bye bye lidl, no point wasting space on this app anymore
Inevitably, Lidl have succumbed to the temptation to "Enshittify" their reward scheme at the customer's expense. I don't care how many times you claim, "but there will be chances to get double or triple points", nobody believes you are acting in good faith. With an effective rate of 1% reward, where I used to pick up a free bakery item with my first shop of the month, now I have to spend £90 to "earn" a brownie. You have destroyed any goodwill you had and I won't be shopping at Lidl again.
8.5.2026 please fix the problem with Internet connection on onboarding. android 17 8.4.2026 please fix the android 17!!!! please fix the awful bug with no internet connection on Android 17! only Lidl plus application has this problem. 2.1. Mi to pokaždé urve oči.
New update is terrible. Used to have to spend £10 a month to get a free bakery item now you have to spend £40 to £90. And scratchcard is gone too!
everytime I use this going shopping i get bombarded by spam calls everytime since its came out
New points scheme is significantly worse than previous rewards scheme. e.g. 100 pounds needs to be spent to earn enough points for a single cucumber... Will be shopping elsewhere unless things change
They've changed the rewards system not worth the effort even opening the app now
The app is completely broken for more then a month. it's says 'no internet conneftion' on the launch screen. I cannot login or proceed to any further screen. reinstalled, cleared cache and data, nothing works. Android 17 beta, pixel 10 pro xl. fix that
Removed from phone due to collecting user data to train AI along with data from other apps or network connection that your device is connected to! no thanks!
If you have the incentive to give great offers to regular customers then you have miserably failed with this new update. The point system is awful and meaningless. £100 to spend for a free cucumber??? This is your reward for shopping? Might as well not use the lidl app anymore or better yet switch to another supermarket.
disappointed with the new points system
Absolutely ruined with the new changes
The rewards system changed and now no longer works.
"You asked, we listened!" - what a joke. For six years, the 10% Coupon Plus was the reason I drove an extra four miles every week to shop at Lidl. I'd spend £250 to qualify, then do the discounted shop on top - another £150 or so. Around £400 a month, without fail. Now it's gone, so is my loyalty. That £400 is heading to Aldi. Sorry, Lidl - but this one wasn't my choice.
I came to Lidl due to this app. now I'm leaving as they have ruined the app. back to Aldi for me.
Used to be peak but changed the loyalty program, imagine having to spend £100 to get a free cucumber. It screams lidls out of touch with the general public and how much people can afford to spend.
Latest update sticks on startup logo screen on Pixel 10 Pro.
Loyalty built up over years gone within days.. You know it, I know it, the everyday Lidl shopper knows this new points system is ridiculous, you have gone from a perfectly fine system that genuinely rewarded everyday shopping, to what now feels like a complete slap in the face, how much do I have to spend in order to obtain a free sub £1 bakery item? Absolute penny pinchers, how many shoppers will you continue to lose if you don't reverse this decision. Back to Aldi & Asda it is.
rewards way poorer now
Used to be the best shopping app with great deals, now I would rather go to Tesco after being insulted by the new loyality scheme. Good bye Lidl it has been a good 5 years.
Not worth using it anymore after changes to the points system. Revert those stupid changes or lose customers!
New move to the points system is rubbish. hello aldi!
Very disappointed with the new Lidl Plus. As a loyal customer, I no longer see the incentive.
Pointless shopping there now, as they've taken away the reward system. Back to Aldi I go.
New point system is a laughable mockery. Saving around 1-3% per shopping trip comparing to previous 10% with the app make it no worthy, at least Asda has fuel as well. Just a data collection scheme. delete the app, don't get caught.
WOW just WOW, this new update to the points scheme is an authentic scam. PLEASE shop elsewhere if you can!
Money grubbers. Whoever thought up the new "reward" system should be fired.
Absolutely loved the app before the changes of the last couple of days. Claim that "you ask, we listened". But nobody asked for this. At least before there was an incentive to have my data plundered, now it is just a blatant data grab with no incentive to shop at Lidl anymore. Truly impressive to get something so wrong
Hope whoever sanctioned the new app is sacked. profits before people. Your customers won't forget
The app has always been clunky. Unable to load when there is no Internet and every single store I have visited has a poor signal. The recent update changing the value of rewards is enough to make me stop using Lidl. Avoid.
