won't let me delete account
Bloated app that somehow still has basic features locked behind subscription.
the app has gotten way worse since introducing the AI features and making them the main feature of the app.. :( i have technical issues all the time as well in the last year
I have tracked every meal for well over 700 days. I watched this app go from something incredible and useful to a sloppy AI mess. Canceled my subscription due to "network errors" for four days straight.
premium paywall
Broken in many places: * add a portion of a 4 portion meal. adds 1/4 of some ingredients as it should, and then the full amount for others * 1000s of steps walking = 0 calories * very few recipes, especially if you have any allergies * even some lifesum confirmed ingredients contain errors
are people buying premium so rarely that you've started paywalling free features, or have you just become so greedy?
the AI calorie counter from pictures is very far off the majority of the time. there are free apps that do this way better and I'm a little miffed I spent money on this at all
Very slow - expect every interaction with the server to take about 30 seconds (or timeout occasionally). The ai photo-of-a-meal feature is ok-ish, but it makes up its own numbers instead of calculating from photos of nutritional label values or packaged products that are correctly identified.
I use to love this app. it was user friendly it had a lot of great information. then it did the AI thing and now it's totally unusable. it's inaccurate on the calorie amount by A LOT. the whole thing is frustrating as hell trying to navigate.
can't do anything more than track my weight and water after recent update. used to be able to track food as well, but most of the functions end in, "sorry, something went wrong." I've seen several recent reviews stating this, so it's probably a problem with AI implementation, which I do not want or wish to consent to having access to any of my data.
has AI in the name which makes it untrustworthy
boring
The AI is worthless. 20% of the time it errors out, 20% of the time it hallucinates 7000 calories into a cup of coffee. Editing it's errors is a pain in the glutes. Don't bother spending money here.
The app has TERRIBLE CALORIE ESTIMATES. For example, for one cup chai tea with milk and sugar it estimated 711 calories, while internet based sources would put it around 120 calories. Then later it said it was 67 calories. I just can't trust this thing
you have to pay for the bare minimum features that other apps even allow for free. you can't even change your macros to suit your liking without premium or do anything but find very limited food from their database.
I've been a paying user for several years, but now every update goes further into the AI slope. The last update is so bad, I can't properly log food anymore. The full AI shift is quite a disaster, things that would take a few seconds with manual entry takes forever now, oftentimes the AI just doesn't respond, the logging doesn't work anymore without it, and the intermittent fasting disappears.
Update: now you can't log food at all, not manually nor using the cam. Idk why have to pay for this junk. Sub cancelled, account deleted. Pf... The latest update made this app useless. Can't add any food to it. I need my money back. lol.
Suddenly can't track anything anymore, just says "Sorry, something went wrong". There's no help option on the app or any option to flag an issue. The problem came up before but was usually fixed by restarting the app or sometime even the phone. But this time nothing helps. Very inconvenient and annoying for a paid subscription.
suddenly app won't track food pics or nutrition labels!! I can't type in info either, just keep being "sorry" message!! I pay for this app since Jan and I'm not happy, was working great, but now a worthless piece of junk
this app is awful. can't find anything and is inconsistent when it does. it hardly ever works. so annoyed I paid for it
most recent update starting bricking the camera to estimate macros and even physically giving the macros still breaks
for a free calorie tracker you sure do ask for a lot of money for basic features, I didn't know you needed to send money for free services now. I hope your dishonest business fails miserably
I paid for a year subscription, and the new update basically downgraded the features to the free version without ads. it was amazing until all the logging features disappeared, and now just goes to preloaded options. there's no editing. I'm sad. this was such a great app before a few days ago.
where did the custom fasting go? I had it 2 days ago. Now it's gone from my page. Can't find anywhere to turn it back on either. This is the main reason I payed 499,-NOK for the app 3 days ago. Now it's just gone? WHY? I want my money back!
They ask more about you buying their subscription than tracking food
Everytime i open the app, i am redirected to a page asking me to subscribe to premium, this is VERY annoying. Stop prompting me everytime i open the app. If i want premium, i will get premium. Stop harassing me.
inaccurate plus a paywall. immediately uninstalled
uninstalling as the setup process and questions were too much
Since they implemented AI, I reconsidered my review. Boardin the hype train is not the best strategy for a good service. Wanted to return to the app, but will search something AI-free.
