how can a notes app have become so greedy? I've used this app for 10+ years, since I was a teen. Up until a few months ago I was glad to have all my brain vomits in one place. Now it has huge ads and an AI function crammed in, which makes me stop considering the premium version (which was btw grossly overpriced to begin with). An incredible indictment to the fall of service in the contemporary age of the internet. This is atrocious. *oh and export to readable crashes the app, you are criminals!
Edit: I am SO very disappointed. I loved this app for its basic simplicity. Now it has huge video ads that occasionally play a random sound. My keyboard keeps disappearing, & I often have to exit & reopen the app to get it back, which doesn't always work. My cursor jumps around, & the app often freezes. I'm sorry I have to find a new notes app. 08/21/23 This is surely my most-used app, & one of the first that I download on any new phone. It's simple & uncluttered. I can't recommend it enough!
congratulations, you broke the GD app. Now I have to transfer about a hundred notes to another app or lose all my content. if you change to bold, or italics, etc, you can't change it back. and it tries to have a mind of its own now and does random sht when you're typing.

I have lost a lot of info this way. But due to the ads, I will be looking for a new notepad app, after many years using this one. This cannot be an algorithm thing because I don't get those types of ads anywhere else.

AI deleted all of my notes on May 28th 2026, because I would not upgrade to a premium account!!! Then uploaded notes that were from 2014-2018 basically worthless, nothing current ... I have tried to reach out to support multiple times, with no response!!! Since 2014, I have been very happy with this app !! That is until May28 2026... To purposefully, intentionally delete a person's notes or hold a person's notes hostage unless you pay for a premium package is very disheartening ‼️
This app has used 400 MB of mobile data this past month. I am assuming that this is due to the ads. There is no reason for a notepad app to be doing this.
all the ads make it completely unusable.
its flooded with ads, lags and freezes nonstop, and has so many issues its just completely useless now. i just need a new app that actually functions and isnt just spam.

great cant sync notes lost my seed phrase dont use this app been 3 months failed synce online says same amount and synce failed i know my seed is in there but it only finds all notes from 22 23 nothing from 25 26 seems to fail and nothing from this year and last year only dont save anything of vaule never know when sync a just stop working ive been using this since 2013 and never let me down till now

Notes double and delete themselves. My notes suddenly had doubled the selves. I had two of everything which I didn't need. I would delete one and kept one. Then suddenly the one I kept had no notes on it despite the title still being there. I uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing changed except all the notes were still empty and back to being double.. YEARS of notes, gone. In my anxiety, I deleted the wrong app and lost my quick sticky notes as well..
This was a great app for many years, which like many has gone downhill at a very fast rate. Your attempt to harvest my data with new advertisers is creepy. You let me choose my level of advertisers but then it won't save or accept my no trackers policy. Your new nonsense refuses to let me into the app and into my own bloody notes without saying yes to hundreds of spammers. Stop pretending your giving me a choice with advertisers when in actually you're cornering your users into accepting bs.
there are now ads with sound that interrupts my peace. and before someone gets the bright idea to chime in that "we need to be able to support the app financially" the ads before were fine! they existed, they didn't interrupt my music or tv streaming experience, and I didn't mind them because they didn't LITERALLY WAKE OTHER PEOPLE UP. I shouldn't have to wear headphones in case my NOTES APP switches to ads with obnoxiously loud sound to financially support adding ai none of us wanted!
Giant freaking ad takes up half the screen.
with recent update, app started saving webpages as shortcuts, not the links. so can't edit the website link now. YouTube ads contain a lot of garbage data with the website links, can't edit it now. can't change the settings. I'm deleting the app. earlier it was 5 stars.
Disturbing with Premium option and News feeds.

Made the mistake of updating the app, UI is so much more bloated, useless AI features forced onto you, giant banner ads (why would I need a curated "For You Feed" in a notes app?) Uninstalling.
Ruined by putting things behind a paywall. This used to be a simple note taking app with small ads because people need to make something, I get it. Now there's large ads and a"carousel" that takes up half the screen that I cannot remove or resize without paid version. I am uninstalling and looking else where for something simple for taking notes.
This used to be a fantastic app, and I would happily pay for it if it were a reasonably priced one-time purchase. However, the introduction of ads have absolutely ruined the user experience.
This app is great for having loads and loads of ads. especially the ads that will interrupt music or audio books you are enjoying while using the app. Great for making lists that you can check off things. if you open or close it a few times it will hit you up to join the ad free subscription service. anyone else missing the days when removing ads wasn't a subscription service but a flat one time fee
