Very poorly developed application that does not work as it should. Unfortunately, it fails to properly detect and position sensitive information, which can leave the BSN or photo visible. There should be a tool that automatically detects all sensitive data or at least allows users to position the photo more accurately.
My visa process has ground to a halt as the app won´t even take a picture of my ID. Have tried different lighting and holding it as steady as a rock. All I get is ´reading document´. Rubbish. Is there another app I can use that meets government requirements? Very surprised to have a Dutch stipulated app that just does not work.
Keeps showing reading document and doesn't go any further. It shouldn't be that hard.
for God sake, utterly terrible photo taking. Did you do reliability test dear developers? can you even do UX thing?

It was good when you could tell it when the document is in view and readable. Now it's "reading document", but it never takes the picture or takes a blurry image of the front of my ID and says that it's the back of it. If you're going to claim it can detect documents... make sure it actually does... or simply allow us to take the photo, as we definitely know more than whatever code you're running on this. Tried both on Android and iPhone, such a disappointment.

NUTTELOOS! Geen enkele instantie accepteert bewerkte foto's van ID documenten. USELESS! Organisations do NOT accept edited ID documents.
ik gebruik de kopie id app al lang. echter, met de meest recente update weigert de scanner een foto te maken van mijn idbewijs, hij blijft hangen in de "reading document" modus ondanks het voldoen aan werken bij voldoende licht en tegen een donkere achtergrond. Daarmee is de app letterlijk disfunctioneel en daarmee waardeloos geworden. nul sterren.
In het verleden kon je de app prima voor buitenlandse, of in elk geval EU, paspoorten gebruiken. Nu is het ineens 'niet meer mogelijk de functionaliteit aan te bieden'. Ik snap dat het ondoenlijk om *inlezen* aan te bieden voor alle paspoorten, maar die leuke doorstreep- en watermerkfuncties kunnen natuurlijk prima. Dit is pure discriminatie!
It doesn't take a photo of any foreign passports. It's ridiculous. 1,5 million foreigners live in the Netherlands.
Useless trash, doesn't work with EU documents or non standard ones. How difficult it is?
2024: It doesn't work, why it's so complicated to make such simple program to do simple things? I just scan the document with camera and it's doesn't capture anything even on black background. 2025: Can you fix this problems finally why it doesn't scan EMEA ID cards similar to Dutch one from other countries beside Netherlands? I can't provide anything when someone ask me about KopieID.
1. If you go out of the app and you are in the process of copying your document it will not save the picture you took. 2. It does not allow you to upload a picture. This already was enough for me not to continue.
onbegrijpelijk wat de app doet.
I have tried for hours to scan my Indian passport and kentekenbewijs front/back. it doesn't succeed in capturing the photo, it always just states reading. I had heard good reviews about this app but it doesn't work for me. I'm with the latest android version 16 with Google phone. At least having a feature to manually capture photos would solve the problem

Werkt niet zonder lockscreen dus heb ik er niks aan.
Ze hebben een geweldige app kapot gemaakt. 😭 Dit was ooit een geweldige app waarmee je een foto kon maken en de delen die je geblokkeerd wilde hebben kon blokkeren. Nu werkt het alleen voor bepaalde documenten en maakt het geen foto tenzij alles perfect is uitgelijnd en dan probeert het automatisch dingen te blokkeren en faalt. De overheid dwingt ons om onze gevoelige gegevens op te slaan met apps uit de VS als we onze gevoelige gegevens willen beschermen.
it's not possible to cross manual away information on the ID app itself makes the pictures what's way out of line... why are slides to cross away information? if the app makes bad pictures of the ID. a manual shutter button will help.
doesn't work
Spent almost an hour trying to get it to take my passport. I had great lighting with a dark background. It couldn't possibly be any clearer, but just kept scanning and telling me to make sure it's got a dark background and fingers are out of sight. I tried different lighting and angles but nothing worked. I give up.

Maakt de cijferreeks onderaan mijn nieuwe rijbewijs niet volledig onleesbaar, waardoor het rijbewijs nummer gemakkelijk ontcijferd kan worden. [Edit 2025] Jammer dat bijna een jaar na bovenstaande review het probleem in plaats van opgelost, alleen nog maar erger geworden is. Nu is bijna de gehele onderste helft van de cijfers leesbaar, waardoor deze gemakkelijk te raden zijn. Ik had verwacht de overheid er toch alles aan zou doen om de privacy te beschermen.

utterly useless, it DOES NOT work. it won't scan my passport or ID whatsoever. I don't know if that's because they're not Dutch but they're both issued by an EU member country. I'll have to send them the old insecure way...

Dat dit niet ingebouwd is in een app die volledig afhankelijk is van de camera, is echt een bizarre ontwerpkeuze.

cross-out tools don't work properly
Super handy app & a nice idea. Sadly it does not work for another European standard format passport. My friend scanned a Dutch passport easily, but I spent the last 45min trying to get it to capture mine. Well, time for old school editing for mine.
Dit was een uitstekende App, die ik kon gebruiken, voor zowel mijn Nederlandse als mijn buitenlandse papieren. Nu werkt het alleen nog maar voor Nederlandse documenten? Er wonen ca 1 miljoen Nederlanders buiten Nederland, en denk aan alle grenswerkers in de gebieden die overlappen met België en Duitsland. Het zou fijn zijn als de App zowel de handmatige, als de automatische optie zou bieden.

Nice app for copying the front of the id-card. However it is not possible to remove both copies of the Burger Service Number on the back, only the BSN at the top right is removed, not the BSN at the bottom that is reproduced with the card number.
Balkjes worden op de verkeerde plekken neergezet. Ook onmogelijk om een goede foto te maken omdat de app zelf de foto al maakt voordat het document goed gepositioneerd is.

Verzoek om app aan te passen. 1. Afgedekte gegevens waren niet voldoende afgedekt. Zorg dat afdekking past. 2. Het was niet mogelijk om individuele afdekkingen te schuiven. Het was allemaal of niet. Zorg dat je een individuele afdekking kunt schuiven.
