I hate the upgrades to the app. The updated version does not tell you to take a highway North or South. The exit names are wrong. e.g. on the Cross Island Parkway, the Bell blvd. exit is called 212 street. If this app doesn't get fixed ASAP I'm not using it anymore. The ads are almost dangerous.
This app is useless. There is no way to save an address. Waste of time.
The whole reason I downloaded this app was for the route optimization. quit Google search said MapQuest was an option. I used MapQuest 20 years ago so figured I would give it a try. I couldn't easily find any way to optimize my five stops. I decided to try and use it for my GPS this morning. It took me down a dirt road and dead-ended at the other side of the gated community that was trying to get into. added 10 minutes to my drive cuz I had to backtrack to go back to the main road.
It may have potential, but as it sits is a horrible travel app for anything further than 10 minutes. you can't trust that the route doesn't auto change, to options that were specifically checked off. This, on top of your route needing to be restarted when a random ad pops up makes it pretty useless.
I had moderate hopes, but they were dashed as soon as my screen locked and the audio directions completely stopped working until the screen was unlocked again. There very intrusive ad campaign as soon as you open the app. Most of the ads are ment to look like a official android or google update but they so random shady third party ad riddled app.
bad direction
There's no option for traveling by bus and train for which I currently use Google Maps. I'd love to switch, but I've been waiting a year on a comment from Mapquest's social media about public transport directions coming soon. At this point I need to delete the app and find something I can actually use to navigate.
This was my go-to app for wherever I went, but after the surprise update, everything is so different. The app is so laggy and slow now, and whenever I look up directions, I usually click avoid highways, but now it automatically changes to take the highway while I'm en route and driving on the road. Sometimes, it won't even let me change it back! That is not only very annoying but also so dangerous!
awkward to use
Horrendous! I've been using MapQuest for decades and it was better than Google Maps. Lately it has been horrible. I always put to avoid tolls and it always sends me to toll roads.
updates have taken this app from my most used to unusable. Its delayed, inaccurate and nit user friendly anymore.
This app used to be very good. But the new update now won't even let you add a stop on the way from where you are, to where you're going. Since the new AI update took our choices away. The new version has all kinds of weird characters and pictures that interfere with the basic view of just "where is my car, And where am I going? And what are the directions?
added all my stops twice and it deleted it both times.

really not happy with update 5/26. was a usable app, now, it's terrible. update 6/4/26- unusble! why go and ruin a decades old product that was once a good tool.
While I love MapQuest, and alternative media in general. The new and odd "pixel" aesthetic update removed a lot of features. Even the option to opt out of data selling. And for someone like me who is privacy oriented, that's a deal breaker. UPDATE MAY 2026: 3⭐➡1⭐ I have an even more difficult time navigating the app. I can't pull to a location, to search around there without it constantly taking me back to my own location. The usability sucks now compared to where it was last year. Featureless.

Sad, could NOT find "dayton international speedway". I could have dragged the map to it, but why? Uninstalled it! Your app is so bad!
It is horrible. Makes you give a start from which is stupid. Then you finally get that in and it just gives directions. Then you can't start it. Doesn't give you vocal directions. And now won't let you leave review. Can you give zero stars!
This app/site refuses to remove my old business listing even after I claimed it.
The old MapQuest app was awesome.I loved it, you have ruined it.I will now have to find a different app.It doesn't pull up the addresses, it's very slow.It sucks

Why did you remove the different route options? Your map is offering one route to choose from when there are several ways to get there. Your route is directing me to roads that have numerous potholes ☹️
Audio instructions don't work consistently. In addition, the app ignores preferences to avoid tolls. Worse yet, this is the only place to submit feedback about the app. The "Send Feedback" button within the app doesn't do anything.

Too many NOTIFICATIONS!. Even when not in use! That is invasion of privacy!!! It's constantly telling you to use the app when ITS NOT EVEN NEEDED ! HELLOOOO??? DELETE. CLICK GOOD BYE!
many issues needs to be resolved
I've been using the app for 10 years and used to love it. I absolutely hate the recent changes. There's so many bad things, don't know where to begin. There's a 3D and 2D route view, but the 2D route map doesn't update while you're driving, so it's useless. They use a big circle, so you can't tell what direction you're pointing. They have big sections on the top and bottom with driving information that take up too much room, so the route map is way too small. I'm switching to another app.
new update totally screwed this app! I will be uninstalling this once good app because even though Google Maps sucks it's better than this! And why did they eliminate traffic info and the plus/minus symbol on the screen? Some moron decided using one hand to zoom in and out was too easy so they decided you should use two, ridiculous!

The MAY/2026 Update Is AWFUL! ROLL IT BACK, please. There is nothing remotely similar to the old MapQuest, entirely different and not near as user friendly. I had to pull in a parking lot and spend probably 5 minutes figuring out how to use it, where to find the step-by-step directions, the whole thing is just terrible down to the map view itself. Come on MapQuest, you're trying too hard to mirror Google maps with this update. Please, fix it. Oh it deleted all my saved routes too

When I type in a city, it shows several with that name, but doesn't include the state. So you have no way of knowing which city you're picking.
The website plain out just doesn't work. The app is also trash. Doesn't say which roads to turn on. Just lists how many feet until you turn left or right. GARBAGE!
Mapquest is not accurate! it takes bits from the internet, connects them to a website it thinks is right and links them. Mapquest has a picture of someone else with my business name on it. try to contact them or reach out to get it fixed, sorry, apparently it is an open source that anyone can cut n paste to. I suggest using a reliable app.
it doesn't tell you when to turn, and doesn't give accurate mapping. really disappointed
Can't save routes, at least from the mobile app. Can't save anything to collections. Mostly useless for my application. Which is to save routes that I plan on traveling.
Trash since update! I want to see the map of all the locations to choose one but some idiot that obviously doesn't use the app makes the "results " list continue to pop up over the map! And now it also doesn't zoom in on what you typed in, you start from a view from space of the earth and have to zoom in yourself to get to the map view! uninstall this joke. Great job messing up what was once a great app. 🗑

Horrible graphics and user interface. I'd hoped it would've been easier to customize routes than Google Maps but it's not and is just worse overall. I used to use Mapquest's website back in the day before the current smart phones and it looks like nothing has been updated since in the app or site. It's horrible .
Extremely hard to edit contacts, will not save new addresses and you can only have 1 name for any 1 place, very disappointed.
wrong directions
"follow the highway" stupid app took us through some backroads on a trip from ky to vt. 40 miles at 35 and 45 mph. almost lost in NY. and i cannot shut the stupid thing off its killed my battery to 16 percent running in the background overnight
only using it because im hoycotting google. This app always opens to a full view of the US, and when you search a location, it wont zoom in to the place you searched. Search randomly breaks and will repeatedly say "something went wrong"
