don't bother installing this if you're thinking of free using. app basically annoys you with every touch to upgrade to premium.
so many of my chats and cool conversations were deleted when I woke up. I don't know if it's a bug or if you incentivise people deleting eachother for more matches but it's low-key ridiculous that like 20 good chats I was having are now just fully gone. so much for language exchange
be prepared to pay. You'll have a ton of friend requests, but the algorithm will never let you match with any of them, so you would have to pay premium in order to accept friend requests.
The chat has really strange and strict censoring like I can't mention some social media or anime. Also can't message more than 3 people, deleting a chat doesn't let you chat with more so you either have to save up smiles for a week meaning you can't interact with anyone for a week or buy smiles which is dumb. Loosening up the restrictions about how many chats you can have would make more people use the app, at least give it back after deleting a chat

Langmate Developer, I haven't used this app yet, but I have a question: Is it suitable from my 12 year old child to use this app? she's so eager in making Japanese friends and talking with them.
Now says incompatable with my device...

Terrible application that costs money to talk to anyone. They don't even let you engage in conversations where other people are talking to you first. I waited the amount of time each day getting 10 free smiles up until I was supposed to get 70 smiles so I can engage in another conversation with someone. And then they deleted my smiles all the way down to 36 for no reason. I would not recommend getting this application. It's terrible.
this app was good before the update, now you must pay in order to use it. what a shame...gonna uninstall this after this review
very bad application , you can't get any match unless you pay
I deleted LangMate after repeated bad experiences. Many people ghosted me the moment I said I wouldn’t share my number or switch apps right away. The final straw was when, in the first 10 minutes of our very first chat, I asked someone how he was doing and he replied “I’m horny.” Others even admitted they only wanted “hot chat.” Too many fake and inappropriate users - not a safe place for genuine conversation.
unless you pay for this app it is unesable. i have had several friend requests and I cant accept or chat with them. absolutely nothing to do. i dont understand the point of this app. why scroll through cards and say interested or not if it you cant do anything about it?
can only talk three times unless you pay and can't answer friend request either

it's very easy to use this app I like it verry much but I think that making it premium to see who added you is wrong and it makes people probably not want to use the app anymore it was a really good app

I think this is the worst app for messaging I've ever seen. To see new messages, you have to reload the app. They can just randomly lose your sent messages, no laptop version, you cannot send more than one photo at a time, and of course, you should pay for such badly implemented chats. I would be ashamed to take money for this.
takes really long to open, I checked my internet and signal and it was good so the app itself was the problem

There should be a feature to report scammers even after they unfriend you- because they are still on the app and untouchable. the name Hugo Lloris was used as a fake scam account as I sussed him out using AI copy and paste features.

app is riddled with issues. Support is unresponsive & there is a high concentration of scammers on the platform. The main flaw: free accounts cannot see friend requests. This means paid users waste money sending requests/credits to the majority of users who can't even see them, making the core paid feature useless. The limitations on free accounts are too severe, creating no incentive to pay. Fix the bugs, remove the limitations, and provide real incentives to upgrade beyond just seeing messags
insane amount of ads doesnt load sometimes which would be fine if you dont also have to pay to talk to people after 3 chats which is insane
