I'd leave negative stars if I could, I'll listen every problem. 1. I was practically yelling into the microphone the correct pronouncing and it was like 'YOU GOT NOTHING RIGHT, KEEP TRYING'. 2. Duolingo is better, sure it has it's cons, but nothing is flawless. meanwhile this could be way better, sure it has unlimited learning with a subscription (maybe), but I could learn Korean better from duolingo than I could learn Japanese from this. Last but not least, 3. I CAN'T GET KANJI CHARACTERS!!!!!
Do not buy this app. Customer service is lousy. After trying the app for a few days, I decided I would stick with Duo. A year passed & I was charged the auto renew fee - $99. I saw the charge, canceled the service, & sought a refund. Customer service (emails only) & several exchanges continues to refuse to refund the charge, after only one day into the new year & no notification that the subscription was about to renew. Any other company would have gladly refunded the charge immediately.

No free trial, misleading ads. Total lack of professionalism. I deeply regret paying for a year. Avoid!
I paid right away for a subscription and the app keeps crashing. I keep uninstalling reinstalling clearing my cache. I paid for a year's subscription because it really sounds like a great app. So far it's been useless.

Please don't get tired into this, there are better ways to learn. Additionally, if you sign up and forget they will charge you a year later with no option for a refund. This is a money grab, not a product to help you.

the worst con that does not do any of the things it's says it does, paid €60. stopped using after about 10 mins before I realised it was just old videos that are not interactive, most of the options I clicked did not even work and locked the screen, a waste of time and money, demanded a refund after 10 minutes, was told it was not available despite having paid for a year in advance, I'm annoyed with myself for falling for a scam.

Then after 7 days they charge you for a product you didn't use Now that I'm stuck with the app. After trying it for the first time it's largely AI generated and not as effective as other language apps.
Voice recognition poor! Started Korean and after saying hello all fine. Then spend 20 mins trying to say "Pah", easy yeah, but the AI doesn't recognise it. Useless app I fell for the hype!
if I could give this app a zero I would, it's a weird app and it's very AI focused and I didn't like that. my free trial ended and they didn't notify me that the trial was ending soon, then I was charged $200 for the year. it and never used it again, and they refused to give me a refund.
SAVE YOUR MONEY!! It's not worth the $69 to begin with and then they continue to charge you $99 months after you've deleted the app. I asked kindly for a refund because I was given no heads up about this subscription charge, and they refused 🙃

Waste of time and money! And when you first sign up, you get pulled into paying for extras that aren't included in the so called "Premium" version! and you can't get your money back for the extras if you change your mind!

They hide the cancel subscription button. Cancelled mine and still taking money from me four months later. Do not trust them.
I tried the trial, and found quickly that it wasn't going to work for me so I canceled. it just tried to charge me for a year subscription which I never signed up for. I've checked my Google Play store and my regular Google account for any subscription that I wasn't aware of, and there's nothing there.
too basic really and they sell you the premium and then come out to sell you another premium which it was what you thought you bought from the beginning. just like another duolingo.
Do not buy Jumpspeak!!! I purchased a lifetime subscription to Jumpspeak via Google Wallet. It was sold to me as one payment for the entire lifetime subscription. Now Google is billing me once a year!!! Jumpspeak says they can't do anything, and they blame Google. Google says that my lifetime membership is an annual membership. It is not. I warn everybody DO NOT PURCHASE JUMPSPEAK OR Google for that matter.
I requested to cancel my subscription back in January and they told me it was cancelled but they had actually kept the subscription going without my knowledge and I was charged £45 this month. Requested a refund via Paypal and given the evidence they refunded me because I had requested to cancel. If I'm charged again in July I will be pursuing further action against your company and have retained all communications as evidence.
I signed up for a "free" trial in January. Jumpspeak immediately charged my credit card. Less than 2 weeks later I asked for a refund. I have not received a refund and Jumpspeak refuses to even acknowledge my refund requests. After reviewing several apps I bought Babbel, which I am happy with.

Just signed up and now realise that 'Premium' costs extra, so my account is limited in the AI usage. I am not impressed with this deception and cheap trickery. Cancellation coming immediately.
terrible audio quality
I've been trying this for a few months now, but overall I'm more disappointed every day. Not only are the answers for some question/answer combinations plain wrong, it also confuses words with a similar spelling but a different meaning. Typical AI... It also doesn't understand that the order of words sometimes changes from English into another language, so it's trying to push the English word order in a sentence where the word order in Spanish is different. And you can't even get a refund.

Speech recognition is worse than duolingo. If I'm pronouncing words correctly, according to Google translate, what the hell is wrong with jumpspeak?? Have I wasted my money!?

Shady Billing! Be warned. I got charged $179 for an AI tool that frankly I don't remember asking for. Regardless of that fact, The app sent me a pish notification "reminding me" that my trial for this AI tool had just expired. I found how to cancel this in my account and emailed within minutes of this notification to ask that the charge be removed and they refused. Play Store and online reviews have similar stories. Stay Away or really really read what you're getting into.

for me, duolingo has been loads better. learning Mandarin
Within minutes of using the app it was malfunctioning and providing inaccurate information. What was being said did not match what was on the screen. And even basic vocabulary was incorrect. TBD if the money back promise is honored. It also doesn't seem to allow me to unsubscribe. It says cancelled but when I log back in it still shows that I have an active account with automatic resubscribing. Should have listened to reviews before handing over money.
I absolutely hate it. it's upsell after upsell after upsell. like Vistaprint but worse. awful. I wish I could get my money back. when I tried using it the second time, it didn't even recognized that paid already. avoid it.
They have zero tolerance for cancellations on the same day of the charge hitting your account, and they do not issue a single warning to let you know that your renewal is coming up.

This app is a big disappointment! I tried lessons twice, but the AI is horrid at recording me - it just spits out half right and half gobbledygook sentences from the correct sentences I record. I also find the conversation prompts go from boring to too hard, and the conversations are more dull than what you'd find in a textbook. Don't even bother paying for this waste of phone space with its ridiculously overpriced AI plan. Even Duolingo, for all its faults, seems great compared to this turd.
I purchased 1 year premium but the app keeps saying I don't have a subscription. Not only I do not have access to premium content, but I cannot even go beyond the first lesson. Just wasted £70. AVOID!
I hoped it would be a more language focused app, but it uses the same gamificarion as Duolingo, which I hated. I've paid for the year, so I will continue using it, but I definitely won't renew the subscription.
This should be called "JUNKSpeak". I'm using it to improve my Vietnamese and there's a huge problem in that. the only dialect the AI speaks is the southern dialect. Consequently, it misinterprets differences in pronunciation as errors in grammar or vocabulary or usage. it doesn't have any of the language learning tools that it has for other languages like Spanish, for example. so there's no vocabulary, drill, no listening, etc.

App is glitchy, some of the services you pay for like video lessons do not load. Attempted contacting customer service 5 days in a row with no responses. Feels like a total scam. They sell you on all the different ways to learn but the app doesn't work and doesn't allow you to use the different methods.
total sht show! premium service never applied to the account and then was charged after 2 weeks without being able to use it. app was no better than alternatives and charges significantly more. Ai requires a significant premium upgrade which does not apply to the account automatically. language used is also dialect and doesnt always apply to normally spoken mandarin. would NOT recommend at all.
