Latest update is garbage. Overwrites my entire screen so no way to exit except turn off phone. No option to disable haptic vibration every time I select a lesson or answer question is annoying. Amateur hour. Used to value this app.

Does not create an account or a profile, so is not portable and works only on the phone on which it is installed.
You click beginner but there's still a ton of untranslated french in the questions. Including untransalted answers to multiple choice questions. pretty stupid
im in canada and when i click on a lesson, it tells me I'm in the wrong country and cannot continue. useless
The video will not play on this new Samsung telephone. Unfortunately I cannot to forward with this app. The screen goes white when video is started. Too bad.
First slide. A pile of French not defined. What the...?! Uninstalling.
Not for Beginners. Selected Beginner with little french experience and immediately drops you into videos and quizzes fully in French. The majority of the feedback is in French (which isn't helpful for someone starting out). Audio also isn't clear, and talking/pronunciation is mubbled, which makes it even more difficult to understand. Might be good for someone who wants to improve their French, but it's terrible as a beginner starting out.
Great if you already speak the language. It just shows video clips with no context and expects you to know what they are saying. I don't even understand the questions I'm being asked. This is really just such a disappointing app. In response to Radio-Canada's response, this app is still next to useless. Listening to the videos slower doesn't help if I don't know what they are saying, or what the questions are. I did start at level 1, and it still is like getting thrown in the deep end.
Horrible app. You are expecting non-native speakers to understand what people are saying when there's music or other noise. I listened to one scene over and over and I could not kake it out. Waste of my tax dollars if you ask me.
This app sucks. It would be nice if I could click a word I don't know and it would translate for me, I mean I am trying to learn here. I can't even copy paste to Google it, it doesn't select. The video clips they speak so fast its discouraging. Half the time you can't hear what they are saying because of background noise. I hope this isn't paid for by our taxes, what a waste of money.
Great app, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE introduce a black mode. This murky gray "dark mode" is hard to see :(
The content and functionality of the app is fantastic, when it is responsive. Unfortunately the latest update I received has made it very buggy and it now hangs on me regularly, causing me to quit and reopen the application.

As such, I am forced to manually navigate the earlier lessons with no way to actually track my progress. There appears to be no way to reset my progress so I am stuck. This combined with the little vibration which plays every time I tap my screen has created a very unintuitive experience when navigating the app. Unless this is fixed I cannot continue

app crashes consistently after the final matching pairs question in activities. sometimes progress is retained and you can progress to the next activity. sometimes it isn't and you have to just redo the activity (with it crashing every time) until it unlocks the next one. // super useful app otherwise. I'm gonna keep using it. I appreciate it as a resource but this crash is really frustrating. // encountered at: -Beginner 1, Episode 1, Activity 21 -Beginner 1, Episode 2, Activity 12

No grammar instruction and doesn't help you actually SPEAK your target language. Listening and comprehension exercises only. I didn't do any placement test to start at the beginning, and it's NOT beginner friendly. The only reason I "pass" a lot of the exercises is because I have a good grasp of Spanish.

I want to assume this is a good app, but I can't use it. I downloaded this app because as a Canadian, I studied French up until high school, but I dropped it since then. I wanted to get back into it through some nice Canadian content, however because I live outside of Canada right now I cannot do that. The videos are "not available in my region". I mean, I get it because it's CBC, but maybe you could make your own content available within your own app. 🤷♀️
Nice and useful for getting used to local Canadian French accents. However the background music can be distracting and dampen learners' experience. I'd recommend developers to allow users turn of background music and better focus on listening to spoken phrases. I am scoring 2 stars to bring this issue to developers' attention.
'Beginner ' must mean something else in French. Good quality app as far as looks but poor execution. Using advanced French questions right off the start. I know a little French and I could only guess what it was asking. An app for learning French, at the beginning level, should not have the instructions in French. I am surprised I actually have to type this seems obvious. 🤯 Switch to English as instructed. Now the navigation is in English 🎉. However the questions are still in advanced French😔
Wow. Not for beginners. So excited to try this app and I'm just lost. What a disappointment. If you know next to no French then it's a waste. Unless there is something I'm missing. It's like taking a course to learn French with nothing in English to help you. The look and functionality is great. I think if I had someone French speaking to help me a bit at start I might be able to wrap my head around it.
App super intéressante, beaucoup de contenu, j'aime bien l'approche ludique. Par contre, ce qui est vraiment décevant et qui explique la note de 2 étoiles, c'est que ma femme, qui est Thaïe, ne peut même pas installer l'application car elle est géobloquée. Son compte Google Play est basé en Thaïlande, et le Google Store ne lui permet même pas d'installer l'application. Pour quelle raison bizarre est-ce que l'installation de cette application est limitée selon l'origine du compte Google?
the videos are glitched and don't play properly for me
Poor quality audio. No option to slow the speech down to better understand while developing your listening skills in a new language. No real logical order/organization to the lessons in order to better understand a certain topic or rule of the language. Instead of just seems to jump randomly from topic to topic with no clear direction of what you're expected to learn in a particular section.