What a disappointment. we were loyal Lidl customers for the weekly shop, spending over £600 a month. the change in discounts has shown that this was all data collection exercise and never about rewarding loyalty. Even if Lidl reverse the changes, out of principle I will now be going to Aldi.
New rewards are just awful, as of May 2026 they have changed all the rewards to points you can redeem. Problem is these new rewards which we asked for apparently (we didn't) are pathetic. Now you have to spend just under £1500 to get "free" steaks, £100 for a cucumber. Sadly this is a tactic all the supermarkets employ and now I shall take my business elsewhere.
Loyalty? Not anymore. The “updated rewards” you claim customers asked for are a massive downgrade. I would have rather had no scheme than this.
New reward scheme is utterly rubbish, from 10% off after you spend 250£ for your next shop, to have a 10£ voucher when you spend 1000£...
The UK reward points scheme was downgraded to the point of not being worth it anymore. Lidl used to have the best points scheme with loads of free items and discount vouchers. Now they turned it into getting 1% cashback if you spend enough. They are trying to sell it as more free items for your shopping, but the spending-to-points ratio means you are lucky if the item you choose is worth even 1% of the money you spent. Finally a reason to switch to Aldi.
Was a great app with great rewards for shopping there - the random free/discounted items and scratchcards after each shop was lovely, as well as the free items after you spend a certain amount each month. Now with the new rewards system instead of spending £50 to get a free 7.5kg bag of potatoes you have to spend £225 for a fraction of the amount (2kg) which is just ridiculous. If it wasn't for the fact that lidl is the nearest supermarket to me I wouldn't shop at lidl again.
Terrible new implementation of points system. App is useless now, might aswell shop at aldi for cheaper
used to be a really useful app to help save money on a weekly shop by collecting points up over the month. with the new change it's now requiring a huge spend to get even basic items free or a discount. Not worth it anymore so I'll be looking elsewhere
the new points system is terrible. it's got nothing to do with loyalty, they just want our data whilst attempting to gaslight us into thinking they care about their customers.
gutted the incentives from their app. you will no longer get 10% (once a month) off for shopping with them on a regular basis anymore.
The bew Lidl points make the app feel worthless. With coupon plus you used to get rewards for spending a few pounds - like a free bakery treat fro spending £10, now you have to spend £50 to get a donut. Very disappointed with this change which seems very miserly compared with the old scheme, and I now have no incentive to go to Lidl every week, so now I'll probably go back to alternating with Aldi on different weeks. Good work Lidl 👏
This new points system totally ruined the app, made it useless. It went from being the best shopping scheme in the UK to the absolute worst. Seriously, if you don't have this app, don't even bother installing it, there's no point. consider shopping at Aldi instead.
£1 spent for 1 point? I now need to spend £500 to get a £5 off voucher. Ridiculous vs before
Should be called Lidl Minus. They changed the app so in order to get £5 off your shopping you have to spend £500. They said they responded to calls by customers asking for this change. I certainly did not. Will delete this app and start shopping in Aldi.
Lidl minus now, spend £100 to get a free cucumber.
The app was way more useful before the recent update, it's not nearly as good now. The points system is very similar if not the same as Tesco's so not really worth using tbh. I've also been having issues redeeming my coupons - they're just not being applied to my total even though I activated them before scanning. Quite a shame.
New points based reward scheme is poor. Definitely not what was wanted. Will likely shop less at Lidl now
Ruined the points system
Used to be amazing but sadly they ended all rewards and incentives to shop at Lidl. The best thing to do is not install this and shop at Aldi instead.
was very good untill they changed the system. spend £250 and get 10% of a shop now spend £1,000 to get £10 which is what you got spending with the 10% voucher in a £100 shop appaling no point having now really. spend £100 vs £10 for a bakery item which some elderly especially appreciated
