never connects the first time, you always have to try multiple times and even then you're lucky to get in. today I got home and had to take a dump in the bushes because my damn lock wouldn't open genius concept horrible execution.
Woof. This company is full of a bunch of Apple fanboys and they can't figure out how to implement parity on the Android/Google side. I can't support companies like this.

Level claims that the Level bolt is designed for wooden exterior doors because their system only uses Bluetooth and not wifi like most other smart locks! Don't buy a Level lock if you have a wooden core metal exterior door, it will only work about 25% of the time!
It used to work well, but recently as I send invitations, they accept it but when trying to lock or unlock (Level Bolt), it gives error messages and doesn't work at all. I have contacted support and did everything they said to try, and yet nothing! This is so frustrating. It became useless except for me and one more family member who has access. But doesn't work for any new invites for Passes and People. Nada.

They can make all the claims they want to about Touch to Unlock but the bottom line is that it doesn't work. They need to fire their current dev team and hire a team who has a clue.
Latest update to this app has caused it to quickly drain my phone battery. Even though the app had less than 1m of screen time, it used more battery than always on display. Lots of packets sent which I assume is what was causing the battery drain. Uninstall/reinstall didn't fix the issue, so I have had to deepsleep the app and prevent it from running in the background.
Somehow the most recent update has made the app even worse. Now a dialog window pops up telling me I'm out of range (I'm not) that must be closed before being able to hit the button to lock or unlock. Adds even more unnecessary time and user actions to use the lock.
sharing by adding passes feature is broken. the screen froze after putting in the recipient information. please fix asap.
best not forget your password or your screwed.. worst app ever
Cannot get past the password screen. The next button remains disabled, regardless of what is out into the password input field.
horrible product, battery dies quickly and disconnects
the app has too much lag. never works when you need it to. it used to work well but now it never connects to the lock
Fix basic things. App doesn't detect lock anymore. Calibration doesn't work. Promising tech turned in to junk.
Not very reliable, few updates for a costly product
When trying to setup my lock for the first time I'm guided to the end of the set up tutorial and then only given the option to "Skip". When I'm presented with the option to pair my device the app crashes after ~30 seconds, despite the lock responding with a "chirp" as expected. Clearing the cache, redownloading and updated the app and the set up device to Android version 14 didn't effect the experience. I was looking forward to this product working out of the box but severely disappointed.

Why it doesn't work?
The Level Home App is so darn slow. I swear, if there was a serial killer on the loose right behind me - I'd be unalived. That's how slow it is.
This has to be one of the worst purchases I have ever made in my life. Stay away from this product. Touch Unlock remained broken for Android for over a year. Now the battery dies and I can't get into my house through the fob. Been locked out two times. I had my door on a low setting, battery died in a matter of weeks. They don't warn you in the app that it's dying. I had to destroy my level lock to get in the house. Will not buy again.
App literally doesn't even work- it crashes on launch and has never once worked beyond that.

Didn't open the door when I needed it to.... Not impressed with how this is functioning (or not).
so unresponsive when using a phone or card key.
A complete broken mess. Not usable. "There was a problem loading your account". Literally broken after one day.
It can't even connect to keypad. Keep saying something went wrong.
App was broken for a long time (would instantly close). Now it will sense the door and lock but is not able to lock or unlock the door.
Unreliable! always have physical key with you!
My apartment complex installed locks and a thermostat but I can't see them in the app. It hasn't worked once so I haven't been able to use my lock or thermostat, good job 👍🏻
Wish I could give No Stars! This product and app sucks. It just stopped working randomly one day. Changed the battery and no signs of life. Uninstalled app and reinstalled... Lock is completely kicked off and will not re-pair with any devices also no chirps or signs of life during battery reinstall. Customer service is USELESS. They told me to find the serial number inside the lock. If I have to undo my whole lock to find the serial number it's going in straight in the trash. 🤬🗑️🚫👎🏽
Doesn't work now...will try to re install and see if I can get a few weeks out of it
App uses more battery on phone than others and rarely works as advertised.
Rarely connects to lock for touch to unlock, I have given all permissions possible and have the app pinned to ensure its always on and still it won't work. Yes, I leave the geo-fence area and meet at the prerequisites to no avail. For this price this device should be flawless. Additionally, the lock notifies me that the battery needs to be replaced within 2 weeks of a new battery, yet I ignore it for quite some time and it still works. Absolute waste of money.
Useless. Can't change thermostat whatsoever
Worked well for the first few months, but then the auto unlocked stopped working, and after the person is already inside, THEN it unlocks. I replaced the battery and now it doesn't work at all. Very expensive lock that doesn't work via the app, so we're back to using the key, which defeats the whole point of buying this. App suggests firmware update but "update" button doesn't work. Overpriced doorknob at this point.
Terrible experience
What a horrible app. Unresponsive. Slow. Extremely basic. Virtually everyone does it better.
This company has the worst customer service. I have been trying to get my locks to work for 3 weeks now and nothing. I have been calling and sending emails with no response. Don't waste your time and energy with them. Wish I could give 0 stars.
App crashes & devices don't respond
The app really blows, trying to get a deadbolt connect always makes the app crash. I'm checking out other reviews and they confirm the incompetence of this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!
Now the level app auto unlocks for you. Before there is no time limit how long you need to be away for the level lock to unlock. Now you have to be away for a minimum of 10 minutes then come for level lock to unlock. I get it you added in. Very very very inconvenience when both hand are full. I have to drop my bag to get the key or reach out for my phone to unlock the door.
Won't let me log in. After you put in the password the botton to submit is Greyed out and not functioning
My apartment building switched from Vivint to Level and the experience has been very negative. The lights are not responsive, the app provides the wrong temperature (says its 30 degrees in my apt when it's 70), and this it fails to integrate with Google home every time I attempt. I didn't recommend this product.
Disappointing and Unreliable! We've been using the Key Level app for a two years now, and I am extremely disappointed. The app is riddled with bugs and crashes frequently, which makes it almost impossible to use. The interface is clunky and outdated, and it takes forever to get into our house. We are back to using our door key! Go figur!

I told them about this YEARS ago, and said I wouldn't buy another until they fixed it (and I haven't), and last I checked, they still haven't fixed it. If it doesn't fully lock for whatever reason, you're stuck, because there's no way to unlock it w/the app

cannot for the life of me get this app to reliably lock and unlock my door. this is a huge issue, as i could get locked out of my house. this should be a top priority for them to fix. I just get "unknown error".