I would give this app no stars if I could. It does not work as intended and I have tried to get my money back for it, but have been denied even though the data is extremely inaccurate and does not work as intended which makes the diet very inaccurate. This will be the last time I ever purchase anything through Google play or from this seller.
nothing is accurate since updating to AI. Just unsubcribed after using for 3 years
A bit glitchy. Sometimes, it updates the calories whenever you add your meals, but sometimes it doesn't. Something I wouldn't pay for, tbh.
I do like the interface of this app however, it is not inclusive of intersex people as this is not an option available to select when creating an account
Kind of annoyed that my steps through HealthConnect aren't counted at all. I do 10K steps a day, they appear in the Exercises as Walking, and yet the app shows 0 calories burnt.
Basic UX missing! This app has become so unreliabld, they just randomly ship new things without considering what would actually be useful. Why can't I see the most recent meals in that order ? it is so difficult to track the same thing in dinner that you had in lunch. Instead, it suggests on top what you had for dinner the previous day ! Who in their right mind would think that people repeat the same dinner, when it is obviously logical that people repeat food in next meal, not next day!
the kcal is way off, and cant change it without paying.. useless.
The app has limited/missing foods that I try to log them. And the premium subscription is ridiculous, you put a paywall for adjusting your micronutrients and The "AI scanner" feature is ALSO behind the same paywall. just feel useless to use this app that I can't adjust to my exact needs.
when i try to track water, it adds the wrong amount. when i try to track exercise, it tracks the wrong amount. etc. the app looks nice though.
UI looks nice and the meal plans are diverse, but 1 in around 10 barcodes I scan for my lunch isn't found or it finds the wrong item. Even though it's connected to Health Connect, it doesn't update the daily calories based on activity, and yes it's turned on in settings. MyFitnessPal doesn't struggle this much. I keep giving it a chance, but I don't know how long I can keep it up.
The app was great, however since the update it's far too complicated now and I had to quit using it as I was spending too much time attempting to log everything. Good app until the recent update which ruined the experience. Using a different app now which is easier.
Is it healthy for an adult to set a goal of 1198 kcal? This app set that goal for me and I find it quite dangerous. Syncing with Health Connect doesn't work well, I don't see burned, it's always 0. Nice interface.
I've been using this app for a long time now and I'm paying premium but lately it's getting worse. it takes forever to load, crashes and sometimes numbers don't add up right. the Ai feature makes it more difficult to quickly change things in meals. before you could push the "add ingredients" button and just added XYZ. now when you push it it leads to the Ai window where you have to write out what you want to do
I've been a premium user for a long time, the app was easy to use. the only bothering thing was, it's always been slow, needing to restart multiple times when i tried editing, adding or anything to a meal. but recently it's gotten to another level. it's constantly loading, taking ages, not even restarting is helping much anymore. like i said, i really liked using the app so far but it's getting annoying
lately, the app has become increasingly slow and buggy. when changing the category of an item from Breakfast to Snack for example, it takes way longer for the changes to take effect. until then, the screen is stuck in loading mode. similarly, when adding items, sometimes the item doesn't show up in the daily summary, even if it was "successfully" scanned. this is a simple tracking feature, with only text and a handful of items. there is absolutely no technical reason why this should be so slow.
Half the time when I create a new recipe it doesn't get saved, adding a new entry takes 10+ seconds. The ai focus is bad, it's barely usefull and has left the core app almost unuseable.
it has many bugs now after adding the AI features. I love them features but the app is either freezing or says "Sorry, something went wrong."
I don't know if it is just me but I'm having issues lately with the app constantly and I have been using the app on and off for years, never had any problems before. Adding exercises is a nightmare, nothing downloading or the adding icon disappears..I have to close the app to reappear again...food that I have already entered suddenly is not there any more. I'm a paying customer, I expect much more than this!
I have used this app since May last year, and it has really helped me lose weight, so I can recommend it from this perspective. However, recent interface changes have made it really unusable and difficult to analyse what you logged during the day-so many clicks are needed, etc. I will be switching to a different app if Lifesum doesn’t improve the main screen’s ease of use. the app is sometimes very slow and makes mistakes. For example it recognises a product from the barcode and then logs it as 0
can't create proper custom food. if barcode exists, you can't save your own the same. servings are not detailed, if you enter packaging details the serving messes up the final results.
