This company and this app have to be one of the worst. I make an offer on a cup from 2 different accts....crickets. Then I buy the item...still crickets. I contact customer service to see if the account is defunct. They tell me they can't do anything..really? .. then why have C. service ? I try to verify my account and it is leads to a dead end. They just reprint the instructions and email to me. DUH, I CAN READ...I am asking for help. No contacts of head officials. give them 0 stars if I could
Don't ever forget your email or password because if you do the system will automatically set up another account for you. which is a problem. because you can't have multiple accounts, it's violation of the terms and agreement.
Just garbage. overpriced garbage and full of scammers, Especially if you are a seller.
It looks good but dont do it. They do not care when you purchase something and dont get it. You just lose your money. No proof of anything required. It use to be better. Now its all a scam. Its ridiculous

don't sell on this site full of scamers. I sold a phone and the guy ask for a return . I got my phone back and it was hacked. mercari does nothing about sellers getting scammed by buyers.
Nice App/Website with one major flaw... I get notifications via email, as is my preference, but clicking on the links inside doesn't go to the website or uses the installed app to show me the item. it goes to the Google Store and wants me to open the app from there. Not the end of the world but when Merci opens it just makes me to the front page. The item in question nowhere to be found and I'm left trying to find it.
pray you do not need customer service help. they provide zero.
I've been using this app for years to sell but my most recent transaction really put the nail in the coffin. Sold 3 Thrilljoy figures and buyer chose UPS to ship. About 4 days after delivery I get an email from mercari indicating that UPS claims the package weighed more than 3 pounds and upcharged me for AN 8 POUND PACKAGE. Not a chance in hell that box weighed more than 3 pounds when the figures themselves don't weigh more than 11 oz. each. The selling fees are atrocious to begin with

Don't Even, you better read every detail of their terms, they closed my first sale and my account 1day after joining because I couldn't prove i bought what I was selling by showing receipt. I bought it years ago why would I still have the receipt. and the fees are high too. I would give zero stars if I could. I'd rather sell on market place at this point.
Choose another app for this type of thing. Mercari is all about their sellers. They DO NOT care about their buyers. I was sold a counterfeit item. I reached out right away. It's almost a month later & I still haven't been refunded. I provided the photos and all the proof they requested. Instead they're waited for the seller to approve EVERYTHING. On top of that the sellers page is still active even though it's all fake! I proved that! WORST CS EVER! I won't be shopping here anymore. DO BETTER!
Buyer beware. My husband used his own account to buy a laptop using my debit card and Mercari asked if he wanted to purchase a warranty. He did for $40. The seller of the laptop cancelled the sale but my bank card was still charged for the warranty. My husband emailed the warranty place and I was still charged. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! Using my remaining balance in the app and then deleting this garbage app. I also bought junk they wouldn't let me return. DO NOT USE THIS APP.

i swore i would never use them again and i did but now I'm done. TRASH !!!! They don't even deserve the one star. They rip off the seller, and I'm sure the buyers are as well. I shipped an item on my own because I could not get my computer printer to work to print their label , they kept the money regardless if I used their label or not. I Paid more for shipping than what the buyer ever paid. And selling fees are astromical. A hard NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY OR SELL ON HERE.
I'm not giving you my government ID just to report a listing for scalping!

YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY! I lost on a sale of a card because the buyer claimed It never arrived even though I showed mercari the receipt of date and price. I also lost money on a game I bought since the seller didn't put the full address on the item and now they are ignoring me for a cancellation. reaching out to mercari support will resolve nothing since they only care about sales. you will lose items and money so please don't use this app.
Mercari support, specifically Louisa, does not stand behind Mercari promise of protecting sellers from false averages by shipping companies, even when provided solid proof the overage charged for was fake. Provided the drop off receipt showing size and poundage and still mercari won't dispute the overage from UPS. And UPS can't access without invoice number, which Mercari is unwilling to provide me so I can at least pursue the matter on my own. If you are thinking of selling here, think twice.
Garbage Company That Steals from Customers
I have three orders to send out and it won't verify my license to even show me a shipping label of where it needs to go. Customer service is a joke and hangs up on you when there's more than a 10 minute wait. I've tried over 10 times to verify my legit license and it won't accept it. It also goes and deletes every message I send to the people waiting on their orders so they think I'm just giving them the run around. This service is a joke.
The customer service is awful. I tried to return an item and showed proof it wasn't as described and they denied it after taking forever to come to this conclusion. What is the buyer protection fee even for? Definitely not making any more purchase.
Keeps crashing when you try to choose a photo album to post from so you can't post anything. And why is it necessary for this app to suddenly vibrate every time you touch an option? Wth is that
the app is awful and worse now somehow you click on an item and you can read it's description but the next items you click on will never load you just get the initial photo and price but nothing below that and no option to pay! I took some time off from the app and after 3 minutes back on I'm done
Mercari does not respect its users whether they're sellers or buyers. If you have an issue with a product in any way and wonder if Mercari will help you, the answer is no. The service team will not provide any assistance or back you in any way regardless of any proof or precedent you may provide. At best you get an automated message repeating known information and at worst they expect you to prove a negative. Try somewhere else if you wish to buy or sell secondhand items.
I’m not sure if other friends have noticed this too, but recently this software has had a lot of issues. You have to keep logging out and back in. What’s going on?
I'm still having issues with the platform changing my shipping option to free!!! I DO NOT select free shipping!! I cannot afford to I am already selling items that are $20 and less. Please stop changing my listings to free shipping. If you want to do promotional reduced shipping that's fine. But I can't keep selling here if this continues to happen.
be very careful. they switch items to free shipping occasionally as you list them. be sure to check. they also give free shipping for ALL items bundled if just one of those items have free shipping. when you go to report that you weren't paid for shipping they just give you a run around that one item has free shipping. also, the search method is awful. very hard to find what you want
shopping & browsing is okay, but getting support help stinks or anything coupon related fails. also, slow to respond and very laggy, almost suspicious of this app running something nefarious in the background
Not worth it, the fees ate all my profits. Just as I posted an item for sale I had 3 scammers messaging me saying they are trying to buy but have an error, providing a scam link to "fix it". I wish I had local buyer instead because Mercari made over 3x the profit I made for something I purchased.
