekter Verbindung unfassbar langsam (bis über 1 Minute Reaktionszeit auf Antippen), 2. extremer Batterieverbrauch (Smartphone wird sehr warm), 3. bremst alle anderen Apps massiv aus, 4 .Abspielen bricht häufig grundlos ab. Sehr schade, da ich Klassikliebhaber bin. Werde wohl doch einen anderen Streamingdienst abonnieren müssen :-(
Cannot unsubscribe after free trial
Please add Android Auto support. Also make something akin to SpotifyConnect or TidalConnect available so I can stream to my raspberry/DAC hifi system with control from my phone.
I've been a subscriber for years. Recently, the app just takes forever to load things, and also crashes or refuses to play downloaded tracks when offline. (Part of the reason I found it was attractive was I could listen to a great classical Catalog while flying, as I am a musician). End of my tether and Idagio support doesn't answer emails so not sure where to go from here. I'd love to continue as the selection is great, but not being able to access it makes it kind of useless. Maybe will move.
I suddenly lost my ability to log into my account (not the first time). I had, again, difficulties in logging in with the new password sent to me, so tried contacting "contact@idagio". No response at all after over a week and several follow-ups. So I'm paying for a service I can't use and there is no phone contact availability. Unimpressive.

The search function (for composer's works) is not very precise. Like if I specifically seached Op 3 of a composer, yet I found matches for op 5 6 or some others that had no 3 in it. Or even if its a word I get all sort of unrelated piece that do not have the keyword I entered. Please fix it. is very frustrating for learning a new piece and having a hard time hunting it down here because how irrelevant the search results returned.

very poor support for casting and streaming to other devices. metadata filtering and search is confusing and unreliable.
its a decent app. I would like to have more time listening to the music rather than taking time to restart the music (incredible how many pauses you may have with that app!) or waiting on the server to respond to my requests
New bug: playback pauses for no reason, even though background usage is enabled. Other music apps don't have same issue. Also, autoplay is terrible always playing the same stuff.
The collection is decent, but the app needs some serious work. It pauses at random times (no, it's not about my connection quality; everything else works fine) and the settings are very limited and hidden inside the "Collection" section. The listening experience is thus suboptimal.
So frustrating... I really value the content but this is the slowest app around. It also decides I'm not a subscriber if my internet connection drops out for a second, and won't reconnect without a restart. Albums that have been downloaded seem to disappear or don't appear in the downloads search. Content great... user experience poor.
There is no account section to make profile changes or check what plan you could choose. Also same rate as Spotify for the same 320 Kbps MP3 quality but with MUCH LESSER collection of (western classical) albums; FLAC is at an even higher monthly fee (both free just for 1st 14 days / 2 weeks). Hopefully, they would expand their repertoire further to include more Naxos, Brilliant Classics, CPO, DG and Decca albums.
Music quality: great. App: buggy, laggy, heavy on phone resources.
The idagio app stops working after an hour to two days. I Un-installed and reinstalled many times, cleared cache many times. Continues to have issues. I have had Amazon Music and Spotify for many years. They never have problems. I can listen in the browser, just not the app on my Samsung phone and Samsung Tablet. The service itself I love. The app just doesn't function well.
Unusable for free users.
I want to love this app and on some level I do. Having a library with a concept of a "work" separate from its performance is crucial for classical music and Idagio handles this splendidly. But playback has endless problems. Steaming will randomly stop, often between tracks. Sometimes tracks don't start at all even when my Internet is strong. Sonos is extremely broken. Doesn't play nice with other audio apps. Hard to recommend
Die Android-App ist voller bugs. Edit: 4 Jahre später und die Android App ist leider immer noch sehr träge und hat viele bugs. Ich werde das Abo deshalb wieder kündigen.
Starts as a good free app. If you want to enjoy, need to pay. I am facing after a couple of hours playtime incredible buffering issues. Music randomly stops when screen is off and the amount of "ads" increase to the point that I rather I deleted the app
I'm sad to review the app with two stars even if I deeply love the service. The app is not usable, slow and nerve wracking. It's more shameful since on iOS works perfectly fine
was seriously considering shelling out for a premium subscription, but the app is so slow, that it doesn't seem a worthwhile purchase.
